Deuteronomy 30

1 "And when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the LORD your God has driven you,	1 «Quando su di te si saranno realizzate tutte queste parole, la benedizione e la maledizione che ti ho presentato, se le mediterai in mezzo a tutte le nazioni fra le quali ti avrà condotto Jahvè tuo Dio,
2 and return to the LORD your God, you and your children, and obey his voice in all that I command you this day, with all your heart and with all your soul;	2 se ritornerai a Jahvè tuo Dio e se ascolterai la sua voce, secondo quanto oggi ti ordino, con tutto il cuore e con tutta l’anima, tu e i tuoi figli,
3 then the LORD your God will restore your fortunes, and have compassion upon you, and he will gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you.	3 Jahvè tuo Dio muterà la tua sorte, avrà misericordia di te e ti raccoglierà da tutti i popoli fra i quali ti aveva disperso.
4 If your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there the LORD your God will gather you, and from there he will fetch you;	4 Quand’anche tu fossi stato condotto a una estremità del cielo, di là Jahvè tuo Dio ti raccoglierà e di là ti prenderà;
5 and the LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, that you may possess it; and he will make you more prosperous and numerous than your fathers.	5 e Jahvè tuo Dio ti introdurrà nella terra che possedettero i tuoi padri e tu ne prenderai possesso, ti renderà felice e ti moltiplicherà più dei tuoi padri.
6 And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, so that you will love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.	6 Jahvè tuo Dio circonciderà il tuo cuore e il cuore della tua discendenza così che tu ami Jahvè tuo Dio con tutto il cuore e con tutta l’anima tu viva.
7 And the LORD your God will put all these curses upon your foes and enemies who persecuted you.	7 Jahvè tuo Dio porrà tutti questi giuramenti imprecatori “sui tuoi nemici, su coloro che ti odiano e che ti hanno perseguitato,
8 And you shall again obey the voice of the LORD, and keep all his commandments which I command you this day.	8 mentre tu ascolterai di nuovo la voce di Jahvè e metterai in pratica tutti i precetti che oggi ti ordino;
9 The LORD your God will make you abundantly prosperous in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your ground; for the LORD will again take delight in prospering you, as he took delight in your fathers,	9 Jahvè tuo Dio ti farà sovrabbondare di beni in ogni opera delle tue mani: nel frutto del tuo seno, nel frutto del tuo bestiame e nel frutto del tuo suolo; poiché Jahvè tornerà a gioire a tuo riguardo ne farti del bene come gioì a riguardo dei tuoi padri,
10 if you obey the voice of the LORD your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.	10 se ascolti la voce: di Jahvè tuo Dio osservando i suoi precetti e i suoi statuti che sono scritti nel libro di questa legge, se ritorni a Jahvè tuo Dio con tutto il cuore e con tutta l’anima.
11 "For this commandment which I command you this day is not too hard for you, neither is it far off.	11 L’ordinamento, infatti, che oggi ti prescrivo, né è troppo difficile per te né è molto distante.
12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, 'Who will go up for us to heaven, and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?'	12 Esso non è in cielo perché tu dica: “Chi per noi salirà in cielo, lo prenderà per noi, ce b farà ascoltare così che lo possiamo mettere in pratica?”.
13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who will go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?'	13 Esso non è al di là del mare, perché tu dica: “Chi per noi passerà al di là del mare, lo prenderà per noi, ce lo farà ascoltare così che lo possiamo mettere in pratica?”.
14 But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it.	14 La parola, infatti, ti è molto vicina: è nella tua bocca e nel tuo cuore affinché tu la adempia.
15 "See, I have set before you this day life and good, death and evil.	15 Vedi, oggi ti ho presentato la vita e la felicità, la morte e la sfortuna:
16 If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you this day, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land which you are entering to take possession of it.	16 se obbedisci ai precetti di Jahvè tuo Dio, che oggi ti ordino, così che tu ami Jahvè tuo Dio, segua le sue vie e osservi i suoi precetti, i suoi statuti e i suoi decreti, allora tu vivrai, ti moltiplicherai e Jahvè tuo Dio ti benedirà sulla terra di cui vai a prendere il possesso;
17 But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them,	17 ma se allontani il tuo cuore e non ascolti, se ti lasci trascinare e ti prostri davanti ad altri dèi e presti loro un culto,
18 I declare to you this day, that you shall perish; you shall not live long in the land which you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess.	18 oggi vi dichiaro: certamente perirete e non avrete più lunghi giorni sul suolo di cui, attraversando il Giordano, entrate in possesso.
19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live,	19 Oggi prendo il cielo e la terra a testimoni contro di voi: ti ho presentato la vita e la morte, la benedizione e la maledizione. Scegli la vita, così vivrai tu e la tua discendenza,
20 loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice, and cleaving to him; for that means life to you and length of days, that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them."	20 per amare Jahvè tuo Dio, per ascoltare la sua voce e per aderire a lui: poiché egli è la tua vita e la lunghezza dei tuoi giorni da passare sul suolo che Jahvè giurò ai tuoi padri, ad Abramo, a Isacco e a Giacobbe».
