Deuteronomy 12

1 "These are the statutes and ordinances which you shall be careful to do in the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you to possess, all the days that you live upon the earth.	1 Queste sono le leggi e le ordinazioni che dovete osservare nel paese che il Signore Dio dei tuoi padri sta per darti, affinchè tu lo possegga tutto il tempo che starai sopra la terra.
2 You shall surely destroy all the places where the nations whom you shall dispossess served their gods, upon the high mountains and upon the hills and under every green tree;	2 Distruggete tutti i luoghi nei quali le nazioni che voi siete per spodestare hanno adorato i loro dèi, sulle alte montagne, sulle colline, sotto ogni albero ombroso.
3 you shall tear down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and burn their Asherim with fire; you shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy their name out of that place.	3 Demolite i loro altari, fate in pezzi le statue, date alle fiamme i boschetti, riducete in polvere gl'idoli e fate sparire il loro nome da quei luoghi.
4 You shall not do so to the LORD your God.	4 Non così farete verso il Signore Dio vostro,
5 But you shall seek the place which the LORD your God will choose out of all your tribes to put his name and make his habitation there; thither you shall go,	5 ma vi recherete al luogo che il Signore Dio vostro avrà eletto fra tutte le vostre tribù per mettervi il suo nome e abitarvi,
6 and thither you shall bring your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the offering that you present, your votive offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herd and of your flock;	6 le vostre vittime, le decime, le primizie delle vostre mani, i voti, i doni, i primogeniti dei buoi e delle pecore;
7 and there you shall eat before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your households, in all that you undertake, in which the LORD your God has blessed you.	7 ivi mangerete al cospetto del Signore Dio vostro e farete festa con tutte le cose a cui avrete messo la mano, voi e le vostre famiglie nelle quali il Signore Dio vostro vi avrà benedetto.
8 You shall not do according to all that we are doing here this day, every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes;	8 In quel luogo non farete quel che facciamo oggi qui, ciascuno ciò che gli sembra bene.
9 for you have not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance which the LORD your God gives you.	9 Non siete infatti ancor giunti al riposo e al possesso che il Signore Dio vostro è per darvi;
10 But when you go over the Jordan, and live in the land which the LORD your God gives you to inherit, and when he gives you rest from all your enemies round about, so that you live in safety,	10 ma quando, passato il Giordano, abiterete nella terra che il Signore Dio vostro è per darvi, e avrete requie da tutti i vostri nemici che vi circondano, e vivrete senza alcun timore,
11 then to the place which the LORD your God will choose, to make his name dwell there, thither you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the offering that you present, and all your votive offerings which you vow to the LORD.	11 nel luogo scelto dal Signore Dio vostro per mettervi il suo nome, là porterete tutto quello che io comando, gli olocausti, le ostie, le decime, le primizie delle vostre mani e tutto ciò che avete scelto fra i doni per offrirlo in voto al Signore.
12 And you shall rejoice before the LORD your God, you and your sons and your daughters, your menservants and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your towns, since he has no portion or inheritance with you.	12 Là voi farete conviti dinanzi al Signore Dio vostro voi, i vostri figli, le vostre figlie, i servi, le serve, e il levita che abita nella vostra città, non avendo egli altra parte nè possesso tra voi.
13 Take heed that you do not offer your burnt offerings at every place that you see;	13 Guardati dall'offrire i tuoi olocausti in qualunque luogo vedrai;
14 but at the place which the LORD will choose in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I am commanding you.	14 ma offrirai le ostie in quello dal Signore scelto in una delle tue tribù, e lì farai tutto ciò che ti comando.
15 "However, you may slaughter and eat flesh within any of your towns, as much as you desire, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which he has given you; the unclean and the clean may eat of it, as of the gazelle and as of the hart.	15 Ma se tu vuoi mangiare ed hai piacere di mangiar della carne, uccidi pure e mangia, secondo la benedizione che il Signore Dio tuo t'ha data, nelle tue città, mangiando tanto ciò che è impuro, cioè macchiato e debole, quanto ciò che è puro, cioè intero, senza macchia e che può essere offerto, come la gazzella e il cervo,
16 Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it out upon the earth like water.	16 il sangue però non lo mangiare; ma lo spargerai per terra come l'acqua.
17 You may not eat within your towns the tithe of your grain or of your wine or of your oil, or the firstlings of your herd or of your flock, or any of your votive offerings which you vow, or your freewill offerings, or the offering that you present;	17 Non potrai mangiare nelle tue città la decima del tuo frumento, del tuo vino, del tuo olio, i primogeniti degli armenti e dei greggi, tutto quello che avrai offerto per voto, le tue offerte spontanee, e le primizie delle tue mani:
18 but you shall eat them before the LORD your God in the place which the LORD your God will choose, you and your son and your daughter, your manservant and your maidservant, and the Levite who is within your towns; and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God in all that you undertake.	18 tali cose dovrai mangiarle dinanzi al Signore Dio tuo, nel luogo che il Signore Dio tuo avrà eletto, tu, il tuo figlio, la tua figlia, il servo, la serva e il levita che abita nelle tue città, e ti rallegrerai e ti conforterai dinanzi al Signore Di tuo con tutte le cose a cui avrai messo la tua mano.
19 Take heed that you do not forsake the Levite as long as you live in your land.	19 Guardati bene, per tutto il tempo che starai sulla terra, dall'abbandonare il levita.
20 "When the LORD your God enlarges your territory, as he has promised you, and you say, 'I will eat flesh,' because you crave flesh, you may eat as much flesh as you desire.	20 Allorchè il Signore Dio tuo avrà estesi i tuoi confini, come ti ha detto, se tu vorrai mangiar delle carni da te desiderate,
21 If the place which the LORD your God will choose to put his name there is too far from you, then you may kill any of your herd or your flock, which the LORD has given you, as I have commanded you; and you may eat within your towns as much as you desire.	21 e il luogo eletto dal Signore Dio per porvi il suo nome si trova lontano uccidendo del grosso e del minuto bestiame da te posseduto, secondo i miei ordini, mangialo nella tua città a tuo piacimento,
22 Just as the gazelle or the hart is eaten, so you may eat of it; the unclean and the clean alike may eat of it.	22 come si mungerebbe la gazzella e il cervo, senza distinzione tra mondi e immondi.
23 Only be sure that you do not eat the blood; for the blood is the life, and you shall not eat the life with the flesh.	23 Ma guardati da mangiare il sangue, perchè il sangue per essi è l'anima, e non devi mangiare l'anima colle carni;
24 You shall not eat it; you shall pour it out upon the earth like water.	24 lo spargerai adunque per terra come l'acqua,
25 You shall not eat it; that all may go well with you and with your children after you, when you do what is right in the sight of the LORD.	25 per esser felice tu e i tuoi figli dopo di te, quando avrai fatto ciò che piace al cospetto del Signore.
26 But the holy things which are due from you, and your votive offerings, you shall take, and you shall go to the place which the LORD will choose,	26 In quanto poi alle cose che avrai santificate e votate al Signore, le prenderai, e, andato al luogo eletto dal Signore,
27 and offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, on the altar of the LORD your God; the blood of your sacrifices shall be poured out on the altar of the LORD your God, but the flesh you may eat.	27 offrirai le tue oblazioni, la carne e il sangue sull'altare del Signore Dio tuo; spargendo il sangue delle ostie sull'altare e mangiandone poi le carni.
28 Be careful to heed all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you and with your children after you for ever, when you do what is good and right in the sight of the LORD your God.	28 Osserva ed ascolta tutto quello che ti comando, se vuoi aver bene tu e i tuoi figli dopo di te per sempre, quando avrai fatto quello che è buono e gradito al cospetto del Signore Dio tuo.
29 "When the LORD your God cuts off before you the nations whom you go in to dispossess, and you dispossess them and dwell in their land,	29 Quando il Signore Dio tuo avrà sterminate dinanzi a te le nazioni che andrai a spodestare, quando le avrai spodestate e ne abiterai la terra,
30 take heed that you be not ensnared to follow them, after they have been destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire about their gods, saying, 'How did these nations serve their gods?--that I also may do likewise.'	30 guardati dall'imitarle, dopo averle al tuo arrivo distrutte, e dal ricercarne le cerimonie, dicendo: Come queste nazioni hanno adorato i loro dèi, così li adorerò anch'io.
31 You shall not do so to the LORD your God; for every abominable thing which the LORD hates they have done for their gods; for they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.	31 Non far così verso il Signore Dio tuo; perchè tutte le abbominazioni odiate dal Signore esse le fecero verso i loro dèi, offrendo i loro figli e le loro figlie, bruciandoli col fuoco.
32 "Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do; you shall not add to it or take from it.	32 Quello che ti comando, quello solo ta per il Signore, senza aggiungere nè levar nulla.
