Ezekiel 29

1 In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me:	1 Nel decimo anno, il dodici del decimo mese, mi giunse la parola del Signore:
2 "Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt;	2 "Figlio dell'uomo, rivolgi la faccia contro il faraone, re d'Egitto, e profetizza contro di lui e contro tutto l'Egitto.
3 speak, and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his streams, that says, 'My Nile is my own; I made it.'	3 Parla e di': Così dice Dio, il Signore Dio: Eccomi contro di te, o faraone, re d'Egitto, grande coccodrillo che sta nel delta e che dice: "Mio è il delta, io l'ho fatto".
4 I will put hooks in your jaws, and make the fish of your streams stick to your scales; and I will draw you up out of the midst of your streams, with all the fish of your streams which stick to your scales.	4 Ecco, metterò ganci alle tue mascelle e farò che i pesci del tuo delta si attacchino alle tue squame, poi ti farò salire fuori del tuo delta con tutti i pesci del tuo delta attaccati alle tue squame.
5 And I will cast you forth into the wilderness, you and all the fish of your streams; you shall fall upon the open field, and not be gathered and buried. To the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the air I have given you as food.	5 Ti getterò nel deserto con tutti i pesci del tuo delta; cadrai in aperta campagna, non sarai raccolto né seppellito; ti do in pasto agli animali della terra e agli uccelli del cielo.
6 "Then all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the LORD. Because you have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel;	6 Tutti i regnanti d'Egitto riconosceranno che io sono il Signore, poiché furono un appoggio di canna alla casa d'Israele.
7 when they grasped you with the hand, you broke, and tore all their shoulders; and when they leaned upon you, you broke, and made all their loins to shake;	7 Quando ti afferrarono ti rompesti e si lacerarono tutta la palma. Quando ti si appoggiavano ti spezzasti e facesti vacillare i loro fianchi.
8 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will bring a sword upon you, and will cut off from you man and beast;	8 Perciò così dice il Signore Dio: Ecco, faccio venire la spada su di te e reciderò via uomini e animali.
9 and the land of Egypt shall be a desolation and a waste. Then they will know that I am the LORD. "Because you said, 'The Nile is mine, and I made it,'	9 Il paese d'Egitto diverrà una desolazione e una devastazione. Riconosceranno che io sono il Signore. Poiché disse: "Il delta è mio, io l'ho fatto",
10 therefore, behold, I am against you, and against your streams, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from Migdol to Syene, as far as the border of Ethiopia.	10 eccomi contro di te e il tuo delta: renderò il paese d'Egitto una devastazione della spada, desolazione da Migdòl ad Assuan, fino ai confini con l'Etiopia.
11 No foot of man shall pass through it, and no foot of beast shall pass through it; it shall be uninhabited forty years.	11 Non vi passerà più piede d'uomo, piede d'animale non vi passerà più e non sarà abitato per quarant'anni.
12 And I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of desolated countries; and her cities shall be a desolation forty years among cities that are laid waste. I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them among the countries.	12 Renderò il paese d'Egitto una desolazione tra i paesi più desolati e, tra le città devastate, le sue città saranno una desolazione per quarant'anni. Disseminerò gli Egiziani tra le genti e li disperderò per il mondo.
13 "For thus says the Lord GOD: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they were scattered;	13 Sì! Così dice il Signore Dio: Al termine dei quarant'anni radunerò gli Egiziani di tra i popoli dove furono disseminati.
14 and I will restore the fortunes of Egypt, and bring them back to the land of Pathros, the land of their origin; and there they shall be a lowly kingdom.	14 Capovolgerò la prigionia degli Egiziani e li ricondurrò al paese di Patros, al loro paese d'origine e là saranno un piccolo regno.
15 It shall be the most lowly of the kingdoms, and never again exalt itself above the nations; and I will make them so small that they will never again rule over the nations.	15 Tra i regni sarà piccolo e non si innalzerà più sopra le genti; li rimpicciolirò perché non opprimano le genti.
16 And it shall never again be the reliance of the house of Israel, recalling their iniquity, when they turn to them for aid. Then they will know that I am the Lord GOD."	16 Non sarà più per la casa d'Israele un appoggio fidato, ma denuncerà la colpa di quando si rivolgeva a lui. Riconosceranno che io sono il Signore Dio".
17 In the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me:	17 Nel ventisettesimo anno, all'inizio, il primo del mese, mi giunse la seguente parola del Signore:
18 "Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made his army labor hard against Tyre; every head was made bald and every shoulder was rubbed bare; yet neither he nor his army got anything from Tyre to pay for the labor that he had performed against it.	18 "Figlio dell'uomo, Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia, ha richiesto al suo esercito una faticosa prestazione contro Tiro. Ogni testa è tosata e ogni dorso è teso, ma non venne premio alcuno per lui e per il suo esercito da Tiro, per la prestazione sostenuta contro di essa.
19 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall carry off its wealth and despoil it and plunder it; and it shall be the wages for his army.	19 Perciò così dice il Signore Dio: Ecco, io do a Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia, il paese d'Egitto; gli toglierà la potenza, lo deprederà, ne farà bottino; così esso sarà il premio per il suo esercito!
20 I have given him the land of Egypt as his recompense for which he labored, because they worked for me, says the Lord GOD.	20 Come guadagno per la prestazione contro Tiro gli do il paese d'Egitto; perché l'hanno fatto per me, oracolo del Signore Dio.
21 "On that day I will cause a horn to spring forth to the house of Israel, and I will open your lips among them. Then they will know that I am the LORD."	21 Allora farò sorgere il potere per la casa d'Israele e renderò autorevole la tua bocca in mezzo a loro. Riconosceranno che io sono il Signore".
