1 In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me:	1 - L'anno decimo, nel decimo mese, agli undici del mese, il Signore mi comunicò la sua parola dicendo:
2 "Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt;	2 «Figlio dell'uomo, volgi la faccia contro Faraone re di Egitto e profetizza sopra di lui e sopra l'Egitto tutto intero.
3 speak, and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his streams, that says, 'My Nile is my own; I made it.'	3 Parlerai e dirai: - Così dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi a te, o Faraone, re di Egitto, mostro smisurato, che stai sdraiato in mezzo ai tuoi fiumi e dici: Mio è il fiume e io mi son fatto da me!
4 I will put hooks in your jaws, and make the fish of your streams stick to your scales; and I will draw you up out of the midst of your streams, with all the fish of your streams which stick to your scales.	4 Ma io ti metterò un raffio alle mascelle e appiccicherò i pesci dei tuoi fiumi alle tue squame e ti estrarrò fuori di mezzo ai tuoi fiumi, con tutti i pesci attaccati alle tue squame.
5 And I will cast you forth into the wilderness, you and all the fish of your streams; you shall fall upon the open field, and not be gathered and buried. To the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the air I have given you as food.	5 E ti getterò sul deserto con tutti i pesci del tuo fiume, cadrai disteso sulla faccia del suolo, non sarai raccolto, nè raccattato, ti ho dato in pasto alle bestie della terra e agli uccelli del cielo;
6 "Then all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the LORD. Because you have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel;	6 e tutti gli abitatori dell'Egitto conosceranno che io sono il Signore; perchè sei stato un sostegno di canna per la casa di Israele;
7 when they grasped you with the hand, you broke, and tore all their shoulders; and when they leaned upon you, you broke, and made all their loins to shake;	7 quando si afferrarono a te colla mano, ti sei schiantato e hai lacerato loro tutta l'ascella, e quando cercarono su di te un appoggio, ti sei spezzato e hai slogato loro tutte le reni -».
8 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will bring a sword upon you, and will cut off from you man and beast;	8 Per questo così dice il Signore Dio: «Ecco che io avventerò contro di te la spada e ti ucciderò gli uomini e gli animali.
9 and the land of Egypt shall be a desolation and a waste. Then they will know that I am the LORD. "Because you said, 'The Nile is mine, and I made it,'	9 E la terra d'Egitto diventerà un deserto e una solitudine, e si conoscerà che io sono il Signore, perchè hai detto: - Il fiume è mio, sono io che l'ho fatto. -
10 therefore, behold, I am against you, and against your streams, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from Migdol to Syene, as far as the border of Ethiopia.	10 Per questo, eccomi a te e ai tuoi fiumi, e ridurrò la terra di Egitto erme solitudini, devastata che sarà dalla spada, dalla torre di Siene fino alla frontiera dell'Etiopia.
11 No foot of man shall pass through it, and no foot of beast shall pass through it; it shall be uninhabited forty years.	11 Non passerà per essa piede umano, nè passo di animale vi transiterà, e per quarant'anni non sarà più abitata.
12 And I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of desolated countries; and her cities shall be a desolation forty years among cities that are laid waste. I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them among the countries.	12 E lascerò la terra d'Egitto deserta, in mezzo a terre deserte e le sue città distrutte in mezzo a città distrutte e resteranno nell'abbandono quarant'anni; e disperderò gli Egiziani tra le nazioni e li disseminerò per ogni terra».
13 "For thus says the Lord GOD: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they were scattered;	13 Perchè così dice il Signore Dio: «Al termine di quarant'anni raccoglierò l'Egitto dai popoli tra i quali era stato disperso,
14 and I will restore the fortunes of Egypt, and bring them back to the land of Pathros, the land of their origin; and there they shall be a lowly kingdom.	14 e ricondurrò dalla schiavitù quei d'Egitto e li ristabilirò nella terra di Patures, nella loro terra natale, e quivi formeranno un regno meschino.
15 It shall be the most lowly of the kingdoms, and never again exalt itself above the nations; and I will make them so small that they will never again rule over the nations.	15 Tra gli altri regni sarà la nazione più meschina e non si solleverà più sopra le nazioni, e li farò sminuire affinchè non signoreggino le genti.
16 And it shall never again be the reliance of the house of Israel, recalling their iniquity, when they turn to them for aid. Then they will know that I am the Lord GOD."	16 Non ispireranno più oltre confidenza alla casa d'Israele, suggerendo iniquamente che voltino faccia per andar dietro a loro; e conosceranno che io sono il Signore Dio».
17 In the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me:	17 E avvenne nell'anno ventesimosettimo, nel primo mese, il primo del mese, che il Signore mi comunicò la sua parola dicendo:
18 "Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made his army labor hard against Tyre; every head was made bald and every shoulder was rubbed bare; yet neither he nor his army got anything from Tyre to pay for the labor that he had performed against it.	18 «Figlio dell'uomo, Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia ha costretto le sue soldatesche a un lungo servizio contro Tiro; tutte le teste sono calve e spellate le spalle, e non ritrasse compenso alcuno nè per sè nè pel suo esercito da Tiro per il servizio prestatomi contro di essa».
19 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall carry off its wealth and despoil it and plunder it; and it shall be the wages for his army.	19 Perciò, così dice il Signore Dio: «Ecco che io condurrò Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia nella terra d'Egitto e porterà via tutta una moltitudine e darà il sacco e farà bottino, e sarà questo un compenso per le sue soldatesche
20 I have given him the land of Egypt as his recompense for which he labored, because they worked for me, says the Lord GOD.	20 e per l'opera prestata contro a Tiro; gli ho concesso la terra d'Egitto in cambio delle fatiche che ha sostenuto per me, dice il Signore Dio.
21 "On that day I will cause a horn to spring forth to the house of Israel, and I will open your lips among them. Then they will know that I am the LORD."	21 In quel giorno rigermoglierà la potenza alla casa d'Israele e ti concederò di aprir la tua bocca in mezzo agli altri; e sapranno che io sono il Signore».
