1 How the Lord in his anger has set the daughter of Zion under a cloud! He has cast down from heaven to earth the splendor of Israel; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.	1 Alef Come il Signore ha coperto con la oscurità nel suo furore la figliuola di Sion! Dal cielo ha gettato giù Israel, e nel dì del suo furore non s'ha ricordato del scabello de' suoi piedi nella (generosa e) inclita terra.
2 The Lord has destroyed without mercy all the habitations of Jacob; in his wrath he has broken down the strongholds of the daughter of Judah; he has brought down to the ground in dishonor the kingdom and its rulers.	2 Bet Ha gittato da alto tutte le preziose cose di Iacob, e non gli ha perdonato; nel suo furore ha distrutto le fortezze della vergine di Giuda, e halle gittate in terra; ha maculato il regno e li suoi principi.
3 He has cut down in fierce anger all the might of Israel; he has withdrawn from them his right hand in the face of the enemy; he has burned like a flaming fire in Jacob, consuming all around.	3 Ghimel Egli ha fracassato nell' ira del suo furore ogni potente forza d' Israel; ha rivoltato a drieto la sua destra della faccia dell' inimico; e ha bruciato Iacob a modo di fuoco divorante con la fiamma per dintorno.

9 Her gates have sunk into the ground; he has ruined and broken her bars; her king and princes are among the nations; the law is no more, and her prophets obtain no vision from the LORD.	9 Tet Le sue porte sono ruinate in terra; egli ha perduto e fracassato le sue serrature, e il suo re e li suoi principi nelle genti; non v'è più legge, e li suoi profeti non hanno trovato la visione dal Signore.
10 The elders of the daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have cast dust on their heads and put on sackcloth; the maidens of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.	10 Iod Sedettero in terra, tacettero li antiqui della figliuola di Sion; si sparsero loro capi con la cenere, sonsi vestiti con i cilicii; inclinorono in terra li suoi capi le vergini di Ierusalem.
11 My eyes are spent with weeping; my soul is in tumult; my heart is poured out in grief because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, because infants and babes faint in the streets of the city.	11 Caf Sono venuti a meno gli occhi miei per le lacrime, si sono conturbate le viscere mie; egli è sparto in terra il fegato mio sopra la afflizione della figliuola del populo mio, venendo a meno il piccolino e lattante nelle piazze della terra.
12 They cry to their mothers, "Where is bread and wine?" as they faint like wounded men in the streets of the city, as their life is poured out on their mothers' bosom.	12 Lamed Loro dissero alle sue madri: dove è il frumento e il vino? venendo a meno quasi feriti nelle piazze delle città, e spingendo fuori loro alme nel seno delle sue madri.
13 What can I say for you, to what compare you, O daughter of Jerusalem? What can I liken to you, that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? 14 Your prophets have seen for you false and deceptive visions; they have not exposed your iniquity to restore your fortunes, but have seen for you oracles false and misleading.	14 Nun Li tuoi profeti di te videro le cose false e stolte, e non aprivano la tua iniquità acciò che ti provocasseno a penitenza; etiam di te vedettero le assunzioni false, e le deiezioni.
15 All who pass along the way clap their hands at you; they hiss and wag their heads at the daughter of Jerusalem; "Is this the city which was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of all the earth?"	15 Samec Tutti che passavano per la via si percossero le mani sopra di te; sibilorono e movettero li capi suoi sopra la figliuola di Ierusalem, dicendo: or non è questa la città che era di perfetta bellezza, e gaudio dell' universa terra?
16 All your enemies rail against you; they hiss, they gnash their teeth, they cry: "We have destroyed her! Ah, this is the day we longed for; now we have it; we see it!"	16 Fe Tutti i tuoi inimici apersero sopra di te la bocca sua; sibilorono, e strinsero li denti, e dissero: noi la divoreremo; ecco, che questo egli è il giorno che noi aspettavamo; abbiamolo trovato e veduto.
17 The LORD has done what he purposed, has carried out his threat; as he ordained long ago, he has demolished without pity; he has made the enemy rejoice over you, and exalted the might of your foes.	17 Ain Fece Iddio quello egli pensoe, adempì il parlare suo, il quale avea comandato dalli giorni antiqui; egli distrusse, non perdonoe; sopra di te rallegrò l' inimico, ed esaltò li molti tuoi osti.
18 Cry aloud to the Lord! O daughter of Zion! Let tears stream down like a torrent day and night! Give yourself no rest, your eyes no respite!	18 Sade Loro core gridò al Signore sopra le mura della figliuola di Sion: come il (fiume) torrente, spingi le lacrime per lo die e per la notte; a te non dare riposo, e non taccia (ovvero cessi) la pupilla del tuo occhio.
19 Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches! Pour out your heart like water before the presence of the Lord! Lift your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint for hunger at the head of every street.	19 Cof Lèvati, lauda nella notte, nel principio delle vigilie; spargi come acqua il cuore tuo inanzi il conspetto del Signore; a lui leva le mani per l'auima. de' tuoi piccolini, imperò che periscono per fame in capo di tutte le strade.
20 Look, O LORD, and see! With whom hast thou dealt thus? Should women eat their offspring, the children of their tender care? Should priest and prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?	20 Res Vedi, Signore, e considera colui che a tal modo hai vendemmiato; adunque or mangeranno le femine il suo frutto, li fanciulli alla mensura del palmo? a tal modo uccidesi il sacerdote e il profeta nel santuario del Signore?
21 In the dust of the streets lie the young and the old; my maidens and my young men have fallen by the sword; in the day of thy anger thou hast slain them, slaughtering without mercy.	21 Sin Giacquero in terra di fuori il fanciullo e il vecchio; le mie vergini e li miei giovani cadettero nel coltello; nel giorno del tuo furore uccidestili; percotesti, e non hai avuto misericordia.
22 Thou didst invite as to the day of an appointed feast my terrors on every side; and on the day of the anger of the LORD none escaped or survived; those whom I dandled and reared my enemy destroyed.	22 Tau Chiamasti quasi al di solenne coloro che mi spaventassero per dintorno; e non vi fu nel giorno del furore del Signore cui fuggisse e fosse lasciato; quelli ch' io elevai e nutrii, l' inimico li consumoe.
