Jeremiah 31

1 "At that time, says the LORD, I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people."	1 In quel tempo, dice il Signore, io sarò Dio a tutte le famiglie d’Israele, ed essi mi saran popolo.
2 Thus says the LORD: "The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness; when Israel sought for rest,	2 Così ha detto il Signore: Il popolo scampato dalla spada trovò grazia nel deserto, allora che io andava per dar riposo ad Israele.
3 the LORD appeared to him from afar. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.	3 Anticamente avvenne che il Signore mi appariva. Anzi io ti ho amata d’un amore eterno; perciò anche ho usata continua benignità inverso te.
4 Again I will build you, and you shall be built, O virgin Israel! Again you shall adorn yourself with timbrels, and shall go forth in the dance of the merrymakers.	4 Ancora ti edificherò, e sarai edificata, o vergine d’Israele; ancora sarai adorna de’ tuoi tamburi, ed uscirai con danze d’uomini sollazzanti.
5 Again you shall plant vineyards upon the mountains of Samaria; the planters shall plant, and shall enjoy the fruit.	5 Ancora pianterai delle vigne ne’ monti di Samaria; e quelli che le avranno piantate ne corranno il frutto per uso loro comune.
6 For there shall be a day when watchmen will call in the hill country of Ephraim: 'Arise, and let us go up to Zion, to the LORD our God.'"	6 Perciocchè vi è un giorno, nel quale le guardie grideranno nel monte di Efraim: Levatevi, e saliamo in Sion, al Signore Iddio nostro.
7 For thus says the LORD: "Sing aloud with gladness for Jacob, and raise shouts for the chief of the nations; proclaim, give praise, and say, 'The LORD has saved his people, the remnant of Israel.'	7 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signore: Fate grida di allegrezza per Giacobbe, e strillate in capo delle genti; risonate, cantate lodi, e dite: O Signore, salva il tuo popolo, il rimanente d’Israele.
8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the farthest parts of the earth, among them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her who is in travail, together; a great company, they shall return here.	8 Ecco, io li adduco dal paese di Settentrione, e li raccolgo dal fondo della terra; fra loro saranno ciechi, e zoppi, donne gravide, e donne di parto, tutti insieme; ritorneranno qua in gran raunanza.
9 With weeping they shall come, and with consolations I will lead them back, I will make them walk by brooks of water, in a straight path in which they shall not stumble; for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my first-born.	9 Saranno andati con pianto; ma io li farò ritornare con supplicazioni; e li condurrò a’ torrenti d’acque, per una strada diritta, nella quale non s’intopperanno; perciocchè io son padre ad Israele, ed Efraim è il mio primogenito
10 "Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare it in the coastlands afar off; say, 'He who scattered Israel will gather him, and will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.'	10 O genti, ascoltate la parola del Signore, e annunziatela fra le isole lontane, e dite: Colui che ha sparso Israele lo raccoglierà, e lo guarderà come un pastore la sua mandra;
11 For the LORD has ransomed Jacob, and has redeemed him from hands too strong for him.	11 perciocchè il Signore ha riscattato Giacobbe, e l’ha riscosso di mano d’un più forte di lui.
12 They shall come and sing aloud on the height of Zion, and they shall be radiant over the goodness of the LORD, over the grain, the wine, and the oil, and over the young of the flock and the herd; their life shall be like a watered garden, and they shall languish no more.	12 E verranno e daranno grida di allegrezza nella sommità di Sion, e accorreranno a’ beni del Signore, al frumento, ed al mosto, ed all’olio, ed a’ frutti del minuto, e del grosso bestiame; e l’anima loro sarà come un orto inaffiato; e non saranno più in continui dolori.
13 Then shall the maidens rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old shall be merry. I will turn their mourning into joy, I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow.	13 Allora la vergine si rallegrerà nel ballo; e i giovani, e i vecchi tutti insieme; ed io cangerò il lor cordoglio in letizia, e li rallegrerò, e li consolerò del lor dolore.
14 I will feast the soul of the priests with abundance, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, says the LORD."	14 E inebbrierò l’anima de’ sacerdoti di grasso, e il mio popolo sarà saziato de’ miei beni, dice il Signore.
15 Thus says the LORD: "A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children; she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are not."	15 Così ha detto il Signore: Una voce è stata udita in Rama, un lamento, un pianto amarissimo: Rachele piange i suoi figliuoli, ha rifiutato d’essere consolata de’ suoi figliuoli, perciocchè non son più.
16 Thus says the LORD: "Keep your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears; for your work shall be rewarded, says the LORD, and they shall come back from the land of the enemy.	16 Così ha detto il Signore: Ritieni la tua voce di piangere, e i tuoi occhi di lagrimare; perciocchè vi è premio per la tua opera, dice il Signore; ed essi ritorneranno dal paese del nemico.
17 There is hope for your future, says the LORD, and your children shall come back to their own country.	17 E vi è ancora speranza per te alla fine, dice il Signore; e i tuoi figliuoli ritorneranno a’ lor confini
18 I have heard Ephraim bemoaning, 'Thou hast chastened me, and I was chastened, like an untrained calf; bring me back that I may be restored, for thou art the LORD my God.	18 Io ho pure udito Efraim che si rammaricava, dicendo: Tu mi hai castigato, ed io sono stato castigato, come un toro non ammaestrato; convertimi, ed io mi convertirò; conciossiachè tu sii il Signore Iddio mio.
19 For after I had turned away I repented; and after I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh; I was ashamed, and I was confounded, because I bore the disgrace of my youth.'	19 Perciocchè, dopo che sarò stato convertito, io mi pentirò; e dopo che sarò stato ammaestrato a riconoscermi, mi percoterò in su la coscia. Io son confuso, ed anche svergognato; perciocchè io porto il vituperio della mia giovanezza.
20 Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he my darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I do remember him still. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says the LORD.	20 È costui Efraim, mio figliuolo caro? è costui il fanciullo delle mie delizie? da che io parlai contro a lui, io mi son pure anche sempre ricordato di lui; perciò, le mie interiora son commosse per lui; io del tutto ne avrò pietà, dice il Signore.
21 "Set up waymarks for yourself, make yourself guideposts; consider well the highway, the road by which you went. Return, O virgin Israel, return to these your cities.	21 Rizzati de’ pilieri, poniti de’ monti di pietre per insegne, pon mente alla strada, al cammino che hai fatto; ritornatene, vergine d’Israele; ritorna a queste tue città.
22 How long will you waver, O faithless daughter? For the LORD has created a new thing on the earth: a woman protects a man."	22 Infino a quando andrai aggirandoti, figliuola ribella? conciossiachè il Signore abbia creata una cosa nuova nella terra: la femmina intornia l’uomo.
23 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: "Once more they shall use these words in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I restore their fortunes: 'The LORD bless you, O habitation of righteousness, O holy hill!'	23 Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Ancora sarà detta questa parola nel paese di Giuda, e nelle sue città, quando io li avrò ritratti di cattività: Il Signore ti benedica, o abitacolo di giustizia, o monte di santità.
24 And Judah and all its cities shall dwell there together, and the farmers and those who wander with their flocks.	24 E in esso abiteranno que’ di Giuda, e que’ di tutte le sue città insieme; i lavoratori, e quelli che vanno qua e là con le lor mandre.
25 For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish."	25 Perciocchè io avrò inebbriata l’anima assetata e stanca, ed avrò saziata ogni anima languente.
26 Thereupon I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me.	26 Per questo io mi sono svegliato, ed ho riguardato; e il mio sonno mi è stato dolce
27 "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast.	27 Ecco, i giorni vengono, dice il Signore, che io seminerò la casa d’Israele, e la casa di Giuda, di semenza d’uomini, e di semenza di animali.
28 And it shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up and break down, to overthrow, destroy, and bring evil, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, says the LORD.	28 Ed avverrà che, siccome io ho vigilato sopra loro, per divellere, e per diroccare, e per distruggere, e per disperdere, e per danneggiare, così vigilerò sopra loro, per edificare, e per piantare, dice il Signore.
29 In those days they shall no longer say: 'The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge.'	29 In que’ giorni non si dirà più: I padri han mangiato l’agresto, e i denti de’ figliuoli ne sono allegati.
30 But every one shall die for his own sin; each man who eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.	30 Ma ognuno morrà per la sua iniquità; chiunque mangerà l’agresto, i denti gli si allegheranno.
31 "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,	31 ECCO, i giorni vengono, dice il Signore, che io farò un nuovo patto con la casa d’Israele, e con la casa di Giuda.
32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant which they broke, though I was their husband, says the LORD.	32 Non già, qual fu il patto che io feci coi padri loro, quando io li presi per la mano, per trarli fuor del paese di Egitto; il qual mio patto essi han rotto; onde io li ho avuti a schifo, dice il Signore.
33 But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.	33 Perciocchè, questo è il patto, che io farò con la casa d’Israele, dopo que’ giorni, dice il Signore: Io metterò la mia Legge nel loro interiore, e la scriverò sopra il lor cuore; ed io sarò lor Dio, ed essi mi saranno popolo.
34 And no longer shall each man teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."	34 E non insegneranno più ciascuno il suo compagno, e il suo fratello, dicendo: Conoscete il Signore; perciocchè essi tutti, dal minore infino al maggiore di loro, mi conosceranno, dice il Signore; imperocchè io perdonerò loro la lor iniquità, e non mi ricorderò più del lor peccato
35 Thus says the LORD, who gives the sun for light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar--the LORD of hosts is his name:	35 Così ha detto il Signore, che ha dato il sole per la luce del dì, e gli ordini della luna, e delle stelle, per la luce della notte; che commuove il mare, onde le sue onde romoreggiano; il cui Nome è: Il Signor degli eserciti:
36 "If this fixed order departs from before me, says the LORD, then shall the descendants of Israel cease from being a nation before me for ever."	36 Se quegli ordini sono giammai da me cangiati, dice il Signore; anche potrà la progenie d’Israele cessare d’esser nazione davanti a me in perpetuo.
37 Thus says the LORD: "If the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth below can be explored, then I will cast off all the descendants of Israel for all that they have done, says the LORD."	37 Così ha detto il Signore: Se i cieli di sopra si possono misurare, e i fondamenti della terra di sotto si possono scandagliare, io altresì riproverò tutta la progenie d’Israele, per tutte le cose che hanno fatte, dice il Signore.
38 "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when the city shall be rebuilt for the LORD from the tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate.	38 Ecco, i giorni vengono, dice il Signore, che questa città sarà riedificata al Signore, dalla torre di Hananeel, infino alla porta del cantone.
39 And the measuring line shall go out farther, straight to the hill Gareb, and shall then turn to Goah.	39 E la funicella da misurare sarà ancora tratta lungo il colle di Gareb, e girerà verso Goa.
40 The whole valley of the dead bodies and the ashes, and all the fields as far as the brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be sacred to the LORD. It shall not be uprooted or overthrown any more for ever."	40 E tutta la valle de’ corpi morti, e delle ceneri, e tutti i campi infino al torrente Chidron, ed infino al canto della porta de’ cavalli, verso Oriente, sarà luogo sacro al Signore; essa non sarà giammai più diroccata, nè distrutta
