Jeremiah 23

1 "Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!" says the LORD.	1 Malheur aux pasteurs qui perdent et dispersent les brebis de mon pâturage - oracle de Yahvé!
2 Therefore thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who care for my people: "You have scattered my flock, and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for your evil doings, says the LORD.	2 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle Yahvé, le Dieu d'Israël, contre les pasteurs qui ont à paître mon peuple:vous avez dispersé mes brebis, vous les avez chassées et ne vous en êtes pas occupés. Eh bien! moi, je vaism'occuper de vous pour vos méfaits, oracle de Yahvé!
3 Then I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply.	3 Je rassemblerai moi-même le reste de mes brebis de tous les pays où je les aurai dispersées, et jeles ramènerai dans leur prairie: elles seront fécondes et se multiplieront.
4 I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, says the LORD.	4 Je susciterai pour elles des pasteurs qui les feront paître; elles n'auront plus crainte ni terreur;aucune ne se perdra, oracle de Yahvé!
5 "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.	5 Voici venir des jours - oracle de Yahvé - où je susciterai à David un germe juste; un roi régnera etsera intelligent, exerçant dans le pays droit et justice.
6 In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: 'The LORD is our righteousness.'	6 En ses jours, Juda sera sauvé et Israël habitera en sécurité. Voici le nom dont on l'appellera:"Yahvé-notre-Justice."
7 "Therefore, behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when men shall no longer say, 'As the LORD lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,'	7 Aussi voici venir des jours - oracle de Yahvé - où l'on ne dira plus: "Yahvé est vivant, qui a faitmonter les Israélites du pays d'Egypte",
8 but 'As the LORD lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.' Then they shall dwell in their own land."	8 mais: "Yahvé est vivant, qui a fait monter et rentrer la race de la maison d'Israël du pays du Nordet de tous les pays où il les avait dispersés, pour qu'ils demeurent sur leur propre sol."
9 Concerning the prophets: My heart is broken within me, all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, like a man overcome by wine, because of the LORD and because of his holy words.	9 Sur les prophètes. Mon coeur en moi est brisé, je tremble de tous mes membres. Je suis comme unhomme ivre, comme quelqu'un que le vin a dompté, à cause de Yahvé et de ses paroles saintes.
10 For the land is full of adulterers; because of the curse the land mourns, and the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. Their course is evil, and their might is not right.	10 Car le pays est rempli d'adultères; oui, à cause d'une malédiction, le pays est en deuil et lespacages du désert sont desséchés; les hommes courent au mal, ils dépensent leur force pour l'injustice.
11 "Both prophet and priest are ungodly; even in my house I have found their wickedness, says the LORD.	11 Oui, même le prophète et le prêtre sont des impies, jusqu'en ma Maison j'ai trouvé leur iniquité,oracle de Yahvé.
12 Therefore their way shall be to them like slippery paths in the darkness, into which they shall be driven and fall; for I will bring evil upon them in the year of their punishment, says the LORD.	12 Aussi leur voie va se changer pour eux en fondrière; engagés là, dans les ténèbres, ils yculbuteront. Car je vais amener sur eux un malheur, l'année de leur châtiment, oracle de Yahvé.
13 In the prophets of Samaria I saw an unsavory thing: they prophesied by Baal and led my people Israel astray.	13 Chez les prophètes de Samarie, j'ai vu l'insanité; ils prophétisaient au nom de Baal et égaraientmon peuple Israël.
14 But in the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies; they strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns from his wickedness; all of them have become like Sodom to me, and its inhabitants like Gomorrah."	14 Mais chez les prophètes de Jérusalem, j'ai vu l'horreur: l'adultère, l'obstination dans le mensonge,le soutien donné aux méchants pour que nul ne revienne de sa méchanceté. Ils sont tous pour moi commeSodome et ses habitants comme Gomorrhe!
15 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets: "Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and give them poisoned water to drink; for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has gone forth into all the land."	15 C'est pourquoi, ainsi parle Yahvé Sabaot contre les prophètes: Voici, je vais leur faire manger del'absinthe et leur faire boire de l'eau empoisonnée, car, venant des prophètes de Jérusalem, l'impiété s'estrépandue dans tout le pays.
16 Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, filling you with vain hopes; they speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.	16 Ainsi parle Yahvé Sabaot: N'écoutez pas les paroles de ces prophètes qui vous prophétisent; ilsvous dupent, ils débitent les visions de leur coeur, rien qui vienne de la bouche de Yahvé;
17 They say continually to those who despise the word of the LORD, 'It shall be well with you'; and to every one who stubbornly follows his own heart, they say, 'No evil shall come upon you.'"	17 ils osent dire à ceux qui me méprisent: "Yahvé a parlé; vous aurez la paix!" et à tous ceux quisuivent l'obstination de leur coeur: "Aucun mal ne vous arrivera!"
18 For who among them has stood in the council of the LORD to perceive and to hear his word, or who has given heed to his word and listened?	18 Mais qui donc a assisté au conseil de Yahvé pour voir et entendre sa parole? Qui a fait attention àsa parole et l'a entendue?
19 Behold, the storm of the LORD! Wrath has gone forth, a whirling tempest; it will burst upon the head of the wicked.	19 Voici un ouragan de Yahvé, sa fureur qui éclate, un ouragan se déchaîne, sur la tête des impies, ilfait irruption;
20 The anger of the LORD will not turn back until he has executed and accomplished the intents of his mind. In the latter days you will understand it clearly.	20 la colère de Yahvé ne se détournera pas qu'il n'ait accompli et réalisé les desseins de son coeur: Ala fin des jours, vous comprendrez cela clairement!
21 "I did not send the prophets, yet they ran; I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied.	21 Je n'ai pas envoyé ces prophètes, et ils courent! Je ne leur ai rien dit, et ils prophétisent!
22 But if they had stood in my council, then they would have proclaimed my words to my people, and they would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.	22 S'ils avaient assisté à mon conseil, ils auraient fait entendre mes paroles à mon peuple, ils lesauraient fait revenir de leur voie mauvaise et de la perversité de leurs actions!
23 "Am I a God at hand, says the LORD, and not a God afar off?	23 Ne serais-je un Dieu que de près - oracle de Yahvé - de loin ne serais-je plus un Dieu?
24 Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? says the LORD. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says the LORD.	24 Un homme peut-il se terrer dans des lieux cachés sans que je le voie? - oracle de Yahvé - Est-ceque le ciel et la terre je ne les remplis pas? Oracle de Yahvé.
25 I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in my name, saying, 'I have dreamed, I have dreamed!'	25 J'ai entendu comment parlent les prophètes qui prophétisent en mon nom le mensonge en disant:"J'ai eu un songe! J'ai eu un songe!"
26 How long shall there be lies in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy the deceit of their own heart,	26 Jusqu'à quand y aura-t-il au sein des prophètes des gens qui prophétisent le mensonge etannoncent l'imposture de leur coeur?
27 who think to make my people forget my name by their dreams which they tell one another, even as their fathers forgot my name for Baal?	27 Avec les songes qu'ils se racontent l'un à l'autre, ils s'ingénient à faire oublier mon Nom à monpeuple; ainsi leurs pères ont-ils oublié mon Nom au profit de Baal!
28 Let the prophet who has a dream tell the dream, but let him who has my word speak my word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat? says the LORD.	28 Le prophète qui a eu un songe, qu'il raconte un songe! Et celui qui tient de moi une parole, qu'ildélivre fidèlement ma parole! Qu'ont de commun la paille et le froment? - oracle de Yahvé -
29 Is not my word like fire, says the LORD, and like a hammer which breaks the rock in pieces?	29 Ma parole n'est-elle pas comme un feu? - oracle de Yahvé - N'est-elle pas comme un marteau quifracasse le roc?
30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, who steal my words from one another.	30 Aussi vais-je m'en prendre aux prophètes - oracle de Yahvé - qui se dérobent mutuellement mesparoles.
31 Behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, who use their tongues and say, 'Says the LORD.'	31 Je vais m'en prendre aux prophètes - oracle de Yahvé - qui agitent la langue pour émettre desoracles.
32 Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams, says the LORD, and who tell them and lead my people astray by their lies and their recklessness, when I did not send them or charge them; so they do not profit this people at all, says the LORD.	32 Je vais m'en prendre à ceux qui prophétisent des songes mensongers - oracle de Yahvé - qui lesracontent et égarent mon peuple par leurs mensonges et leur vantardise. Moi, je ne les ai pas envoyés, je ne leurai pas donné d'ordres, et ils ne sont d'aucune utilité à ce peuple, oracle de Yahvé.
33 "When one of this people, or a prophet, or a priest asks you, 'What is the burden of the LORD?' you shall say to them, 'You are the burden, and I will cast you off, says the LORD.'	33 Et quand ce peuple, ou un prophète, ou un prêtre, te demandera: "Quel est le fardeau de Yahvé?"Tu leur répondras: "C'est vous le fardeau, vous dont je vais me délester, oracle de Yahvé!"
34 And as for the prophet, priest, or one of the people who says, 'The burden of the LORD,' I will punish that man and his household.	34 Et le prophète, le prêtre ou celui du peuple qui dira: "Fardeau de Yahvé", je le visiterai cethomme-là, ainsi que sa maison.
35 Thus shall you say, every one to his neighbor and every one to his brother, 'What has the LORD answered?' or 'What has the LORD spoken?'	35 Ainsi parlerez-vous entre vous, entre frères: "Qu'a répondu Yahvé?" Ou: "Qu'a dit Yahvé?"
36 But 'the burden of the LORD' you shall mention no more, for the burden is every man's own word, and you pervert the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.	36 Mais vous ne mentionnerez plus le "Fardeau de Yahvé", car le fardeau est pour chacun sa propreparole. Et vous pervertissez les paroles du Dieu vivant, Yahvé Sabaot, notre Dieu!
37 Thus you shall say to the prophet, 'What has the LORD answered you?' or 'What has the LORD spoken?'	37 Tu parleras ainsi au prophète: "Que t'a répondu Yahvé?" Ou: "Qu'a dit Yahvé?"
38 But if you say, 'The burden of the LORD,' thus says the LORD, 'Because you have said these words, "The burden of the LORD," when I sent to you, saying, "You shall not say, 'The burden of the LORD,"	38 Mais si vous dites "Fardeau de Yahvé", alors, ainsi parle Yahvé: Puisque vous employez cetteexpression "Fardeau de Yahvé" alors que je vous ai fait avertir de ne plus dire "Fardeau de Yahvé",
39 therefore, behold, I will surely lift you up and cast you away from my presence, you and the city which I gave to you and your fathers.	39 à cause de cela je vous soulèverai et je vous jetterai loin de ma face, vous et la Ville que j'avaisdonnée à vous et à vos pères.
40 And I will bring upon you everlasting reproach and perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.'"	40 Et je mettrai sur vous un opprobre éternel, une confusion éternelle et inoubliable!
