Isaiah 58

1 "Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet; declare to my people their transgression, to the house of Jacob their sins.	1 Chama fortemente, não cesses, levanta como trombeta a tua voz, e anuncia ao meu povo as suas maldades, à casa de Jacob os seus pecados.
2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake the ordinance of their God; they ask of me righteous judgments, they delight to draw near to God.	2 Todos os dias me buscam, querem saber os meus caminhos, como um povo que tivesse praticado a justiça e não tivesse abandonado a lei do seu Deus. Fazem-me perguntas sobre os juízos justos; querem aproximar-se de Deus.
3 'Why have we fasted, and thou seest it not? Why have we humbled ourselves, and thou takest no knowledge of it?' Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure, and oppress all your workers.	3 Para que jejuar, (dizem eles), se não olhas para nós? Para que humilhar as nossas almas, se não prestas atenção? É porque (responde Deus) no dia do vosso jejum tratais dos vossos negócios e oprimis todos os vossos trabalhadores.
4 Behold, you fast only to quarrel and to fight and to hit with wicked fist. Fasting like yours this day will not make your voice to be heard on high.	4 Jejuais, prosseguindo demandas e contendas, ferindo com o punho malvadamente. Não jejueis daqui por diante, como tendes feito até hoje, se quereis que seja ouvido no alto o vosso clamor.
5 Is such the fast that I choose, a day for a man to humble himself? Is it to bow down his head like a rush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and a day acceptable to the LORD?	5 Acaso o jejum, que eu aprecio, consiste em afligir um homem a sua alma por um dia? Curvar a cabeça como um junco, deitar-se sobre o saco e a cinza - a isto chamarás tu jejum e dia agradável ao Senhor?
6 "Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?	6 Porventura o jejum, que eu aprecio, não consiste nisto: em desatar as ligaduras da impiedade, em desapertar os nós do jugo, em deixar ir livres aqueles que estão oprimidos e em quebrar toda a espécie de jugo?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?	7 Não consiste em repartir o teu pão com o que tem fome, em albergar os infelizes sem abrigo, em vestir o nu, em vez de desprezares a tua carne (o teu próximo ou irmão)?
8 Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you, the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.	8 Então romperá a tua luz como a aurora, e a tua saúde mais depressa nascerá, e a tua justiça irá adiante da tua face, e a glória do Senhor atrás de ti.
9 Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, Here I am. "If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,	9 Então invocarás o Senhor, e ele te atenderá; clamarás, e ele te dirá: Eis-me aqui. Se tirares do meio de ti a cadeia (com que oprimes o próximo) e deixares o gesto ameaçador e o falar ofensivo;
10 if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.	10 se deres pão ao faminto e saciares a alma aflita, nascerá nas trevas a tua luz, e as tuas trevas tornar-se-ão como o meio-dia.
11 And the LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your desire with good things, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.	11 O Senhor te guiará perpetuamente, saciará a tua alma no deserto, dará vigor aos teus ossos, e serás como um jardim bem regado, como uma fonte cujas águas nunca faltarão.
12 And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.	12 Os teus descendentes repararão as ruínas antigas, tu levantarás os fundamentos das gerações antigas, e serás chamado reparador de brechas e restaurador das casas em ruínas.
13 "If you turn back your foot from the sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the sabbath a delight and the holy day of the LORD honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly;	13 Se não pisares aos pés o sábado, se não tratares dos teus negócios no meu santo dia, se chamares ao sábado as tuas delícias, venerável o dia santo do Senhor, se o solenizares, não seguindo os teus caminhos, não tratando dos teus negócios e não dizendo palavras (vãs),
14 then you shall take delight in the LORD, and I will make you ride upon the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken."	14 então te deleitarás no Senhor, e eu te elevarei às alturas da terra, far-te-ei gozar da herança de Jacob, teu pai. A boca do Senhor falou.
