Isaiah 28

1 Woe to the proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of its glorious beauty, which is on the head of the rich valley of those overcome with wine!	1 Jaj a büszke koszorúnak, melyet Efraim részegei viselnek, és pompás ékessége hervadó virágának; akik a termékeny völgy övezte csúcson bortól tántorognak!
2 Behold, the Lord has one who is mighty and strong; like a storm of hail, a destroying tempest, like a storm of mighty, overflowing waters, he will cast down to the earth with violence.	2 Íme, az Úr erőse, hatalmasa, mint jeges zápor, pusztító vihar, mint hatalmas, ömlő vizek áradata, a földre dönt erős kézzel.
3 The proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim will be trodden under foot;	3 Lábbal tiporják majd Efraim részegeinek büszke koszorúját;
4 and the fading flower of its glorious beauty, which is on the head of the rich valley, will be like a first-ripe fig before the summer: when a man sees it, he eats it up as soon as it is in his hand.	4 és úgy jár pompás ékességének hervadó virága a termékeny völgy övezte csúcson, mint a korai füge a nyári érés előtt: ha meglátja valaki, még tenyerén van, s máris lenyeli.
5 In that day the LORD of hosts will be a crown of glory, and a diadem of beauty, to the remnant of his people;	5 Azon a napon a Seregek Ura ékes koszorúja és pompás koronája lesz népe maradékának;
6 and a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.	6 igazság lelke azoknak, akik igazságot szolgáltatnak, és erő azoknak, akik a harcot a kapunál visszaszorítják.
7 These also reel with wine and stagger with strong drink; the priest and the prophet reel with strong drink, they are confused with wine, they stagger with strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in giving judgment.	7 De ezek is a bortól tántorognak, és az italtól támolyognak; pap és próféta tántorog az italtól, megzavarodnak a bortól, támolyognak az italtól, tántorognak látomás közben, dülöngélnek ítélethozatal közben.
8 For all tables are full of vomit, no place is without filthiness.	8 Mert minden asztal úgy tele van hányadékkal és szennyel, hogy semmi hely sem marad.
9 "Whom will he teach knowledge, and to whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, those taken from the breast?	9 Kit akar ez tudásra tanítani? Kivel akarja megértetni a kijelentést? Tejtől elválasztott csecsemőkkel, akiket épp most vettek le anyjuk kebléről.
10 For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little."	10 Csak parancs parancsra, parancs parancsra, szabály szabályra, szabály szabályra, egy kicsi itt, egy kicsi ott.
11 Nay, but by men of strange lips and with an alien tongue the LORD will speak to this people,	11 Dadogó ajkkal és idegen nyelven beszélt ehhez a néphez az,
12 to whom he has said, "This is rest; give rest to the weary; and this is repose"; yet they would not hear.	12 aki ezt mondta nekik: »Ez a nyugalom, csak hagyjátok a fáradtat nyugodni! Ez a megnyugvás!« De nem akarták meghallani.
13 Therefore the word of the LORD will be to them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little; that they may go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.	13 Ezért ez számukra az Úr szava: »Parancs parancsra, parancs parancsra, szabály szabályra, szabály szabályra, egy kicsi itt, egy kicsi ott«, hogy jártukban hanyatt essenek, és összetörjék magukat, hálóba akadjanak és fogságba kerüljenek.
14 Therefore hear the word of the LORD, you scoffers, who rule this people in Jerusalem!	14 Ezért halljátok az Úr szavát, ti elbizakodottak, akik uralkodtok ezen a népen, mely Jeruzsálemben van!
15 Because you have said, "We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we have an agreement; when the overwhelming scourge passes through it will not come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood we have taken shelter";	15 Mert azt mondjátok: »Szövetségre léptünk a halállal, és az alvilággal kötöttünk szerződést; ha eljön a suhogó ostor, nem ér el minket, mert a hazugságot tettük menedékünkké, és a hamisságban rejtőztünk el.«
16 therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: 'He who believes will not be in haste.'	16 Ezért így szól az Úristen: »Íme, leteszek alapul egy követ Sionon, kipróbált követ, értékes szegletkövet, szilárd alapot; aki hisz, nem menekül el.
17 And I will make justice the line, and righteousness the plummet; and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and waters will overwhelm the shelter."	17 A jogot teszem mérőzsinórrá, és az igazságot mérőónná; jégeső söpri el a hazugság menedékét, és a rejtekhelyet vizek árasztják el.
18 Then your covenant with death will be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand; when the overwhelming scourge passes through you will be beaten down by it.	18 Megsemmisül szövetségtek a halállal, és szerződéstek az alvilággal nem marad fenn; ha eljön a suhogó ostor, összezúz titeket.
19 As often as it passes through it will take you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be sheer terror to understand the message.	19 Ahányszor csak eljön, elér titeket; mert minden reggel lesújt, nappal és éjjel is, és csak rémület lesz megérteni a kijelentést.«
20 For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on it, and the covering too narrow to wrap oneself in it.	20 Mert rövid lesz az ágy, hogy kinyújtózzanak, és a takaró keskeny, hogy beburkolózzanak.
21 For the LORD will rise up as on Mount Perazim, he will be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon; to do his deed-- strange is his deed! and to work his work-- alien is his work!	21 Mert mint a Peraszim hegyén, felkel az Úr, mint Gibeon völgyében, haragra gerjed, hogy végbevigye tettét – szokatlan lesz tette; hogy végrehajtsa művét – különös lesz műve.
22 Now therefore do not scoff, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard a decree of destruction from the Lord GOD of hosts upon the whole land.	22 Most tehát ne bízzátok el magatokat, nehogy még szorosabbak legyenek bilincseitek! Mert elhatározott megsemmisítést hallottam az Úrtól, a Seregek Istenétől az egész föld számára.
23 Give ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.	23 Fogjátok fel fületekkel és halljátok meg hangomat, figyeljetek és hallgassatok beszédemre!
24 Does he who plows for sowing plow continually? does he continually open and harrow his ground?	24 Vajon egész nap szánt a szántóvető, hogy vessen? Mindig hasogatja és barázdálja földjét?
25 When he has leveled its surface, does he not scatter dill, sow cummin, and put in wheat in rows and barley in its proper place, and spelt as the border?	25 Nemde, ha elegyengette felszínét, elhinti a kaprot, és köményt szór; ültet búzát, kölest meg árpát a kijelölt helyre, és tönkölyt a szélére?
26 For he is instructed aright; his God teaches him.	26 Mert így nevelte rendre, így tanította őt Istene.
27 Dill is not threshed with a threshing sledge, nor is a cart wheel rolled over cummin; but dill is beaten out with a stick, and cummin with a rod.	27 Mert nem cséplőszánnal csépelik a kaprot, és a kocsi kereke nem forog a kömény felett, hanem vesszővel verik ki a kaprot, és a köményt bottal.
28 Does one crush bread grain? No, he does not thresh it for ever; when he drives his cart wheel over it with his horses, he does not crush it.	28 Talán összezúzzák a kenyérgabonát? Bizony, nem csépeli azt örökké a cséplő, és nem morzsolja a kocsi kereke, s lovaival sem zúzza össze.
29 This also comes from the LORD of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom.	29 Ez is a Seregek Urától származik, csodásan hajtotta végre tervét, megmutatta nagy bölcsességét.
