Proverbs 11

1 A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, but a just weight is his delight.	1 El Señor aborrece las balanzas falseadas, pero le agradan las pesas exactas.
2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace; but with the humble is wisdom.	2 Junto con la arrogancia llega la ignominia, pero la sabiduría está con los humildes.
3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.	3 La integridad guía a los hombres rectos, pero la perversidad arruina a los traidores.
4 Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.	4 La fortuna no sirve de nada en el día de la ira, pero la justicia libra de la muerte.
5 The righteousness of the blameless keeps his way straight, but the wicked falls by his own wickedness.	5 La justicia del hombre íntegro allana su camino, pero el malvado cae por su maldad.
6 The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the treacherous are taken captive by their lust.	6 La justicia libra a los hombres rectos, pero los traidores quedan atrapados por su avidez.
7 When the wicked dies, his hope perishes, and the expectation of the godless comes to nought.	7 Cuando muere el malvado, se desvanece toda esperanza y se esfuma la confianza puesta en las riquezas.
8 The righteous is delivered from trouble, and the wicked gets into it instead.	8 El justo es librado del peligro y en lugar de él cae el malvado.
9 With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.	9 El impío arruina al prójimo con su boca, pero los justos se salvan por su experiencia.
10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; and when the wicked perish there are shouts of gladness.	10 Cuando los justos son felices, se alegra la ciudad, cuando perecen los malvados, se oyen gritos de alegría.
11 By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.	11 Con la bendición de los hombres rectos se levanta una ciudad, la boca de los malvados la destruye.
12 He who belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding remains silent.	12 El que desprecia a su prójimo es un insensato, y el hombre inteligente sabe callar.
13 He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing hidden.	13 El chismoso revela los secretos, pero el hombre fiel guarda la debida reserva.

20 Men of perverse mind are an abomination to the LORD, but those of blameless ways are his delight.	20 Los corazones tortuosos son abominables para el Señor, pero los que caminan con integridad gozan de su favor.
21 Be assured, an evil man will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will be delivered.	21 Tarde o temprano, el malo no quedará impune, pero la descendencia de los justos se salvará.
22 Like a gold ring in a swine's snout is a beautiful woman without discretion.	22 Anillo de oro en la trompa de un cerdo es la mujer hermosa pero falta de juicio.
23 The desire of the righteous ends only in good; the expectation of the wicked in wrath.	23 Los justos no desean más que el bien, y los malvados sólo pueden esperar el furor.
24 One man gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.	24 Uno da generosamente y acrecienta su haber, otro ahorra más de la cuenta y acaba en la indigencia.
25 A liberal man will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.	25 El hombre generoso prosperará, y al que da de beber le saciarán la sed.

27 He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but evil comes to him who searches for it.	27 El que busca ardientemente el bien se gana el favor, pero al que busca el mal, el mal lo alcanzará.
28 He who trusts in his riches will wither, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.	28 El que confía en su riqueza se marchita, pero los justos crecerán como el follaje.
