1 A Prayer of David. Incline thy ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.	1 Prière; de David. Écoute, Seigneur, et réponds-moi! Ne vois-tu pas comme je suis misérable?
2 Preserve my life, for I am godly; save thy servant who trusts in thee. Thou art my God;	2 Veille sur ma vie, ne suis-je pas ton fidèle? Sauve ton serviteur qui a confiance en toi.
3 be gracious to me, O Lord, for to thee do I cry all the day.	3 Seigneur, mon Dieu, aie pitié de moi quand tout le jour je crie vers toi.
4 Gladden the soul of thy servant, for to thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.	4 Vers toi, Seigneur, j’élève mon âme: fais donc plaisir à ton serviteur!
5 For thou, O Lord, art good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on thee.	5 Tu es bon, Seigneur, et tu pardonnes, et tu es plein d’égards pour ceux qui t’invoquent.
6 Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; hearken to my cry of supplication.	6 Écoute ma prière, Seigneur, prête attention à mes appels de détresse.
7 In the day of my trouble I call on thee, for thou dost answer me.	7 Je t’invoque au temps de mes épreuves: tu me répondras.
8 There is none like thee among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like thine.	8 Nul n’est comme toi, Seigneur, parmi les dieux, où trouver des œuvres comme les tiennes?
9 All the nations thou hast made shall come and bow down before thee, O Lord, and shall glorify thy name.	9 Tous les païens viendront, Seigneur, pour t’adorer, ils rendront gloire à ton nom.
10 For thou art great and doest wondrous things, thou alone art God.	10 Car tu es grand et tu fais des merveilles, toi seul es Dieu.
11 Teach me thy way, O LORD, that I may walk in thy truth; unite my heart to fear thy name.	11 Enseigne-moi tes chemins, que je marche dans ta vérité, que mon cœur soit entier dans la crainte de ton Nom.
12 I give thanks to thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify thy name for ever.	12 De tout cœur je te louerai, Seigneur, je rendrai gloire à ton nom à jamais
13 For great is thy steadfast love toward me; thou hast delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.	13 pour la faveur si grande que tu m’as faite: tu m’as épargné la descente chez les morts.
14 O God, insolent men have risen up against me; a band of ruthless men seek my life, and they do not set thee before them.	14 Ô Dieu, des arrogants s’en prennent à moi, une bande de violents en veulent à ma vie, des gens qui ne pensent pas à Dieu.
15 But thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.	15 Mais toi, Seigneur, Dieu de tendresse et de pitié, lent à la colère, riche en grâce et fidélité,
16 Turn to me and take pity on me; give thy strength to thy servant, and save the son of thy handmaid.	16 communique ta force à ton serviteur, sauve le fils de ta servante, tourne-toi, prends pitié de moi
17 Show me a sign of thy favor, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because thou, LORD, hast helped me and comforted me.	17 et fais-moi la faveur d’un miracle! Mes ennemis verront - ils en seront humiliés - que toi, Seigneur, tu m’as aidé, tu m’as relevé.
