1 To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Psalm of David. Answer me when I call, O God of my right! Thou hast given me room when I was in distress. Be gracious to me, and hear my prayer.	1 Allorché io lo invocai esaudimmi il Dio di mia giustizia: tu nella tribolazione mi apristi strada spaziosa. Abbi pietà di me, ed esaudisci la mia preghiera.
2 O men, how long shall my honor suffer shame? How long will you love vain words, and seek after lies? [Selah]	2 Figliuoli degli uomini, e fino a quando avrete stupido il cuore? E perché amate voi la vanità, e andate dietro alla menzogna?
3 But know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him.	3 Or ponete mente, come il Signore ha renduto mirabile il suo santo: il Signore mi esaudirà quando io alzerò verso di lui la mia voce.
4 Be angry, but sin not; commune with your own hearts on your beds, and be silent. [Selah]	4 Adiratevi, ma guardatevi dal peccare: pentitevi ne' vostri letti delle cose, che andate dicendo ne' vostri cuori.
5 Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the LORD.	5 Sagrificate sagrifizio di giustizia, e confidate nel Signore: molti dicono: Chi farà a noi vedere il bene?
6 There are many who say, "O that we might see some good! Lift up the light of thy countenance upon us, O LORD!"	6 La luce della tua faccia è impressa sopra di noi: tu nel cuor mio infondesti letizia.
7 Thou hast put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound.	7 Per la copia del loro frumento, del vino, e dell'olio si sono moltiplicati.
8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for thou alone, O LORD, makest me dwell in safety.	8 In pace insieme io dormirò, e mi riposerò;
	9 Perocché tu solo, o Signore, mi hai fondato nella speranza.
