Tobit 7

1 When they reached Ecbatana and arrived at the house of Raguel, Sarah met them and greeted them. They returned her greeting, and she brought them into the house.	1 Essi entrarono da Raguele, che li accolse con gioia,
2 Then Raguel said to his wife Edna, "How much the young man resembles my cousin Tobit!"	2 e, mirando Tobia, disse ad Anna sua moglie: « Quanto rassomiglia a mio cugino questo giovane! »
3 And Raguel asked them, "Where are you from, brethren?" They answered him, "We belong to the sons of Naphtali, who are captives in Nineveh."	3 Detto questo, domandò loro: « Di dove siete, o giovani nostri fratelli? » Essi risposero: « Della tribù di Nettali, della cattività di Ninive ».
4 So he said to them, "Do you know our brother Tobit?" And they said, "Yes, we do." And he asked them, "Is he in good health?"	4 E Raguele a loro: « Allora conoscete Tobia mio fratello? » Risposero: « Lo conosciamo ».
5 They replied, "He is alive and in good health." And Tobias said, "He is my father."	5 Siccome Raguole diceva molto bene di Tobia, l'angelo gli disse: « Tobia del quale ci parli, è padre di lui ».
6 Then Raguel sprang up and kissed him and wept.	6 Raguele gli si gettò al collo e, coprendolo di lacrime e baci, esclamò singhiozzando sul collo di lui:
7 And he blessed him and exclaimed, "Son of that good and noble man!" When he heard that Tobit had lost his sight, he was stricken with grief and wept.	7 Sii benedetto, figlio mio, che sei figliolo di un uomo dabbene, anzi ottimo ».
8 And his wife Edna and his daughter Sarah wept. They received them very warmly; and they killed a ram from the flock and set large servings of food before them. Then Tobias said to Raphael, "Brother Azarias, speak of those things which you talked about on the journey, and let the matter be settled."	8 La sua moglie Anna e la loro figlia Sara si misero a piangere.
9 So he communicated the proposal to Raguel. And Raguel said to Tobias, "Eat, drink, and be merry;	9 Dopo aver parlato, Raguele ordinò di uccidere un ariete e di preparare un convito; ma quando li pregò di porsi a mensa,
10 for it is your right to take my child. But let me explain the true situation to you.	10 Tobia disse: « Io non mungerò nè berrò qui oggi, se tu prima non mi concedi quanto ti chiedo, e non mi prometti di darmi in moglie Sara tua figlia: ».
11 I have given my daughter to seven husbands, and when each came to her he died in the night. But for the present be merry." And Tobias said, "I will eat nothing here until you make a binding agreement with me."	11 A queste parole Raguele fu pieno di spavento, perchè, sapendo quant'era accaduto a quei sette mariti, temeva che lo stesso avvenisse a lui. Siccome esitava e non dava risposta alla richiesta di Tobia,
12 So Raguel said, "Take her right now, in accordance with the law. You are her relative, and she is yours. The merciful God will guide you both for the best."	12 l'angelo gli disse: « Non temere di darla a questo giovane: nessun altro l'ha potuta avere, perchè di lui che teme Dio doveva esser moglie tua figlia ».
13 Then he called his daughter Sarah, and taking her by the hand he gave her to Tobias to be his wife, saying, "Here she is; take her according to the law of Moses, and take her with you to your father." And he blessed them.	13 Allora Raguele disse: « Non dubito che il Signore abbia ammesso al suo cospetto le mie preghiere e le mie lacrime,
14 Next he called his wife Edna, and took a scroll and wrote out the contract; and they set their seals to it.	14 e credo che appunto per questo vi abbia fatti venire da me, affinchè essa si sposi ad un suo parente, secondo la legge di Mosè. Or non dubitare, te la darò ».
15 Then they began to eat.	15 Presa la mano destra della sua figlia e postala nella mano destra di Tobia, disse: « Il Dio d'Abramo, il Dio d'Isacco, il Dio di Giacobbe sia con voi, lui vi unisca, e adempia in voi la sua benedizione ».
16 And Raguel called his wife Edna and said to her, "Sister, make up the other room, and take her into it."	16 Presa poi della carta, fecero la scrittura di matrimonio,
17 so she did as he said, and took her there; and the girl began to weep. But the mother comforted her daughter in her tears, and said to her,	17 e dopo mangiarono, benedicendo Dio.
18 "Be brave, my child; the Lord of heaven and earth grant you joy in place of this sorrow of yours. Be brave, my daughter."	18 Raguele, chiamata Anna sua moglie, le ordinò di preparare un'altra camera.
	19 Essa vi condusse Sara, sua figlia, la quale si mise a piangere.
	20 Anna le disse: «Fatti coraggio, figlia mia: il Signore del cielo ti dia gioie da ricompensarti di quanto hai sofferto ».
