1 Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in Babylonia, in the house of the archives where the documents were stored.	1 Allora il re Dario ordinò che si ricercasse nell’archivio, nel luogo dove si riponevano i tesori in Babilonia.
2 And in Ecbatana, the capital which is in the province of Media, a scroll was found on which this was written: "A record.	2 E fu trovato in Ecbatana, nel palazzo reale, ch’era nella provincia di Media, un libro, nel quale era scritto: Memoria:
3 In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king issued a decree: Concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, let the house be rebuilt, the place where sacrifices are offered and burnt offerings are brought; its height shall be sixty cubits and its breadth sixty cubits,	3 L’anno primo del re Ciro, il re Ciro ordinò, intorno alla Casa di Dio in Gerusalemme, ch’essa fosse riedificata, per essere un luogo dove si sacrificassero sacrificii; e che i suoi fondamenti fossero saldi e forti; e che la sua altezza fosse di sessanta cubiti, e la sua lunghezza parimente di sessanta cubiti;
4 with three courses of great stones and one course of timber; let the cost be paid from the royal treasury.	4 e che vi fossero tre ordini di pietre pulite, e un ordine di travatura nuova; e che la spesa fosse fornita dal palazzo del re.
5 And also let the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that is in Jerusalem and brought to Babylon, be restored and brought back to the temple which is in Jerusalem, each to its place; you shall put them in the house of God."	5 Ed anche che gli arredi d’oro e d’argento della Casa di Dio, i quali Nebucadnesar avea tratti fuor del Tempio di Gerusalemme, e portati in Babilonia, fossero restituiti, e portati nel luogo loro, nel Tempio di Gerusalemme, e fossero posti nella Casa di Dio.
6 "Now therefore, Tattenai, governor of the province Beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai, and your associates the governors who are in the province Beyond the River, keep away;	6 Ora tu, Tattenai, governatore di là dal fiume, e tu, Setar-boznai, e voi lor colleghi Afarsechei, che siete di là dal fiume, ritraetevi di là;
7 let the work on this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews rebuild this house of God on its site.	7 e lasciate continuar l’opera di cotesta Casa di Dio. Riedifichino il governatore de’ Giudei, e gli Anziani loro, cotesta Casa di Dio nel suo luogo.
8 Moreover I make a decree regarding what you shall do for these elders of the Jews for the rebuilding of this house of God; the cost is to be paid to these men in full and without delay from the royal revenue, the tribute of the province from Beyond the River.	8 Ed intorno a ciò che voi avete a fare inverso cotesti Anziani de’ Giudei, per riedificar cotesta Casa di Dio, io ordino, che delle entrate del re, che si traggono da’ tributi di di là dal fiume, le spese sieno prontamente fornite a quelle genti; acciocchè non si facciano restare;
9 And whatever is needed-- young bulls, rams, or sheep for burnt offerings to the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, or oil, as the priests at Jerusalem require-- let that be given to them day by day without fail,	9 e che sia loro dato giorno per giorno, senza alcun fallo, ciò che sarà necessario: buoi, e montoni, ed agnelli, per fare olocausti all’Iddio del cielo; e grano, sale, vino, ed olio, secondo che diranno i sacerdoti che sono in Gerusalemme.
10 that they may offer pleasing sacrifices to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king and his sons.	10 Acciocchè offeriscano sacrificii di soave adore all’Iddio del cielo; e preghino per la vita del re, e de’ suoi figliuoli.
11 Also I make a decree that if any one alters this edict, a beam shall be pulled out of his house, and he shall be impaled upon it, and his house shall be made a dunghill.	11 Ed anche da me è fatto un decreto, che, se alcuno fa altrimenti, una trave sia spiccata della sua casa, e sia rizzata, e ch’egli vi sia fatto morir sopra; e che della sua casa sia fatta una latrina, per questa cagione.
12 May the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow any king or people that shall put forth a hand to alter this, or to destroy this house of God which is in Jerusalem. I Darius make a decree; let it be done with all diligence."	12 E Dio, che ha stanziato quivi il suo Nome, distrugga ogni re e popolo che metterà la mano per mutar questo, e per disfar di nuovo cotesta Casa di Dio, che è in Gerusalemme. Io Dario ho fatto questo decreto; sia, senza indugio, messo ad esecuzione
13 Then, according to the word sent by Darius the king, Tattenai, the governor of the province Beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai, and their associates did with all diligence what Darius the king had ordered.	13 Allora Tattenai, governatore di qua dal fiume, e Setar-boznai, ed i lor colleghi, perciocchè il re Dario avea lor mandato un tal comandamento, prontamente l’eseguirono.
14 And the elders of the Jews built and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They finished their building by command of the God of Israel and by decree of Cyrus and Darius and Artaxerxes king of Persia;	14 E gli Anziani de’ Giudei edificarono, ed avanzarono l’opera, secondo la profezia del profeta Aggeo, e di Zaccaria, figliuolo d’Iddo. Essi adunque edificarono, e compierono l’edificio per comandamento dell’Iddio d’Israele, e per ordine di Ciro, di Dario, e di Artaserse, re di Persia.
15 and this house was finished on the third day of the month of Adar, in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.	15 E questa Casa fu finita al terzo giorno del mese di Adar, l’anno sesto del regno del re Dario.
16 And the people of Israel, the priests and the Levites, and the rest of the returned exiles, celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy.	16 E I figliuoli d’Israele, i sacerdoti, i Leviti, e gli altri d’infra quelli ch’erano stati in cattività, celebrarono la dedicazione di questa Casa di Dio con allegrezza.
17 They offered at the dedication of this house of God one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs, and as a sin offering for all Israel twelve he-goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.	17 E, per la dedicazione di questa Casa di Dio, offersero cento giovenchi, dugento montoni, e quattrocento agnelli; e per sacrificio per lo peccato per tutto Israele, dodici becchi, secondo il numero delle tribù d’Israele.
18 And they set the priests in their divisions and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God at Jerusalem, as it is written in the book of Moses.	18 E costituirono i sacerdoti nelle lor mute, e i Leviti ne’ loro spartimenti, per fare il servigio di Dio, che abita in Gerusalemme, secondo che è scritto nel libro di Mosè.
19 On the fourteenth day of the first month the returned exiles kept the passover.	19 Poi quelli ch’erano stati in cattività fecero la Pasqua al quartodecimo giorno del primo mese;
20 For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves together; all of them were clean. So they killed the passover lamb for all the returned exiles, for their fellow priests, and for themselves;	20 perciocchè i sacerdoti ed i Leviti si erano purificati di pari consentimento, ed erano tutti netti; e scannarono la Pasqua per tutti quelli ch’erano stati in cattività, e per li sacerdoti, lor fratelli, e per sè stessi.
21 it was eaten by the people of Israel who had returned from exile, and also by every one who had joined them and separated himself from the pollutions of the peoples of the land to worship the LORD, the God of Israel.	21 Così i figliuoli d’Israele, ch’erano ritornati dalla cattività, e tutti quelli che si erano ridotti a loro, separandosi dalla contaminazione delle genti del paese, per cercare il Signore Iddio d’Israele, mangiarono la Pasqua.
22 And they kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy; for the LORD had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, so that he aided them in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.	22 E celebrarono la festa degli Azzimi per sette giorni con allegrezza; perciocchè il Signore li avea rallegrati, avendo rivolto verso loro il cuore del re di Assiria, per dar loro aiuto e favore, nell’opera della Casa di Dio, dell’Iddio d’Israele
