1 Josiah kept a passover to the LORD in Jerusalem; and they killed the passover lamb on the fourteenth day of the first month.	1 Celebrò ancora Josia in Gerusalemme la Pasqua del Signore, la quale fu immolata ai quattordici del primo mese.
2 He appointed the priests to their offices and encouraged them in the service of the house of the LORD.	2 E fece, che i sacerdoti esercitassero le loro funzioni, e gli esortò a adempire il lor ministero nella casa del Signore.
3 And he said to the Levites who taught all Israel and who were holy to the LORD, "Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, built; you need no longer carry it upon your shoulders. Now serve the LORD your God and his people Israel.	3 E parimente disse ai Leviti, per le istruzioni dei quali tutto Israele era santificato al Signore: Ponete l'arca nel Santuario del tempio edificato da Salomone figliuolo di David, re d'Israele; perocché voi non la porterete più: ora voi servite al Signore Dio vostro, e al suo popolo d'Israele.
4 Prepare yourselves according to your fathers' houses by your divisions, following the directions of David king of Israel and the directions of Solomon his son.	4 E tenetevi pronti casa per casa, e famiglia per famiglia, secondo la distribuzione fatta di ciascheduno di voi, come ordinò David re d'Israele, e fu lasciato per iscritto da Salomone suo figliuolo.
5 And stand in the holy place according to the groupings of the fathers' houses of your brethren the lay people, and let there be for each a part of a father's house of the Levites.	5 E adempite il vostro ministero nel Santuario, osservando la distinzione delle famiglie, e delle schiere Levitiche.
6 And kill the passover lamb, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare for your brethren, to do according to the word of the LORD by Moses."	6 E dopo che vi sarete santificati, immolate fa Pasqua: e disponete anche i vostri fratelli, affinchè possano fare quello, che il Signore comandò per bocca di Mosè.
7 Then Josiah contributed to the lay people, as passover offerings for all that were present, lambs and kids from the flock to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bulls; these were from the king's possessions.	7 Oltre a ciò diede Josia a tutto il popolo, che si trovò alla solennità della Pasqua, tra agnelli, e capretti di branco, e altro bestiame minuto trenta mila capi, e anche tre mila bovi: tutto questo lo diede il re del suo.
8 And his princes contributed willingly to the people, to the priests, and to the Levites. Hilkiah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, the chief officers of the house of God, gave to the priests for the passover offerings two thousand six hundred lambs and kids and three hundred bulls.	8 E i suoi magnati parimente offrirono quello, che avevano spontaneamente promesso tanto al popolo, come ai sacerdoti, e ai Leviti. Ed Helcia, e Zacharia, e Jahiel, principi della casa del Signore, dettero in comune ai sacerdoti per far la Pasqua due mila secento agnelli, e trecento bovi.
9 Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethanel his brothers, and Hashabiah and Je-iel and Jozabad, the chiefs of the Levites, gave to the Levites for the passover offerings five thousand lambs and kids and five hundred bulls.	9 E Chonenia, e Semeia, e Nathanael, e i suoi fratelli, e Hasabia, e Jehiel, e Jozabad, principi de' Leviti, dettero agli altri Leviti per celebrare la Pasqua cinque mila agnelli, e cinquecento bovi.
10 When the service had been prepared for, the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their divisions according to the king's command.	10 E tutto fu preparato per la funzione, e i sacerdoti furon pronti all'ufficio loro: e similmente i Leviti divisi in ischiere secondo l'ordine del re.
11 And they killed the passover lamb, and the priests sprinkled the blood which they received from them while the Levites flayed the victims.	11 E fu immolata la Pasqua: e i sacerdoti sparsero colle loro mani il sangue, e i Leviti scorticavan gli olocausti.
12 And they set aside the burnt offerings that they might distribute them according to the groupings of the fathers' houses of the lay people, to offer to the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so they did with the bulls.	12 E li separarono per distribuirli casa per casa, e famiglia per famiglia, affinchè fossero offerti al Signore in quella maniera, che sta scritto nel libro di Mosè: e lo stesso fecero de' bovi.
13 And they roasted the passover lamb with fire according to the ordinance; and they boiled the holy offerings in pots, in caldrons, and in pans, and carried them quickly to all the lay people.	13 E fecero arrostire la Pasqua sul fuoco, conforme sta scritto nella legge: e le ostie pacifiche le cossero nelle pignatte, nelle caldaie, e pentole, e le distribuivano speditamente a tutta la plebe.
14 And afterward they prepared for themselves and for the priests, because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering the burnt offerings and the fat parts until night; so the Levites prepared for themselves and for the priests the sons of Aaron.	14 Per se poi, e pe' sacerdoti ne fecer cuocere in appresso: perocché fino alla notte furono occupati i sacerdoti nell'offerire gli olocausti, e il grasso: per la qual cosa i Leviti non approntaron per loro, e pe' sacerdoti figliuoli d'Aarone, se non dopo tutti gli altri.
15 The singers, the sons of Asaph, were in their place according to the command of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the gatekeepers were at each gate; they did not need to depart from their service, for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.	15 E i cantori figliuoli di Asaph erano intenti all'uffizio loro, secondo i precetti di David, e di Asaph, e di Heman, e d'Idithun profeti del re: e i portinaj stavano in sentinella a ciascuna delle porte, talmente che né pure per un sol momento si distoglievano dal loro ministero: per la qual cosa anche per essi prepararono i Leviti loro fratelli da mangiare.
16 So all the service of the LORD was prepared that day, to keep the passover and to offer burnt offerings on the altar of the LORD, according to the command of King Josiah.	16 Fu adunque compiuto il culto del Signore in quel giorno secondo i riti nella celebrazione della Pasqua, e nell'oblazione degli olocausti sull'altare del Signore, secondo l'ordine del re Josia.
17 And the people of Israel who were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.	17 Così i figliuoli d'Israele, che ivi si ritrovarono, fecero allora la Pasqua, e la solennità degli azzimi per sette giorni.
18 No passover like it had been kept in Israel since the days of Samuel the prophet; none of the kings of Israel had kept such a passover as was kept by Josiah, and the priests and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel who were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	18 Non fu fatta mai simil Pasqua in Israele dal tempo di Samuele Profeta: e nissuno eziandio di tutti i re d'Israele fece la Pasqua come Josia co' sacerdoti, e Leviti, e con tutto Giuda, e con quel, che si trovò d'Israele, e cogli abitanti di Gerusalemme.
19 In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah this passover was kept.	19 Questa Pasqua fu celebrata l'anno diciottesimo di Josia.
20 After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Neco king of Egypt went up to fight at Carchemish on the Euphrates and Josiah went out against him.	20 Dopo che Josia ebbe ristampato il tempio, Nechao re d'Egitto si mosse per andare all'assedio dì Charcamis presso all'Eufrate: e Josia si mosse contro di lui.
21 But he sent envoys to him, saying, "What have we to do with each other, king of Judah? I am not coming against you this day, but against the house with which I am at war; and God has commanded me to make haste. Cease opposing God, who is with me, lest he destroy you."	21 Ma quegli mandò ambasciadori a lui, e gli fece dire: Che abbiam noi da disputare insieme, o re di Giuda? Io non porto adesso guerra a te, ma sì ad un'altra casa, contro la quale Dio mi ha comandato di andare senza dilazione: lascia di opponi a Dio, il quale è meco, affinchè egli non ti faccia perire.
22 Nevertheless Josiah would not turn away from him, but disguised himself in order to fight with him. He did not listen to the words of Neco from the mouth of God, but joined battle in the plain of Megiddo.	22 Josia non volle tornare indietro,ma si messe in punto per assalirlo: e non si acquietò alle parole di Nechao dette dalla parte di Dio; ma tirò innanzi per venir a battaglia nel campo di Mageddo.
23 And the archers shot King Josiah; and the king said to his servants, "Take me away, for I am badly wounded."	23 Ed ivi fu ferito di freccia, e disse a' suoi servi: Traetemi fuori della battaglia, perchè io son ferito gravemente.
24 So his servants took him out of the chariot and carried him in his second chariot and brought him to Jerusalem. And he died, and was buried in the tombs of his fathers. All Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.	24 E quelli lo trasportarono da quel cocchio sopra un altro, che gli andava dietro secondo l'uso dei re, e lo portarono a Gerusalemme; e morì, e fu sepolto nel mausoleo de' padri suoi: e tutto Giuda, e Gerusalemme lo piansero;
25 Jeremiah also uttered a lament for Josiah; and all the singing men and singing women have spoken of Josiah in their laments to this day. They made these an ordinance in Israel; behold, they are written in the Laments.	25 Ma più d'ogni altro Geremia: le lamentazioni del quale sopra Josia si rinovellano dai cantatori, e dalle cantatrici, fino a questo giorno, lo che prese piede come legge in Israele. Elle si trovano scritte tralle lamentazioni.
26 Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his good deeds according to what is written in the law of the LORD,	26 Il rimanente poi delle geste di Josia, e le sue buone opere, secondo precetti della legge del Signore;
27 and his acts, first and last, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.	27 E le azioni di lui le prime, e le ultime sono scritte nel libro dei re di Giuda, e d'Israele.
