2 Chronicles 30

1 Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the passover to the LORD the God of Israel.	1 Entonces Ezequías dio órdenes a todo Israel y Judá, y también escribió cartas a Efraím y a Manasés para que acudieran a la casa del Señor, en Jerusalén, a celebrar la Pascua en honor del Señor, el Dios de Israel.
2 For the king and his princes and all the assembly in Jerusalem had taken counsel to keep the passover in the second month--	2 El rey, sus jefes y toda la asamblea de Jerusalén se pusieron de acuerdo para celebrar esta Pascua en el segundo mes,
3 for they could not keep it in its time because the priests had not sanctified themselves in sufficient number, nor had the people assembled in Jerusalem--	3 ya que no habían podido celebrarla a su debido tiempo, porque los sacerdotes no se habían purificado en número suficiente y el pueblo no se había reunido en Jerusalén.
4 and the plan seemed right to the king and all the assembly.	4 Esto pareció bien al rey y a toda la asamblea,
5 So they decreed to make a proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beer-sheba to Dan, that the people should come and keep the passover to the LORD the God of Israel, at Jerusalem; for they had not kept it in great numbers as prescribed.	5 y decidieron anunciarlo a todo Israel, desde Berseba hasta Dan, para que fueran a celebrar la Pascua en honor del Señor, el Dios de Israel, en Jerusalén, porque la mayoría no la había celebrado como estaba prescrito.
6 So couriers went throughout all Israel and Judah with letters from the king and his princes, as the king had commanded, saying, "O people of Israel, return to the LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that he may turn again to the remnant of you who have escaped from the hand of the kings of Assyria.	6 Los enviados recorrieron todo Israel y Judá con las cartas del rey de sus jefes. En ellas se decía lo siguiente, conforme a la orden del rey: «Israelitas: vuelvan al Señor, el Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Israel, y él se volverá al resto que ha quedado de ustedes, y a los que han escapado de las manos de los reyes de Asiria.
7 Do not be like your fathers and your brethren, who were faithless to the LORD God of their fathers, so that he made them a desolation, as you see.	7 No sean como sus padres y sus hermanos, que se rebelaron contra el Señor, el Dios de sus padres, y por eso él los entregó a la devastación, como ustedes lo están viendo.
8 Do not now be stiff-necked as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the LORD, and come to his sanctuary, which he has sanctified for ever, and serve the LORD your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you.	8 No se obstinen como sus padres, extiendan sus manos hacia el Señor y entren en el Santuario que él ha santificado para siempre. Sirvan al Señor, su Dios, y el ardor de su ira se apartará de ustedes.
9 For if you return to the LORD, your brethren and your children will find compassion with their captors, and return to this land. For the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him."	9 Si ustedes se convierten al Señor, sus hermanos y sus hijos serán tratados con misericordia y por aquellos que los han deportado, y podrán volver a esta tierra, porque el Señor, su Dios, es bondadoso y compasivo: él no apartará su rostro de ustedes si ustedes vuelven a él».
10 So the couriers went from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, and as far as Zebulun; but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.	10 Los enviados fueron de ciudad en ciudad, por el territorio de Efraím y Manasés hasta Zabulón, pero todos se reían y se burlaban de ellos.
11 Only a few men of Asher, of Manasseh, and of Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.	11 Solamente algunos hombres de Aser, de Manasés y de Zabulón se sometieron y fueron a Jerusalén.
12 The hand of God was also upon Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the princes commanded by the word of the LORD.	12 Pero fue sobre todo en Judá donde la mano del Señor movió los corazones para que se cumpliera unánimemente la orden del rey de los jefes, conforme a la palabra del Señor.
13 And many people came together in Jerusalem to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great assembly.	13 Una gran multitud se reunió en Jerusalén para celebrar la fiesta de los Acimos en el segundo mes: fue una asamblea muy numerosa.
14 They set to work and removed the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for burning incense they took away and threw into the Kidron valley.	14 Primero retiraron los altares que había en Jerusalén y todos los altares para el incienso, y los arrojaron al torrente Cedrón.
15 And they killed the passover lamb on the fourteenth day of the second month. And the priests and the Levites were put to shame, so that they sanctified themselves, and brought burnt offerings into the house of the LORD.	15 Luego inmolaron la Pascua el día catorce del segundo mes. Llenos de compunción, los sacerdotes y los levitas se purificaron y ofrecieron holocaustos en el Templo del Señor.
16 They took their accustomed posts according to the law of Moses the man of God; the priests sprinkled the blood which they received from the hand of the Levites.	16 Ocuparon sus puestos, conforme al ritual según la ley de Moisés, el hombre de Dios, y los sacerdotes hacían aspersiones con la sangre que recibían de manos de los levitas.
17 For there were many in the assembly who had not sanctified themselves; therefore the Levites had to kill the passover lamb for every one who was not clean, to make it holy to the LORD.	17 Como en la asamblea había muchos que no se habían purificado, los levitas se encargaron de inmolar las víctimas pascuales de todos los que no estaban debidamente purificados para consagrarlos al Señor.
18 For a multitude of the people, many of them from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the passover otherwise than as prescribed. For Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, "The good LORD pardon every one	18 En efecto, una gran parte del pueblo, sobre todo de Efraím, de Manasés, de Isacar y de Zabulón, no se habían purificado y, sin embargo, comieron la Pascua sin ajustarse a los prescrito. Pero Ezequías rogó por ellos, diciendo: «¡Que el Señor por su bondad perdone
19 who sets his heart to seek God, the LORD the God of his fathers, even though not according to the sanctuary's rules of cleanness."	19 a todos los que están dispuestos a buscar de corazón a Dios, el Señor, el Dios de sus padres, aunque no tengan la pureza requerida para las cosas santas!».
20 And the LORD heard Hezekiah, and healed the people.	20 El Señor escuchó a Ezequías y perdonó al pueblo.
21 And the people of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness; and the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with all their might to the LORD.	21 Los israelitas que se encontraban en Jerusalén celebraron con alegría la fiesta de los Acimos durante siete días, mientras los levitas y los sacerdotes alababan diariamente al Señor con todas sus fuerzas.
22 And Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites who showed good skill in the service of the LORD. So the people ate the food of the festival for seven days, sacrificing peace offerings and giving thanks to the LORD the God of their fathers.	22 Ezequías habló cordialmente a todos los levitas que se habían aplicado con tanto acierto al servicio del Señor. Y así continuaron la solemnidad durante siete días, ofreciendo los sacrificios de comunión y alabando al Señor, el Dios de sus padres.
23 Then the whole assembly agreed together to keep the feast for another seven days; so they kept it for another seven days with gladness.	23 Luego toda la asamblea resolvió prolongar la fiesta siete días más, y así pasaron otros siete días de gran alegría.
24 For Hezekiah king of Judah gave the assembly a thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep for offerings, and the princes gave the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep. And the priests sanctified themselves in great numbers.	24 Porque Ezequías, rey de Judá, había reservado para la asamblea mil terneros y siete mil cabras y ovejas, mientras que los jefes habían aportado mil novillos y diez mil ovejas, y ya se habían purificado muchos sacerdotes.
25 The whole assembly of Judah, and the priests and the Levites, and the whole assembly that came out of Israel, and the sojourners who came out of the land of Israel, and the sojourners who dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.	25 Reinaba una gran alegría en toda la asamblea de Judá, lo mismo que entre los sacerdotes y levitas, entre los que habían llegado de Israel, los forasteros que llegaban del territorio de Israel y los habitantes de Judá.
26 So there was great joy in Jerusalem, for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there had been nothing like this in Jerusalem.	26 Hubo una alegría muy grande en Jerusalén, porque desde los tiempos de Salomón, hijo de David, rey de Israel, no había sucedido nada semejante en Jerusalén.
27 Then the priests and the Levites arose and blessed the people, and their voice was heard, and their prayer came to his holy habitation in heaven.	27 Después, los sacerdotes levíticos se pusieron a bendecir al pueblo: su voz fue escuchada y su oración llegó hasta la santa morada de Dios en el cielo.
