1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to David his father, at the place that David had appointed, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.	1 Salomone cominciò a edificare la casa del Signore in Gerusa­lemme sul monte Moria, che era stato indicato a David suo padre nel luogo da David preparato nell'aia di Ornan Gebuseo.
2 He began to build in the second month of the fourth year of his reign.	2 Ne cominciò la costruzione nel secondo mese, l'anno quarto del suo regno.
3 These are Solomon's measurements for building the house of God: the length, in cubits of the old standard, was sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.	3 Ecco i fondamenti che Salomone gettò per edificare la casa di Dio: lunghezza in cubiti di misura antica, sessanta; larghezza venti cubiti.
4 The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house; and its height was a hundred and twenty cubits. He overlaid it on the inside with pure gold.	4 Il portico davanti alla facciata, lungo quanto era larga la casa, aveva venti cubiti, ed era alto centoventi cubiti. Salomone lo fece indorare al di dentro con oro finissimo;
5 The nave he lined with cypress, and covered it with fine gold, and made palms and chains on it.	5 e rivestì la casa maggiore di tavole d'abete, e vi affisse sopra, da tutte le parti, lamine d'oro finissimo, e vi scolpi delle palme e delle catenelle intrecciate le une alle altre.
6 He adorned the house with settings of precious stones. The gold was gold of Parvaim.	6 Lastricò il pavimento del tempio di marmo preziosissimo con molte decorazioni.
7 So he lined the house with gold--its beams, its thresholds, its walls, and its doors; and he carved cherubim on the walls.	7 L'oro delle lamine con cui rivestì la casa, le sue travi, gli stipiti, le pareti e le porte era finissimo. Sulle pareti fece intagliare dei Cherubini.
8 And he made the most holy place; its length, corresponding to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and its breadth was twenty cubits; he overlaid it with six hundred talents of fine gold.	8 Fece anche la casa del Santo dei Santi, che era lunga venti cubiti, quanto la larghezza della casa, e larga pure venti cubiti. La rivesti di lamine d'oro del peso di circa seicento talenti.
9 The weight of the nails was one shekel to fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.	9 Fece pure dei chiodi d'oro, tali che ciascuno pesava cinquanta sicli. Rivestì d'oro anche le camere alte.
10 In the most holy place he made two cherubim of wood and overlaid them with gold.	10 Nella casa del Santo dei Santi fece due cherubini scolpiti, e li rivestì d'oro.
11 The wings of the cherubim together extended twenty cubits: one wing of the one, of five cubits, touched the wall of the house, and its other wing, of five cubits, touched the wing of the other cherub;	11 Le ali dei cherubini si stendevano per venti cubiti; e in modo che un'ala, di cinque cubiti, toccava la muraglia della casa, l'altra ala, pure di cinque cubiti, toccava l'ala dell'altro cherubino;
12 and of this cherub, one wing, of five cubits, touched the wall of the house, and the other wing, also of five cubits, was joined to the wing of the first cherub.	12 così pure un'ala dell'altro cherubino, di cinque cubiti, toc­cava la muraglia, e l'altra ala, di cinque cubiti, toccava l'ala dell'altro cherubino.
13 The wings of these cherubim extended twenty cubits; the cherubim stood on their feet, facing the nave.	13 Così le ali dei due cherubini, spiegate, si stendevano per venti cubiti: essi poi stavano ritti sui loro piedi colle faccie volte verso la casa esteriore.
14 And he made the veil of blue and purple and crimson fabrics and fine linen, and worked cherubim on it.	14 Fece anche il velo di giacinto, di porpora, di scarlatto e di bisso, e vi fece ricamare dei cherubini.
15 In front of the house he made two pillars thirty-five cubits high, with a capital of five cubits on the top of each.	15 Di più, dinanzi alla porta del tempio, fece due colonne di trentacinque cubiti d'altezza, con capitelli di cinque cubiti.
16 He made chains like a necklace and put them on the tops of the pillars; and he made a hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.	16 Fece pure delle catenelle, come nell'oracolo e le sovrappose ai capitelli delle colonne, e anche cento melagrane, che intrecciò nelle catenelle.
17 He set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the south, the other on the north; that on the south he called Jachin, and that on the north Boaz.	17 Queste colonne le collocò nel vestibolo del tempio, una a destra e l'altra a sinistra: quella a destra la chiamò Iachin; quella a sinistra Booz.
