1 Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty-five years old, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Abijah the daughter of Zechariah.	1 Ezechia adunque cominciò a regnare in età di venticinque anni; e ventinove anni regnò in Gerusalemme: sua madre si chiamò Abia, figliuola di Zacharia.
2 And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that David his father had done.	2 Ed egli fece quello, che era accetto negli occhi del Signore, imitando in tutto David suo padre.
3 In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the LORD, and repaired them.	3 Egli il primo anno, e il primo mese del suo regno aperse le porte della casa del Signore, e le ristauro:
4 He brought in the priests and the Levites, and assembled them in the square on the east,	4 E fece venire i sacerdoti, e i Leviti, e li raunò sulla piazza orientale.
5 and said to them, "Hear me, Levites! Now sanctify yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD, the God of your fathers, and carry out the filth from the holy place.	5 È disse loro: Ascoltatemi voi Leviti, e purificatevi; mondate la casa del Signore Dio de' padri vostri, e togliete dal Santuario tutte te immondezze;
6 For our fathers have been unfaithful and have done what was evil in the sight of the LORD our God; they have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs.	6 I padri nostri han peccato, e han fatto il male al cospetto del Signore Dio nostro, abbandonando lui: non han degnato di uno sguardo il tabernacolo del Signore, e gli han voltate le spalle
7 They also shut the doors of the vestibule and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense or offered burnt offerings in the holy place to the God of Israel.	7 Hanno chiuse le porte dell'atrio, ed hanno estinte le lampadi, e non han bruciato incenso, né offerti olocausti nel Santuario al Dio d'Israele.
8 Therefore the wrath of the LORD came on Judah and Jerusalem, and he has made them an object of horror, of astonishment, and of hissing, as you see with your own eyes.	8 Per questo si è acceso contro Giuda, e contro Gerusalemme il furor del Signore, il quale gli ha abbandonati alla dispersione, alla morte, e agli obbrobrj, come voi vedete cogli occhi vostri.
9 For lo, our fathers have fallen by the sword and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.	9 E i padri nostri son periti di spada: e i nostri figliuoli, e le nostre figlie, e le nostre mogli sono state menate schiave a causa di queste iniquità.
10 Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, that his fierce anger may turn away from us.	10 Adesso adunque piace a me, che noi facciamo patto col Signore Dio d'Israele; ed egli allontanerà da noi il furor dell'ira sua.
11 My sons, do not now be negligent, for the LORD has chosen you to stand in his presence, to minister to him, and to be his ministers and burn incense to him."	11 Figliuoli miei, non siate negghienti: voi elesse il Signore, perchè stiate davanti a lui, e lo serviate, e lo onoriate, e gli abbruciate l'incenso.
12 Then the Levites arose, Mahath the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites; and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehallelel; and of the Gershonites, Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah;	12 Allora si alzarono i Leviti: della stirpe di Caath, Mahath figliuolo di Amasai, e Joel figliuolo di Azaria: della stirpe di Merari, Cis figliuolo di Abdi, e Azaria figliuolo di Jalaleel. E della stirpe di Gersom, Joah figliuolo di Zemma, ed Eden figliuolo di Joah.
13 and of the sons of Eli-zaphan, Shimri and Jeuel; and of the sons of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah;	13 E della stirpe di Elisaphan, Samri, e Jahiel: della stirpe di Asaph, Zacharia, e Mathania.
14 and of the sons of Heman, Jehuel and Shime-i; and of the sons of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.	14 E de' figliuoli di Heman, Jahiel, e Semei: e de figliuoli d'Idithun, Semeia, e Oziel.
15 They gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and went in as the king had commanded, by the words of the LORD, to cleanse the house of the LORD.	15 E raunarono i loro fratelli, e si purificarono, ed entrarono secondo l'ordine del re, e secondo il comandamento del Signore nella casa di Dio per purificarla.
16 The priests went into the inner part of the house of the LORD to cleanse it, and they brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the LORD into the court of the house of the LORD; and the Levites took it and carried it out to the brook Kidron.	16 E parimente i sacerdoti entrati nel tempio del Signore per santificarlo, tutte le immondezze, che avean trovate dentro, le portarono nel vestibolo della casa del Signore; e i Leviti le tolsero, e le portaron fuora nel torrente Cedron.
17 They began to sanctify on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the month they came to the vestibule of the LORD; then for eight days they sanctified the house of the LORD, and on the sixteenth day of the first month they finished.	17 E cominciarono a ripulire il primo di del primo mese: e l'ottavo giorno dello stesso mese entrarono nel portico del tempio del Signore, e in otto giorni espiarono il tempio; e ai sedici dello stesso mese poser fine all'opera incominciata.
18 Then they went in to Hezekiah the king and said, "We have cleansed all the house of the LORD, the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the table for the showbread and all its utensils.	18 E andarono a trovare il re Ezechia, e gli dissero: Abbiam purificato tutta la casa del Signore, e l'altare degli olocausti, e i suoi vasi, e la mensa di proposizione con tutti i suoi vasi,
19 All the utensils which King Ahaz discarded in his reign when he was faithless, we have made ready and sanctified; and behold, they are before the altar of the LORD."	19 E tutte le suppellettili del tempio contaminate dal re Achaz, mentre regnò, dopo ch'egli ebbe prevaricato: ed ecco che tutte queste cose sono esposte dinanzi all'altare del Signore.
20 Then Hezekiah the king rose early and gathered the officials of the city, and went up to the house of the LORD.	20 E il re Ezechia si levò di gran mattino, e convocati tutti i magnati della città, salì alla casa del Signore.
21 And they brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven he-goats for a sin offering for the kingdom and for the sanctuary and for Judah. And he commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the altar of the LORD.	21 E offersero insieme sette tori, e sette arieti, e sette agnelli, e sette capri per lo peccato, pel regno, pel Santuario, per Giuda: ed egli disse ai sacerdoti figliuoli d'Aarone, che gli offerissero sull'altare del Signore.
22 So they killed the bulls, and the priests received the blood and threw it against the altar; and they killed the rams and their blood was thrown against the altar; and they killed the lambs and their blood was thrown against the altar.	22 E i sacerdoti immolarono i tori, preso il sangue, lo sparsero sopra l'altare; e scannarono anche gli arieti, e il sangue di essi sparsero sopra l'altare, e immolaron gli agnelli, e ne sparsero il sangue sopra l'altare.
23 Then the he-goats for the sin offering were brought to the king and the assembly, and they laid their hands upon them,	23 E fatti venire i capri per lo peccato dinanzi al re, e a tutta la moltitudine, imposero a quelli le loro mani:
24 and the priests killed them and made a sin offering with their blood on the altar, to make atonement for all Israel. For the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.	24 E i sacerdoti gl'immolarono, e ne sparsero il sangue davanti all'altare in espiazione di tutto Israele: perocché il re avea comandato, che si facesse olocausto per tutto Israele, e per lo peccato.
25 And he stationed the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, harps, and lyres, according to the commandment of David and of Gad the king's seer and of Nathan the prophet; for the commandment was from the LORD through his prophets.	25 Egli ancora stabilì nella casa del Signore un numero di Leviti co' loro cimbali, e salteri, e celere secondo quello, che avean ordinato il re David, e Gad Veggente, e Nathan Profeta; perchè questo era comando dal Signore intimato per mezzo de' suoi profeti.
26 The Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.	26 E i Leviti stavan tenendo tralle lor mani gli strumenti di David, e i sacerdoti le trombe.
27 Then Hezekiah commanded that the burnt offering be offered on the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song to the LORD began also, and the trumpets, accompanied by the instruments of David king of Israel.	27 Ed Ezechia comandò, che si offerissero gli olocausti sopra l'altare: e mentre si offerivano gli olocausti, cominciaron quelli a cantare le lodi del Signore, e a sonare le trombe, e a fare armonia co' varj strumenti inventati da David re d'Israele.
28 The whole assembly worshiped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded; all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.	28 E mentre tutto il popolo faceva l'adorazione, i cantori, e quei, che tenevan le trombe, facevan l'uffìzio loro, per sino a tanto che fosse terminato l'olocausto.
29 When the offering was finished, the king and all who were present with him bowed themselves and worshiped.	29 Finita poi l'adorazione, il re con tutti quelli, che eran con lui, si prostrarono, e adorarono.
30 And Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praises to the LORD with the words of David and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed down and worshiped.	30 Ed Ezechia, e i principi ordinarono ai Leviti, che lodassero il Signore cogli inni di David, e di Asaph Profeta: e quelli cantaron laude con grande allegrezza, e piegate le ginocchia, adorarono.
31 Then Hezekiah said, "You have now consecrated yourselves to the LORD; come near, bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the house of the LORD." And the assembly brought sacrifices and thank offerings; and all who were of a willing heart brought burnt offerings.	31 Ed Ezechia soggiunse ancora: Voi vi siete consagrati al Signore; venite, e offerite vittime, e laudi nella casa del Signore. E tutta la moltitudine offerse vittime, e laudi, e olocausti con cuor divoto.
32 The number of the burnt offerings which the assembly brought was seventy bulls, a hundred rams, and two hundred lambs; all these were for a burnt offering to the LORD.	32 E il numero degli olocausti offerti dal popolo fu questo: settanta tori, cento arieti, dugento agnelli.
33 And the consecrated offerings were six hundred bulls and three thousand sheep.	33 E donarono al Signore secento bovi, e tre mila pecore.
34 But the priests were too few and could not flay all the burnt offerings, so until other priests had sanctified themselves their brethren the Levites helped them, until the work was finished--for the Levites were more upright in heart than the priests in sanctifying themselves.	34 Ma i sacerdoti erano in piccol numero, e non potevan supplire a scorticare gli olocausti: per la qual cosa i loro fratelli i Leviti gli aiutavano, sino a tanto che tutta la funzione fu compiuta, e furon consagrati dei sacerdoti: imperocché con rito più facile si consagrano i Leviti, che i sacerdoti.
35 Besides the great number of burnt offerings there was the fat of the peace offerings, and there were the libations for the burnt offerings. Thus the service of the house of the LORD was restored.	35 Cosi furon moltissimi gli olocausti, e i grassumi delle ostie pacifiche, e le libagioni degli olocausti: e fu rimesso in piedi il culto della casa del Signore.
36 And Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced because of what God had done for the people; for the thing came about suddenly.	36 Ed Ezechia, e tutto il popolo ebber grande allegrezza della ristaurazione del culto del Signore. Imperocché tal risoluzione era stata presa improvvisamente.
