1 When the rule of Rehoboam was established and was strong, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.	1 Amikor aztán megerősödött és megszilárdult Roboám királysága, elhagyta az Úr törvényét ő és vele egész Izrael.
2 In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, because they had been unfaithful to the LORD, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem	2 Fel is vonult Roboám uralkodásának ötödik esztendejében Sesák, Egyiptom királya Jeruzsálem ellen (mert vétkeztek az Úr ellen)
3 with twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen. 6 Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, "The LORD is righteous."	6 Megdöbbentek erre Izrael fejedelmei a királlyal együtt és azt mondák: »Igazságos az Úr!«
7 When the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah: "They have humbled themselves; I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.	7 Amikor így az Úr látta, hogy megalázkodtak, szózatot intézett az Úr Semejához: »Mivel megalázkodtak, nem pusztítom el őket, hanem egy kis segítséget adok nekik, hogy ne Sesák keze által szakadjon Jeruzsálemre haragom.
8 Nevertheless they shall be servants to him, that they may know my service and the service of the kingdoms of the countries."	8 Mindazonáltal szolgálniuk kell neki, hogy tudják a különbséget az én szolgálatom s a föld országainak szolgálata között.«
9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem; he took away the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king's house; he took away everything. He also took away the shields of gold which Solomon had made;	9 Sesák, Egyiptom királya csakugyan visszavonult Jeruzsálemből, de elvette az Úr házának és a király házának kincseit és mindenestül magával vitte: elvitte azokat az aranypajzsokat is, amelyeket Salamon készíttetett.
10 and King Rehoboam made in their stead shields of bronze, and committed them to the hands of the officers of the guard, who kept the door of the king's house.	10 Ezek helyett a király rézpajzsokat készíttetett és azokat adta át a palota bejáratát őrző pajzsosok vezéreinek.

13 So King Rehoboam established himself in Jerusalem and reigned. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his name there. His mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess.	13 Roboám aztán ismét megerősödött és tovább uralkodott Jeruzsálemben: negyvenegy esztendős volt, amikor uralkodni kezdett és tizenhét esztendeig uralkodott Jeruzsálemben, abban a városban, amelyet kiválasztott az Úr Izrael valamennyi törzse közül, hogy oda telepítse nevét. Anyját, aki ammonita volt, Naámának hívták.
14 And he did evil, for he did not set his heart to seek the LORD.	14 Gonoszat cselekedett és nem arra irányította szívét, hogy az Urat keresse.
15 Now the acts of Rehoboam, from first to last, are they not written in the chronicles of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer?
