1 Then Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, "Gird up your loins, and take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead.	1 O profeta Eliseu chamou um dos filhos dos profetas e disse-lhe: Cinge os teus rins, toma na mão este frasco de óleo e vai a Ramot de Galaad.
2 And when you arrive, look there for Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi; and go in and bid him rise from among his fellows, and lead him to an inner chamber.	2 Quando lá tiveres chegado, verás Jeú, filho de Josafat, filho de Nansi; depois de entrares, o tirarás do meio de seus irmãos e o levarás para um aposento retirado.
3 Then take the flask of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, 'Thus says the LORD, I anoint you king over Israel.' Then open the door and flee; do not tarry."	3 Tomando o frasco de óleo, lho derramarás sobre a cabeça e dirás: Eis o que diz o Senhor: Eu te ungi rei sobre Israel. Depois abrirás a porta e fugirás sem demora.
4 So the young man, the prophet, went to Ramoth-gilead.	4 O jovem criado do profeta partiu, pois, para Ramot de Galaad.
5 And when he came, behold, the commanders of the army were in council; and he said, "I have an errand to you, O commander." And Jehu said, "To which of us all?" And he said, "To you, O commander."	5 Quando lá chegou, os principais oficiais do exército estavam sentados (em reunião). Ele disse: Ó chefe, eu tenho uma palavra para te dizer. Jeú perguntou: A qual de nós queres tu falar? Ele respondeu: A ti, ó chefe.
6 So he arose, and went into the house; and the young man poured the oil on his head, saying to him, "Thus says the LORD the God of Israel, I anoint you king over the people of the LORD, over Israel.	6 Jeú, pois, levantou-se e entrou num quarto. O jovem derramou-lhe o óleo sobre a cabeça e disse-lhe: Eis o que diz o Senhor Deus de Israel: Eu te ungirei sobre o meu povo de Israel;
7 And you shall strike down the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge on Jezebel the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD.	7 exterminarás a casa de Acab, teu senhor, e vingarei o sangue dos profetas, meus servos, e o sangue, de todos os servos do Senhor, derramado por Jezabel.
8 For the whole house of Ahab shall perish; and I will cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel.	8 Destruirei toda a casa de Acab, matarei todo o indivíduo do sexo masculino da casa de Acab, escravo ou livre em Israel.
9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.	9 Tratarei a casa de Acab como a casa de Jeroboão, filho de Nabat, e como a casa de Baasa, filho de Ala .
10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the territory of Jezreel, and none shall bury her." Then he opened the door, and fled.	10 Quanto a Jezabel, os cães a comerão no campo de Jezrael, e não se achará quem a enterre. Dito isto, abriu a porta e fugiu.
11 When Jehu came out to the servants of his master, they said to him, "Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?" And he said to them, "You know the fellow and his talk."	11 Jeú saiu para onde estavam os oficiais do seu senhor, os quais lhe disseram: Vai tudo bem? Para que veio esse louco ter contigo? Ele respondeu-lhes: Vós bem conheceis esse homem e a sua maneira de falar.
12 And they said, "That is not true; tell us now." And he said, "Thus and so he spoke to me, saying, 'Thus says the LORD, I anoint you king over Israel.'"	12 Porém eles replicaram: Não é assim, conta-nos a verdade. Jeú disse-lhes: Ele disse-me tal e tal coisa— e acrescentou: Eis o que diz o Senhor; Eu ungi-te rei sobre Israel.
13 Then in haste every man of them took his garment, and put it under him on the bare steps, and they blew the trumpet, and proclaimed, "Jehu is king."	13 Levantaram-se então apressados e, tomando cada um a sua capa, puseram-na debaixo dos pés de Jeú, como uma espécie de tribunal, tocaram a trombeta e disseram: Jeú é (nosso) rei.
14 Thus Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram with all Israel had been on guard at Ramoth-gilead against Hazael king of Syria;	14 Jeú, pois, filho de Josafat, filho de Nanai, fez uma conjuração contra Jorão, no tempo em que Jorão, com todo o Israel, tinha cercado Ramot de Galaad, contra Hazael, rei da Síria;
15 but King Joram had returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) So Jehu said, "If this is your mind, then let no one slip out of the city to go and tell the news in Jezreel."	15 Jorão tinha voltado para se curar em Jezrael das feridas que lhe tinham feito os Sírios, quando pelejava contra Hazael, rei da Síria. Jeú disse: Se assim vos parece, ninguém saia nem fuja para fora da cidade, para que não vá dar a nova a Jezrael.
16 Then Jehu mounted his chariot, and went to Jezreel, for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to visit Joram.	16 Jeú partiu e marchou para Jezrael, porque Jorão estava lá doente, onde Ocozias, rei de Judá, o tinha ido visitar.
17 Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, "I see a company." And Joram said, "Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, 'Is it peace?"	17 Ora a sentinela, que estava no alto da torre de Jezrael, viu a tropa de Jeú, que ia avançando, e disse: Eu vejo um pelotão de gente. Jorão disse: Toma um carro e manda alguém ao seu encontro, a perguntar: Vai tudo bem?
18 So a man on horseback went to meet him, and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?" And Jehu said, "What have you to do with peace? Turn round and ride behind me." And the watchman reported, saying, "The messenger reached them, but he is not coming back."	18 O homem, pois, que tinha subido para o carro, foi ao encontro de Jeú e disse: O rei diz isto: Está tudo em paz? Jeú respondeu-lhe: Que tens tu com a paz? Passa para trás e segue-me. A sentinela deu também aviso, dizendo: O mensageiro chegou a eles, e não volta.
19 Then he sent out a second horseman, who came to them, and said, "Thus the king has said, 'Is it peace?" And Jehu answered, "What have you to do with peace? Turn round and ride behind me."	19 Jorão mandou ainda segundo carro de cavalos. O mensageiro chegou a eles e disse: O rei diz isto: Está tudo em paz? Jeú respondeu: Que tens tu com a paz? Passa para trás e segue-me.
20 Again the watchman reported, "He reached them, but he is not coming back. And the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously."	20 E a sentinela avisou, dizendo: (O mensageiro) chegou a eles e não volta. Todavia a maneira de conduzir parece a de Jeú, filho de Nansi, porque vem como um louco.
21 Joram said, "Make ready." And they made ready his chariot. Then Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah set out, each in his chariot, and went to meet Jehu, and met him at the property of Naboth the Jezreelite.	21 Jorão disse: Metam os cavalos ao carro. Meteram os cavalos ao seu carro, e saiu Jorão, rei de Israel, com Ocozias, rei de Judá, cada um no seu carro, saíram a encontrar-se com Jeú, e encontraram-no no campo de Nabot Jezraelita.
22 And when Joram saw Jehu, he said, "Is it peace, Jehu?" He answered, "What peace can there be, so long as the harlotries and the sorceries of your mother Jezebel are so many?"	22 Jorão, logo que viu Jeú, disse: Temos paz, Jeú? Mas ele respondeu-lhe: Que paz, enquanto duram as prostituições de Jezabel, tua mãe, e os seus muitos sortilégios?
23 Then Joram reined about and fled, saying to Ahaziah, "Treachery, O Ahaziah!"	23 Jorão voltou logo as rédeas e, fugindo, disse a Ocozias: Estamos traídos, Ocozias!
24 And Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and shot Joram between the shoulders, so that the arrow pierced his heart, and he sank in his chariot.	24 Porém, Jeú retesou o arco com a mão e feriu Jorão entre as espáduas, de forma que a seta lhe atravessou o coração, e ele caiu logo morto no seu carro.
25 Jehu said to Bidkar his aide, "Take him up, and cast him on the plot of ground belonging to Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember, when you and I rode side by side behind Ahab his father, how the LORD uttered this oracle against him:	25 Jeú disse ao capitão Badacer: Pega nele e lança-o no campo de Nabot, Jezraelita, porque eu lembro-me que, quando eu e tu, sentados no carro, seguíamos Acab, pal deste, o Senhor pronunciou esta (terrível) sentença contra ele, dizendo:
26 'As surely as I saw yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons--says the LORD--I will requite you on this plot of ground.' Now therefore take him up and cast him on the plot of ground, in accordance with the word of the LORD."	26 Eu juro, diz o Senhor, que neste campo vingarei em ti o sangue de Nabot e o sangue de seus filhos, que eu vi derramar ontem. Pega pois nele e lança-o no campo, conforme a palavra do Senhor.
27 When Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled in the direction of Beth-haggan. And Jehu pursued him, and said, "Shoot him also"; and they shot him in the chariot at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.	27 Ora, Ocozias, rei de Judá, ao ver isto, fugiu pelo caminho da casa do Jardim. Jeú foi atrás dele e disse: Matai também este no seu carro; e feriram-no na subida de Gaver, que está ao pé de Jeblaam. Ele fugiu para Magedo, e lá morreu.
28 His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.	28 Os seus servos puseram-no sobre o seu carro, levaram-no para Jerusalém e sepultaram-no no sepulcro de seus pais, na cidade de Davide.
29 In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab, Ahaziah began to reign over Judah.	29 No ano undécimo de Jorão, filho de Acab, Ocozias reinou sobre Judá.
30 When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and adorned her head, and looked out of the window.	30 E Jeú foi a Jezrael. Ora, Jezabel, tendo sabido da sua chegada, pintou os seus olhos, adornou a sua cabeça, e pôs-se a olhar, à janela.
31 And as Jehu entered the gate, she said, "Is it peace, you Zimri, murderer of your master?"	31 Quando Jeú entrava pela porta, ela disse: Que paz se pode esperar deste que, como Zambri, matou o seu senhor?
32 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, "Who is on my side? Who?" Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.	32 Jeú levantou o rosto para a janela e disse: Quem és tu? E dois ou três eunucos (que estavam com Jezabel) fizeram a Jeú uma profunda reverência.
33 He said, "Throw her down." So they threw her down; and some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses, and they trampled on her.	33 Ele disse-lhes: Precipitai-a daí abaixo. Eles a precipitaram, e a parede ficou salpicada de sangue, e as patas dos cavalos a pisaram.
34 Then he went in and ate and drank; and he said, "See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king's daughter."	34 Tendo Jeú entrado para comer e beber, disse: Ide ver aquela maldita e sepultai-a, porque é filha do rei.
35 But when they went to bury her, they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands.	35 Eles, tendo ido para a enterrar, não encontraram senão a caveira, os pés e as palmas das mãos.
36 When they came back and told him, he said, "This is the word of the LORD, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, 'In the territory of Jezreel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel;	36 E foram-no dizer a Jeú. Ele disse: Isto é o que o Senhor tinha pronunciado por Elias Tesbita, seu servo, dizendo: Os cães comerão a carne de Jezabel no campo de Jezrael,
37 and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the territory of Jezreel, so that no one can say, This is Jezebel.'"	37 e as carnes de Jezabel estarão no campo de Jezrael como o esterco sobre a face da terra, de sorte que os que passarem, não poderão dizer: Esta é Jezabel.
