1 In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel Azariah the son of Amaziah, king of Judah, began to reign.	1 La vingt-septième année de Jéroboam, roi d'Israël, Azarias, fils d'Amazias, roi de Juda, commença à régner.
2 He was sixteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.	2 Il avait seize ans lorsque son règne commença, et il régna cinquante-deux ans dans Jérusalem. Sa mère était de Jérusalem, et s'appelait Jéchélie.
3 And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.	3 Il fit ce qui était agréable au Seigneur, et il se conduisit en tout comme Amasias son père.
4 Nevertheless the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.	4 Néanmoins il ne détruisit pas les hauts lieux, et le peuple y sacrifiait et y brûlait de l'encens.
5 And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and he dwelt in a separate house. And Jotham the king's son was over the household, governing the people of the land.	5 Mais le Seigneur frappa ce roi, et il demeura lépreux jusqu'au jour de sa mort; il vivait à part, dans une maison écartée. Cependant Joathan, fils du roi, gouvernait le palais et jugeait le peuple.
6 Now the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?	6 Le reste des actions d'Azarias, et tout ce qu'il a fait, est écrit au livre des annales des rois de Juda.
7 And Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David, and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.	7 Et Azarias s'endormit avec ses pères, et il fut enseveli avec ses ancêtres dans la ville de David, et Joathan son fils régna à sa place.
8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria six months.	8 La trente-huitième année d'Azarias, roi de Juda. Zacharie, fils de Jéroboam, régna sur Israël à Samarie pendant six mois.
9 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done. He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin.	9 Il fit le mal devant le Seigneur, comme avaient fait ses pères, et il ne se retira point des péchés de Jéroboam fils de Nabat, qui avait fait pécher Israël.
10 Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and struck him down at Ibleam, and killed him, and reigned in his stead.	10 Sellum, fils de Jabès, conspira contre lui, l'attaqua et le tua publiquement, et régna à sa place.

14 Then Menahem the son of Gadi came up from Tirzah and came to Samaria, and he struck down Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria and slew him, and reigned in his stead.	14 Et Manahem, fils de Gadi, vint de Thersa à Samarie, attaqua Sellum, fils de Jabès, le tua dans la même ville, et régna à sa place.

16 At that time Menahem sacked Tappuah and all who were in it and its territory from Tirzah on; because they did not open it to him, therefore he sacked it, and he ripped up all the women in it who were with child.	16 Alors Manahem frappa Thapsa, et tous ceux qui y étaient, et les frontières du côté de Thersa, car on n'avait pas voulu lui ouvrir; il tua toutes les femmes enceintes, et il leur fendit le ventre.
17 In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah Menahem the son of Gadi began to reign over Israel, and he reigned ten years in Samaria.	17 La trente-neuvième année d'Azarias, roi de Juda, Manahem, fils de Gadi, commença à régner sur Israël à Samarie, et il régna dix ans.
18 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD; he did not depart all his days from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin.	18 Il fit le mal devant le Seigneur, et il ne se retira point des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, qui avait fait pécher Israël pendant tout son règne.
19 Pul the king of Assyria came against the land; and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that he might help him to confirm his hold of the royal power.	19 Phul, roi des Assyriens, vint dans la terre d'Israël, et Manahem lui donna mille talents d'argent, afin qu'il le secourût, et qu'il affermît son règne.
20 Menahem exacted the money from Israel, that is, from all the wealthy men, fifty shekels of silver from every man, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and did not stay there in the land.	20 Manahem leva cet argent dans Israël sur toutes les personnes puissantes et riches, pour le donner au roi d'Assyrie, et il les taxa à cinquante sicles d'argent par tête. 23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and he reigned two years.	23 La cinquantième année d'Azarias, roi de Juda, Phacéia, fils de Manahem, commença à régner sur Israël à Samarie, et il régna deux ans.
24 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD; he did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin.	24 Il fit le mal devant le Seigneur, et il ne se retira point des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, qui avait fait pécher Israël.
25 And Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him with fifty men of the Gileadites, and slew him in Samaria, in the citadel of the king's house; he slew him, and reigned in his stead.	25 Or Phacée, fils de Romélie, général de ses troupes, fit une conspiration contre lui; il le frappa à Samarie, dans la tour de la maison royale, aux côtés d'Argob et d'Arie, avec cinquante hommes des Galaadites qui étaient avec lui; et il le tua, et régna à sa place.

27 In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.	27 La cinquante-deuxième année d'Azarias, roi de Juda, Phacée, fils de Romélie, régna sur Israël à Samarie, pendant vingt ans.
28 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD; he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin.	28 Il fit le mal devant le Seigneur, et il ne se retira point des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, qui avait fait pécher Israël.
29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came and captured Ijon, Abel-beth-maacah, Jan-oah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried the people captive to Assyria.	29 Pendant le règne de Phacée, roi d'Israël, Théglath-Phalasar, roi des Assyriens, vint en Israël, et prit Aïon et Abel-Maison-de-Maacha, et Janoé, Cédès, Asor, Galaad, la Galilée, et tout le pays de Nephthali, et en transporta les habitants en Assyrie.
30 Then Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and struck him down, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.	30 Or Osée, fils d'Ela, fit une conspiration contre Phacée, fils de Romélie, et lui tendit des embûches; il le tua, et régna à sa place la vingtième année de Joatham, fils d'Ozias.

32 In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, Jotham the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, began to reign.	32 La seconde année de Phacée, fils de Romélie, roi d'Israël, Joatham, fils d'Ozias, roi de Juda, commença à régner.
33 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok.	33 Il avait vingt-cinq ans lorsque son règne commença, et il régna dans Jérusalem pendant seize ans; sa mère s'appelait Jérusa, et était fille de Sadoc.
34 And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that his father Uzziah had done.	34 Il fit ce qui était agréable au Seigneur, et se conduisit en tout comme avait fait Ozias, son père.
35 Nevertheless the high places were not removed; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. He built the upper gate of the house of the LORD.	35 Néanmoins il ne détruisit pas les hauts lieux, car le peuple y sacrifiait encore et y brûlait de l'encens. C'est lui qui bâtit la plus haute porte de la maison du Seigneur.
36 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?	36 Le reste des actions de Joatham, et tout ce qu'il a fait, est écrit au livre des annales des rois de Juda.
37 In those days the LORD began to send Rezin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah against Judah.	37 En ce même temps, le Seigneur commença à envoyer contre Juda Rasin, roi de Syrie, et Phacée, fils de Romélie.
38 Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.	38 Et Joatham s'endormit avec ses pères, et fut enseveli avec eux dans la ville de David son père; et Achaz, son fils, régna à sa place.
