1 But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided;	1 Ora Dio si ricordò di Noè, e di tutte le fiere e di tutti gli animali domestici ch'eran con lui nell'arca, e fece soffiare il vento sulla terra, e le acque diminuirono.
2 the fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, the rain from the heavens was restrained,	2 E chiuse le sorgenti dell'abisso, e le cateratte del cielo, e, rattenuta dal cielo la pioggia,
3 and the waters receded from the earth continually. At the end of a hundred and fifty days the waters had abated;	3 le acque, andando e venendo, si ritirarono dalla, terra; e cominciarono a scemare dopo cento cinquanta giorni.
4 and in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest upon the mountains of Ararat.	4 E nel settimo mese, al ventisette del mese, l'arca si posò sopra le montagne d'Armenia.
5 And the waters continued to abate until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.	5 E le acque continuarono a scemare fino al decimo mese; e nel decimo mese, il primo del mese, apparvero le vette dei monti.
6 At the end of forty days Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made,	6 Passati quaranta giorni, Noè, aperta la finestra che aveva fatta nell'arca, mandò fuori il corvo,
7 and sent forth a raven; and it went to and fro until the waters were dried up from the earth.	7 il quale andò via e non tornò finché le acque non furono asciugate sulla terra.
8 Then he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters had subsided from the face of the ground;	8 Dopo di lui mandò pure la colomba, per vedere se le acque fossero sparite sopra la superficie della terra.
9 but the dove found no place to set her foot, and she returned to him to the ark, for the waters were still on the face of the whole earth. So he put forth his hand and took her and brought her into the ark with him.	9 Or la colomba, non trovando ove posare il piede, tornò a lui nell'arca, perchè le acque occupavano tutta la superficie della terra; ed egli, stesa la mano, la prese e la mise dentro l'arca.
10 He waited another seven days, and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;	10 Avendo poi aspettato altri sette giorni, di nuovo mandò fuori dall'arca la colomba,
11 and the dove came back to him in the evening, and lo, in her mouth a freshly plucked olive leaf; so Noah knew that the waters had subsided from the earth.	11 la quale tornò a lui verso sera, portando nel becco un ramo di ulivo con verdi foglie. E Noè capi che le acque non coprivan più la terra;
12 Then he waited another seven days, and sent forth the dove; and she did not return to him any more.	12 nondimeno aspettò altri sette giorni e rimandò fuori la colomba, la quale non tornò più a lui.
13 In the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried from off the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and behold, the face of the ground was dry.	13 Così l'anno secentesimo primo, nel primo mese, al primo del mese, le acque lasciarono la terra, e Noè, scoperchiato il tetto dell'arca, guardò e vide che la superficie della terra era asciutta.
14 In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.	14 La terra fu asciutta il secondo mese, ai ventisette del mese.
15 Then God said to Noah,	15 E Dio parlò a Noè e gli disse:
16 "Go forth from the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons' wives with you.	16 « Esci dall'arca tu e la tua moglie, i tuoi figlioli e le mogli dei tuoi figlioli teco.
17 Bring forth with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh--birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth--that they may breed abundantly on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply upon the earth."	17 Fa uscire con te tutti gli animali d'ogni specie che son teco: volatili e bestie e rettili che striscian sulla terra; e scendete sulla terra, crescete e moltiplicatevi sopra di essa ».
18 So Noah went forth, and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him.	18 Uscì adunque Noè coi suoi figlioli, la sua moglie e le mogli dei suoi figlioli.
19 And every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves upon the earth, went forth by families out of the ark.	19 E anche tutte le fiere e gli animali domestici e i rettili che strisciano sopra la terra secondo le loro famiglie uscirono dall'arca.
20 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.	20 E Noè eresse un altare al Signore, e, prendendo di tutti gli animali e di tutti gli uccelli puri, li offrì in olocausto sopra l'altare.
21 And when the LORD smelled the pleasing odor, the LORD said in his heart, "I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done.	21 E il Signore, gradito l'odore soave, disse: « Io non maledirò più la terra a causa degli uomini, perchè i sensi e i pensieri del cuore umano sono inclinati al male fin dall'adolescenza; quindi non colpirò più ogni vivente come ho fatto.
22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease."	22 Finchè durerà la terra, semente e messe, freddo e caldo, estate e inverno, notte e giorno non cesseranno mai ».
