Genesis 46

1 So Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.	1 Israël partit avec tout ce qu'il possédait. Arrivé à Bersabée, il offrit des sacrifices au Dieu de sonpère Isaac
2 And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night, and said, "Jacob, Jacob." And he said, "Here am I."	2 et Dieu dit à Israël dans une vision nocturne: "Jacob! Jacob!" et il répondit: "Me voici."
3 Then he said, "I am God, the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt; for I will there make of you a great nation.	3 Dieu reprit: "Je suis El, le Dieu de ton père. N'aie pas peur de descendre en Egypte, car là-bas jeferai de toi une grande nation.
4 I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also bring you up again; and Joseph's hand shall close your eyes."	4 C'est moi qui descendrai avec toi en Egypte, c'est moi aussi qui t'en ferai remonter, et Joseph tefermera les yeux."
5 Then Jacob set out from Beer-sheba; and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.	5 Jacob partit de Bersabée, et les fils d'Israël firent monter leur père Jacob, leurs petits enfants etleurs femmes sur les chariots que Pharaon avait envoyés pour le prendre.
6 They also took their cattle and their goods, which they had gained in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob and all his offspring with him,	6 Ils emmenèrent leurs troupeaux et tout ce qu'ils avaient acquis au pays de Canaan et ils vinrent enEgypte, Jacob et tous ses descendants avec lui:
7 his sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters; all his offspring he brought with him into Egypt.	7 ses fils et les fils de ses fils, ses filles et les filles de ses fils, bref tous ses descendants, il lesemmena avec lui en Egypte.
8 Now these are the names of the descendants of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons. Reuben, Jacob's first-born,	8 Voici les noms des fils d'Israël qui vinrent en Egypte, Jacob et ses fils. Ruben, l'aîné de Jacob,
9 and the sons of Reuben: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.	9 et les fils de Ruben: Hénok, Pallu, Heçrôn, Karmi.
10 The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul, the son of a Canaanitish woman.	10 Les fils de Siméon: Yemuel, Yamîn, Ohad, Yakîn, Cohar et Shaûl, le fils de la Cananéenne.
11 The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.	11 Les fils de Lévi: Gershôn, Qehat, Merari.
12 The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah (but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan); and the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.	12 Les fils de Juda: Er, Onân, Shéla, Pérèç et Zérah (mais Er et Onân étaient morts au pays deCanaan), et les fils de Pérèç, Heçrôn et Hamul.
13 The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puvah, Iob, and Shimron.	13 Les fils d'Issachar: Tola, Puvva, Yashub et Shimrôn.
14 The sons of Zebulun: Sered, Elon, and Jahleel	14 Les fils de Zabulon: Séred, Elôn, Yahléel.
15 (these are the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Paddan-aram, together with his daughter Dinah; altogether his sons and his daughters numbered thirty-three).	15 Tels sont les fils que Léa avait enfantés à Jacob en Paddân-Aram, en plus sa fille Dina, en tout,fils et filles, 33 personnes.
16 The sons of Gad: Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi, and Areli.	16 Les fils de Gad: Cephôn, Haggi, Shuni, Eçbôn, Eri, Arodi etAréli.
17 The sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, with Serah their sister. And the sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchi-el	17 Les fils d'Asher: Yimna, Yishva, Yishvi, Beria et leur sœur Sérah; les fils de Beria: Héber etMalkiel.
18 (these are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter; and these she bore to Jacob--sixteen persons).	18 Tels sont les fils de Zilpa, donnée par Laban à sa fille Léa;elle enfanta ceux-là à Jacob, seizepersonnes.
19 The sons of Rachel, Jacob's wife: Joseph and Benjamin.	19 Les fils de Rachel, femme de Jacob: Joseph et Benjamin.
20 And to Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera the priest of On, bore to him.	20 Joseph eut pour enfants en Egypte Manassé et Ephraïm, nésd'Asnat, fille de Poti-Phéra, prêtred'On.
21 And the sons of Benjamin: Bela, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard	21 Les fils de Benjamin: Béla, Béker, Ashbel, Géra, Naamân, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim et Ard.
22 (these are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob--fourteen persons in all).	22 Tels sont les fils que Rachel enfanta à Jacob, en tout quatorze personnes.
23 The sons of Dan: Hushim.	23 Les fils de Dan: Hushim.
24 The sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem	24 Les fils de Nephtali: Yahçéel, Guni, Yéçer et Shillem.
25 (these are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter, and these she bore to Jacob--seven persons in all).	25 Tels sont les fils de Bilha, donnée par Laban à sa fille Rachel; elle enfanta ceux-là à Jacob, en toutsept personnes.
26 All the persons belonging to Jacob who came into Egypt, who were his own offspring, not including Jacob's sons' wives, were sixty-six persons in all;	26 Toutes les personnes de la famille de Jacob, issues de lui, qui vinrent en Egypte, sans compter lesfemmes des fils de Jacob, étaient en tout 66.
27 and the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two; all the persons of the house of Jacob, that came into Egypt, were seventy.	27 Les fils de Joseph qui lui naquirent en Egypte étaient aunombre de deux. Total des personnes dela famille de Jacob qui vinrent en Egypte: 70.
28 He sent Judah before him to Joseph, to appear before him in Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.	28 Israël envoya Juda en avant vers Joseph pour que celui-ci parût devant lui en Goshèn, et ilsarrivèrent à la terre de Goshèn.
29 Then Joseph made ready his chariot and went up to meet Israel his father in Goshen; and he presented himself to him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.	29 Joseph fit atteler son char et monta à la rencontre de son père Israël en Goshèn. Dès qu'il parutdevant lui, il se jeta à son cou et pleura longtemps en le tenant embrassé.
30 Israel said to Joseph, "Now let me die, since I have seen your face and know that you are still alive."	30 Israël dit à Joseph: "Pour lors, je puis mourir, après que j'ai vu ton visage et que tu es encorevivant!"
31 Joseph said to his brothers and to his father's household, "I will go up and tell Pharaoh, and will say to him, 'My brothers and my father's household, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me;	31 Alors Joseph dit à ses frères et à la famille de son père: "Je vais monter avertir Pharaon et lui dire:Mes frères et la famille de mon père, qui étaient au pays de Canaan, sont arrivés auprès de moi.
32 and the men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.'	32 Ces gens sont des bergers -- ils se sont occupés de troupeaux-- et ils ont amené leur petit et leurgros bétail et tout ce qui leur appartient.
33 When Pharaoh calls you, and says, 'What is your occupation?'	33 Aussi, lorsque Pharaon vous appellera et vous demandera: Que lest votre métier?
34 you shall say, 'Your servants have been keepers of cattle from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers,' in order that you may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians."	34 Vous répondrez: Tes serviteurs se sont occupés de troupeaux depuis leur plus jeune âge jusqu'àmaintenant, nous-mêmes comme déjà nos pères. Ainsi vous pourrez demeurer dans la terre de Goshèn." En effet,les Egyptiens ont tous les bergers en horreur.
