1 And I saw that the Lamb had opened one of the seven seals. And I heard one of the four living creatures saying, in a voice like thunder: “Draw near and see.”	1 Et je vis que l'Agneau avait ouvert un des sept sceaux; et j'entendis un des quatre animaux qui disait comme d'une voix de tonnerre: Viens et vois.
2 And I saw, and behold, a white horse. And he who was sitting upon it was holding a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he went forth conquering, so that he might prevail.	2 Et je regardai, et voici que parut un cheval blanc, et celui qui le montait avait un arc, et on lui donna une couronne; et il partit en vainqueur, pour vaincre.
3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying: “Draw near and see.”	3 Et lorsqu'Il eut ouvert le second sceau, j'entendis le second animal qui disait: Viens et vois.
4 And another horse went forth, which was red. And it was granted to him who was sitting upon it that he would take peace from the earth, and that they would kill one another. And a great sword was given to him.	4 Et il sortit un autre cheval, qui était roux; et à celui qui le montait le pouvoir fut donné d'enlever la paix de dessus la terre, afin que les hommes s'entre-tuassent; et une grande épée lui fut donnée.
5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying: “Draw near and see.” And behold, a black horse. And he who was sitting upon it was holding a balance in his hand.	5 Et lorsqu'Il eut ouvert le troisième sceau, j'entendis le troisième animal qui disait: Viens, et vois. Et voici que parut un cheval noir; et celui qui le montait avait une balance dans sa main.
6 And I heard something like a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A double measure of wheat for a denarius, and three double measures of barley for a denarius, but do no harm to wine and oil.”	6 Et j'entendis comme une voix au milieu des quatre animaux, qui disait: Le litre de blé pour un denier; et trois livres d'orge pour un denier; mais ne fais pas de mal au vin ni à l'huile.
7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying: “Draw near and see.”	7 Et lorsqu'il eut ouvert le quatrième sceau, j'entendis la voix du quatrième animal qui disait: Viens, et vois.
8 And behold, a pale horse. And he who was sitting upon it, his name was Death, and Hell was following him. And authority was given to him over the four parts of the earth, to destroy by the sword, by famine, and by death, and by the creatures of the earth.	8 Et voici que parut un cheval pâle, et celui qui le montait s'appelait la Mort, et l'enfer le suivait; et le pouvoir lui fut donné sur le quart de la terre, pour tuer par l'épée, par la famine, par la mortalité, et par les bêtes sauvages.
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw, under the altar, the souls of those who had been slain because of the Word of God and because of the testimony that they held.	9 Et lorsqu'il eut ouvert le cinquième sceau, je vis sous l'autel les âmes de ceux qui avaient été tués pour la parole de Dieu, et pour le témoignage qu'ils avaient rendu.
10 And they were crying out with a loud voice, saying: “How long, O Holy and True Lord, will you not judge and not vindicate our blood against those who dwell upon the earth?”	10 Et ils criaient d'une voix forte, en disant: Jusques à quand, Seigneur saint et véritable, différerez-Vous de juger et de venger notre sang sur les habitants de la terre?
11 And white robes were given to each of them. And they were told that they should rest for a brief time, until their fellow servants and their brothers, who were to be slain even as they were slain, would be completed.	11 Et il leur fut donné à chacun une robe blanche, et il leur fut dit de demeurer encore un peu de temps en repos, jusqu'à ce que fût complété le nombre de leurs compagnons de service et de leurs frères qui devaient être mis à mort comme eux.
12 And when he had opened the sixth seal, I saw, and behold, a great earthquake occurred. And the sun became black, like a haircloth sack, and the entire moon became like blood.	12 Je regardai, lorsqu'Il ouvrit le sixième sceau, et voici qu'il y eut un grand tremblement de terre, et le soleil devint noir comme un sac de crin, et la lune entière devint comme du sang;
13 And the stars from heaven fell upon the earth, just as when a fig tree, shaken by a great wind, drops its immature figs.	13 et les étoiles du ciel tombèrent sur la terre, comme un figuier laisse tomber ses figues vertes lorsqu'il est agité par un grand vent.
14 And heaven receded, like a scroll being rolled up. And every mountain, and the islands, were moved from their places.	14 Et le ciel se retira comme un livre que l'on roule, et toutes les montagnes et les îles furent ôtées de leur place;
15 And the kings of the earth, and the rulers, and the military leaders, and the wealthy, and the strong, and everyone, servant and free, hid themselves in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.	15 et les rois de la terre, et les grands, et les capitaines, et les riches, et les puissants, et tous les esclaves et les hommes libres se cachèrent dans les cavernes et dans les rochers des montagnes;
16 And they said to the mountains and the rocks: “Fall over us and hide us from the face of the One sitting upon the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.	16 et ils dirent aux montagnes et aux rochers: Tombez sur nous, et cachez-nous de devant la face de Celui qui est assis sur le trône, et devant la colère de l'Agneau;
17 For the great day of their wrath has arrived. And who will be able to stand?”	17 car le grand jour de leur colère est arrivé, et qui pourra rester debout?
