CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINBiblia Sagrada
And I heard a great voice from the temple, saying to the seven Angels: “Go forth and pour out the seven bowls of the wrath of God upon the earth.”1 Y oí una voz potente que salía del santuario y decía a los siete ángeles: «Id a derramar en la tierra las siete copas de la ira de Dios».
And the first Angel went forth and poured out his bowl upon the earth. And a severe and most grievous wound occurred upon the men who had the character of the beast, and upon those who adored the beast or its image.2 Salió el primero y derramó su copa en la tierra, y una úlcera maligna y dolorosa apareció en las personas que llevaban la marca de la fiera y adoraban su imagen.
And the second Angel poured out his bowl upon the sea. And it became like the blood of the dead, and every living creature in the sea died.3 El segundo derramó su copa en el mar, y el mar se convirtió en sangre como de muerto; y todo ser vivo que había en el mar murió.
And the third Angel poured out his bowl upon the rivers and the sources of water, and these became blood.4 El tercero derramó su copa en los ríos y manantiales, y se convirtieron en sangre.
And I heard the Angel of the waters saying: “You are just, O Lord, who is and who was: the Holy One who has judged these things.5 Oí al ángel de las aguas que decía: «Justo eres, el que es y el que eras, el Santo, porque has realizado estos juicios:
For they have shed the blood of the Saints and the Prophets, and so you have given them blood to drink. For they deserve this.”6 a los que derramaron sangre de los santos y profetas, tú les has dado a beber sangre. Se lo merecen».
And from the altar, I heard another one, saying, “Even now, O Lord God Almighty, your judgments are true and just.”7 Y oí que el altar decía: «Sí, Señor, Dios, el todopoderoso, tus juicios son verdaderos y rectos».
And the fourth Angel poured out his bowl upon the sun. And it was given to him to afflict men with heat and fire.8 El cuarto derramó su copa en el sol y se le permitió abrasar a las personas con su fuego;
And men were scorched by the great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God, who holds power over these afflictions, but they did not repent, so as to give him glory.9 y las personas fueron abrasadas por el enorme calor; y blasfemaron contra el nombre de Dios que tenía el poder sobre estas plagas, pero no se convirtieron dando gloria a Dios.
And the fifth Angel poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast. And his kingdom became darkened, and they gnawed at their tongues out of anguish.10 El quinto derramó su copa sobre el trono de la fiera, y su reino quedó en tinieblas; y se mordían la lengua de dolor
And they blasphemed the God of heaven, because of their anguish and wounds, but they did not repent from their works.11 y maldecían al Dios del cielo por sus dolores y sus úlceras, pero no se arrepintieron de sus obras.
And the sixth Angel poured out his bowl upon that great river Euphrates. And its water dried up, so that a way might be prepared for the kings from the rising of the sun.12 El sexto derramó su copa sobre el gran río, el Éufrates, y se secó su agua, de forma que quedó preparado el camino de los reyes que vienen del Oriente.
And I saw, from the mouth of the dragon, and from the mouth of the beast, and from the mouth of the false prophetess, three unclean spirits go out in the manner of frogs.13 Y vi salir de la boca del dragón, de la boca de la bestia y de la boca del falso profeta tres espíritus inmundos en forma de ranas.
For these are the spirits of the demons that were causing the signs. And they advance to the kings of the entire earth, to gather them for battle on the great day of Almighty God.14 Son los espíritus demoníacos que hacen signos y se dirigen a los reyes de la tierra entera con el fin de congregarlos para la batalla del gran Día de Dios todopoderoso.
“Behold, I arrive like a thief. Blessed is he who is vigilant and who preserves his vestment, lest he walk naked and they see his disgrace.”15 «Mira, vengo como un ladrón. Bienaventurado el que vela y guarda sus vestidos, para que no tenga que pasear desnudo y vean sus vergüenzas».
And he shall gather them together at a place which is called, in Hebrew, Armageddon.16 Y los congregó en un lugar llamado en hebreo Harmaguedón.
And the seventh Angel poured out his bowl upon the air. And a great voice went out of the temple from the throne, saying: “It is done.”17 El séptimo derramó su copa en el aire, y del santuario y del trono salió una voz potente que decía: «Ya está hecho».
And there were lightnings and voices and thunders. And a great earthquake occurred, of a kind such as has never happened since men have been upon the earth, so great was this kind of earthquake.18 Hubo relámpagos, voces y truenos, y hubo un terremoto tan violento como no lo ha habido desde que hay hombres en la tierra.
And the Great City became divided into three parts. And the cities of the Gentiles fell. And Babylon the great came to mind before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the indignation of his wrath.19 La gran ciudad se partió en tres y las capitales de las naciones se derrumbaron. Dios se acordó de la gran Babilonia y le hizo beber la copa de vino del furor de su ira.
And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.20 Todas las islas huyeron, los montes desaparecieron.
And hail as heavy as a talent descended from the sky upon men. And men blasphemed God, because of the affliction of the hail, for it was exceedingly great.21 Un gran pedrisco con piedras como de un talento de peso cayó del cielo sobre las personas, y las personas maldijeron a Dios por la plaga del pedrisco, porque era una plaga terrible.
