2 Corinthians 4

1 Therefore, since we have this ministry, and in as much as we have obtained mercy for ourselves, we are not inadequate.	1 Pelo que, tendo nós tal ministério, em virtude da misericórdia (de Deus) que alcançamos, não perdemos a coragem,
2 For we renounce dishonorable and hidden acts, not walking by craftiness, nor by adulterating the Word of God. Instead, by the manifestation of truth, we commend ourselves to the conscience of each man before God.	2 antes repudiamos todo o proceder vergonhoso e dissimulado. Não procedemos com artifício, nem adulteramos a palavra de Deus, mas recomendamo-nos a nós mesmos à consciência de todos os homens, diante de Deus, por meio da manifestação da verdade.
3 But if our Gospel is in some way hidden, it is hidden to those who are perishing.	3 E, se o nosso Evangelho ainda está encoberto, é para aqueles que se perdem que está encoberto,
4 As for them, the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, would not shine in them.	4 para aqueles infiéis de quem o deus deste século cegou os entendimentos, para que não resplandeça para eles a luz do Evangelho da glória de Cristo, o qual é a imagem de Deus.
5 For we are not preaching about ourselves, but about Jesus Christ our Lord. We are merely your servants through Jesus.	5 Em verdade, não nos pregamos a nós mesmos, mas a Jesus Cristo, que é Senhor. Nós, pois, consideramo-nos vossos servos, por Jesus,
6 For God, who told the light to shine out of darkness, has shined a light into our hearts, to illuminate the knowledge of the splendor of God, in the person of Christ Jesus.	6 porque Deus, que disse que das trevas resplandecesse a luz, ele mesmo iluminou nossos corações, para que neles brilhe o conhecimento da glória de Deus, que resplandece na face do Cristo.
7 But we hold this treasure in earthen vessels, so that what is sublime may be of the power of God, and not of us.	7 Temos, porém, este tesouro em vasos de barro, para que se veja bem que esse extraordinário poder vem de Deus e não de nós.
8 In all things, we endure tribulation, yet we are not in anguish. We are constrained, yet we are not destitute.	8 Em tudo sofremos tribulação, mas não somos oprimidos; somos cercados de dificuldades, mas não desesperamos;
9 We suffer persecution, yet we have not been abandoned. We are thrown down, yet we do not perish.	9 somos perseguidos, mas não desamparados; somos abatidos, mas não perecemos,
10 We ever carry around the mortification of Jesus in our bodies, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.	10 trazendo sempre em nosso corpo os traços da morte de Jesus, para que também a vida de Jesus se manifeste nos nossos corpos.
11 For we who live are ever handed over unto death for the sake of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our mortal flesh.	11 Efetivamente, nós, que vivemos, somos continuamente entregues à morte por amor de Jesus, para que também a vida de Jesus se manifeste na nossa carne mortal.
12 Therefore, death is at work in us, and life is at work in you.	12 A morte, pois, opera em nós, e a vida em vós.
13 But we have the same Spirit of faith. And just as it is written, “I believed, and for that reason I spoke,” so we also believe, and for that reason, we also speak.	13 Mas, tendo o mesmo espírito de fé, segundo está escrito: Eu cri, por isso falei (Ps. 114, 1), também nós cremos, e por isso também é que falamos,
14 For we know that the One who raised up Jesus will raise us up also with Jesus and will place us with you.	14 sabendo que aquele, que ressuscitou o Senhor Jesus, nos ressuscitará também com Jesus e nos colocará convosco diante dele (para sermos glorificados).
15 Thus, all is for you, so that grace, abounding through many in thanksgiving, may abound to the glory of God.	15 Tudo, com efeito, é por amor de vós, para que a graça, multiplicando-se, faça abundar o reconhecimento no coração de um número cada vez maior, para glória de Deus.
16 For this reason, we are not insufficient. But it is as though our outer man is corrupted, while our inner man is renewed from day to day.	16 E’ por isto que não desfalecemos; antes, pelo contrário, embora se destrua em nós o homem exterior, todavia o (homem) interior vai-se renovando de dia para dia.
17 For though our tribulation is, at the present time, brief and light, it accomplishes in us the weight of a sublime eternal glory, beyond measure.	17 Sim, o que presentemente é para nós uma tribulação momentânea e ligeira, prepara-nos, além de toda a medida, um peso eterno de gloria,
18 And we are contemplating, not the things that are seen, but the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are temporal, whereas the things that are not seen are eternal.	18 não atendendo nós às coisas que se vêem, mas sim às que se não vêem. Com efeito, as coisas que se vêem são passageiras; as que não se vêem, são eternas.
