1 Now Peter and John went up to the temple at the ninth hour of prayer.	1 Petrus und Johannes gingen um die neunte Stunde zum Gebet in den Tempel hinauf.
2 And a certain man, who was lame from his mother’s womb, was being carried in. They would lay him every day at the gate of the temple, which is called the Beautiful, so that he might request alms from those entering into the temple.	2 Da wurde ein Mann herbeigetragen, der von Geburt an gelähmt war. Man setzte ihn täglich an das Tor des Tempels, das man die Schöne Pforte nennt; dort sollte er bei denen, die in den Tempel gingen, um Almosen betteln.
3 And this man, when he had seen Peter and John beginning to enter the temple, was begging, so that he might receive alms.	3 Als er nun Petrus und Johannes in den Tempel gehen sah, bat er sie um ein Almosen.
4 Then Peter and John, gazing at him, said, “Look at us.”	4 Petrus und Johannes blickten ihn an und Petrus sagte: Sieh uns an!
5 And he looked intently at them, hoping that he might receive something from them.	5 Da wandte er sich ihnen zu und erwartete, etwas von ihnen zu bekommen.
6 But Peter said: “Silver and gold is not mine. But what I have, I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, rise up and walk.”	6 Petrus aber sagte: Silber und Gold besitze ich nicht. Doch was ich habe, das gebe ich dir: Im Namen Jesu Christi, des Nazoräers, geh umher!
7 And taking him by the right hand, he lifted him up. And immediately his legs and feet were strengthened.	7 Und er fasste ihn an der rechten Hand und richtete ihn auf. Sogleich kam Kraft in seine Füße und Gelenke;
8 And leaping up, he stood and walked around. And he entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.	8 er sprang auf, konnte stehen und ging umher. Dann ging er mit ihnen in den Tempel, lief und sprang umher und lobte Gott.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.	9 Alle Leute sahen ihn umhergehen und Gott loben.
10 And they recognized him, that he was the same one who was sitting for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. And they were filled with awe and amazement at what had happened to him.	10 Sie erkannten ihn als den, der gewöhnlich an der Schönen Pforte des Tempels saß und bettelte. Und sie waren voll Verwunderung und Staunen über das, was mit ihm geschehen war.
11 Then, as he held on to Peter and John, all the people ran to them at the portico, which is called Solomon’s, in astonishment.	11 Da er sich Petrus und Johannes anschloss, lief das ganze Volk bei ihnen in der sogenannten Halle Salomos zusammen, außer sich vor Staunen.
12 But Peter, seeing this, responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this? Or why do you stare at us, as if it were by our own strength or power that we caused this man to walk?	12 Als Petrus das sah, wandte er sich an das Volk: Israeliten, was wundert ihr euch darüber? Was starrt ihr uns an, als hätten wir aus eigener Kraft oder Frömmigkeit bewirkt, dass dieser gehen kann?
13 The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus, whom you, indeed, handed over and denied before the face of Pilate, when he was giving judgment to release him.	13 Der Gott Abrahams, Isaaks und Jakobs, der Gott unserer Väter, hat seinen Knecht Jesus verherrlicht, den ihr verraten und vor Pilatus verleugnet habt, obwohl dieser entschieden hatte, ihn freizulassen.
14 Then you denied the Holy and Just One, and petitioned for a murderous man to be given to you.	14 Ihr aber habt den Heiligen und Gerechten verleugnet und die Freilassung eines Mörders gefordert.
15 Truly, it was the Author of Life whom you put to death, whom God raised from the dead, to whom we are witnesses.	15 Den Urheber des Lebens habt ihr getötet, aber Gott hat ihn von den Toten auferweckt. Dafür sind wir Zeugen.
16 And by faith in his name, this man, whom you have seen and known, has confirmed his name. And faith through him has given this man complete health in the sight of you all.	16 Und weil er an seinen Namen geglaubt hat, hat dieser Name den Mann hier, den ihr seht und kennt, zu Kräften gebracht; der Glaube, der durch ihn kommt, hat ihm vor euer aller Augen die volle Gesundheit geschenkt.
17 And now, brothers, I know that you did this through ignorance, just as your leaders also did.	17 Nun, Brüder, ich weiß, ihr habt aus Unwissenheit gehandelt, ebenso wie eure Führer.
18 But in this way God has fulfilled the things that he announced beforehand through the mouth of all the Prophets: that his Christ would suffer.	18 Gott aber hat auf diese Weise erfüllt, was er durch den Mund aller Propheten im voraus verkündigt hat: dass sein Messias leiden werde.
19 Therefore, repent and be converted, so that your sins may be wiped away.	19 Also kehrt um und tut Buße, damit eure Sünden getilgt werden
20 And then, when the time of consolation will have arrived from the presence of the Lord, he will send the One who was foretold to you, Jesus Christ,	20 und der Herr Zeiten des Aufatmens kommen lässt und Jesus sendet als den für euch bestimmten Messias.
21 whom heaven certainly must take up, until the time of the restoration of all things, which God has spoken of by the mouth of his holy prophets, from ages past.	21 Ihn muss freilich der Himmel aufnehmen bis zu den Zeiten der Wiederherstellung von allem, die Gott von jeher durch den Mund seiner heiligen Propheten verkündet hat.
22 Indeed, Moses said: ‘For the Lord your God shall raise up a Prophet for you from your brothers, one like me; the same shall you listen to according to everything whatsoever that he shall speak to you.	22 Mose hat gesagt: Einen Propheten wie mich wird euch der Herr, euer Gott, aus euren Brüdern erwecken. Auf ihn sollt ihr hören in allem, was er zu euch sagt.
23 And this shall be: every soul who will not listen to that Prophet shall be exterminated from the people.’	23 Jeder, der auf jenen Propheten nicht hört, wird aus dem Volk ausgemerzt werden.
24 And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and thereafter, have announced these days.	24 Und auch alle Propheten von Samuel an und alle, die später auftraten, haben diese Tage angekündigt.
25 You are sons of the prophets and of the testament which God has appointed for our fathers, saying to Abraham: ‘And by your offspring all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’	25 Ihr seid die Söhne der Propheten und des Bundes, den Gott mit euren Vätern geschlossen hat, als er zu Abraham sagte: Durch deinen Nachkommen sollen alle Geschlechter der Erde Segen erlangen.
26 God raised up his Son and sent him first to you, to bless you, so that each one may turn himself away from his wickedness.”	26 Für euch zuerst hat Gott seinen Knecht erweckt und gesandt, damit er euch segnet und jeden von seiner Bosheit abbringt.
