Haggai 2

1 on the twenty-fourth day of the month, in the sixth month, in the second year of king Darius.	1 El día veintiuno del séptimo mes, la palabra del Señor llegó, por medio del profeta Ageo, en estos términos:
2 And in the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, the word of the Lord came, by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:	2 Di a Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, gobernador de Judá, a Josué, hijo de Iehosadac, el Sumo Sacerdote, y al resto del pueblo:
3 Speak to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, the governor of Judah, and to Jesus the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remainder of the people, saying:	3 ¿Queda alguien entre ustedes que haya visto esta Casa en su antiguo esplendor? ¿Y qué es lo que ven ahora? ¿No es como nada ante sus ojos?
4 Who is left among you, who saw this house in its first glory? And how do you see it now? Is it not, in comparison to that, as nothing in your eyes?	4 ¡Animo, Zorobabel! –oráculo del Señor–. ¡Animo, Josué, hijo de Iehosadac, Sumo Sacerdote! ¡Animo, todo el pueblo del país! –oráculo del Señor–. ¡Manos a la obra! Porque yo estoy con ustedes –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos
5 And now be strengthened, Zerubbabel, says the Lord. And be strengthened, Jesus the son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And be strengthened, all people of the land, says the Lord of hosts. For I am with you, says the Lord of hosts.	5 según el compromiso que contraje con ustedes cuando salieron de Egipto, y mi espíritu permanece en medio de ustedes. ¡No teman!
6 And act according to the word that I planted with you when you departed from the land of Egypt. And my Spirit will be in your midst. Do not be afraid.	6 Porque así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: Dentro de poco tiempo, yo haré estremecer el cielo y la tierra, el mar y el suelo firme.
7 For thus says the Lord of hosts: There is yet one brief time, and I will move heaven and earth, and the sea and the dry land.	7 haré estremecer a todas las naciones: entonces afluirán los tesoros de todas las naciones y llenaré de gloria esta Casa dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
8 And I will move all nations. And the Desired of all nations will arrive. And I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts.	8 ¡Son míos el oro y la plata! –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos
9 Mine is the silver, and mine is the gold, says the Lord of hosts.	9 la gloria última de esta Casa será más grande que la primera, dice el Señor de los ejército, y en este lugar yo daré la paz –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos–.
10 Great shall be the glory of this house, the last more than the first, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place, I will bestow peace, says the Lord of hosts.	10 El día veinticuatro del noveno mes el segundo año de Darío, la palabra del Señor llegó al profeta Ageo, en estos términos:
11 On the twenty-fourth of the ninth month, in the second year of king Darius, the word of the Lord came to Haggai the prophet, saying:	11 Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: Consulta a los sacerdotes sobre el caso siguiente:
12 Thus says the Lord of hosts: the priests question the law, saying:	12 Si alguien lleva en los pliegues de su ropa carne ofrecida en sacrificio y toca con ellos pan, caldo, vino, aceite o cualquier clase de alimentos, ¿todo esto quedará consagrado? Los sacerdotes respondieron: «¡No!».
13 If a man will have carried sanctified flesh in the pocket of his garment, and the top of it touches his bread, or appetizer, or wine, or oil, or any food, shall it be sanctified? But the priests responded by saying, “No.”	13 Ageo prosiguió: Si alguien contaminado por un cadáver toca alguna de estas cosas, quedarán impuras? Los sacerdotes respondieron: ¡Sí, quedarán impuras!
14 And Haggai said, “If the polluted in soul will have touched any of all these things, shall it be contaminated?” And the priests responded and said, “It shall be contaminated.”	14 Entonces Ageo tomó la palabra y dijo: ¡Así es este pueblo! ¡Así es esta nación delante de mí! –oráculo del Señor– ¡Así es toda la obra de sus manos! ¡Y lo que ellos ofrecen aquí es impuro!».
15 And Haggai answered and he said: Such is this people, and such is this nation before my face, says the Lord, and such is all the work of their hands. And so all that they have offered there has been contaminated.	15 Y ahora reflexionen desde hoy en adelante. Antes de poner piedra sobre piedra en el Templo del Señor,
16 And now, consider in your hearts, from this day and beyond, before stone may be placed upon stone in the temple of the Lord:	16 ¿qué les pasaba a ustedes? Alguien iba a pesar un montón de grano estimado en veinte medidas, y no había mas que diez; iba al lagar para sacar cincuenta medidas, y no había más que veinte.
17 when you approached a pile of twenty measures, and they became ten, and you entered to the press, to press out fifty bottles, and they became twenty,	17 Yo los castigué con la sequía, el pulgón y el granizo en toda la obra de sus manos, ¡pero ustedes no han vuelto a mi! –oráculo del Señor–.
18 how I struck you with a burning wind, and a mildew, and a hailstorm, all the works of your hand, yet there was no one among you who returned to me, says the Lord.	18 Reflexionen desde hoy en adelante, desde el día veinticuatro del noveno mes en que se pusieron los cimientos del Templo del Señor. Reflexionen:
19 Set your hearts from this day and into the future, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundations of the temple of the Lord have been uttered, and place it upon your heart.	19 ¿Queda aún semilla en el granero? ¿todavía no han dado nada la vid, la higuera, el granado y el olivo? A partir de este día, yo daré mi bendición.
20 Has the seed been germinated yet? And has the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree still not flourished? From this day on, I will bless you.	20 La palabra del Señor llegó por segunda vez a Ageo, el día veinticuatro del mismo mes, en estos términos:
21 And the word of the Lord came a second time to Haggai, on the twenty-fourth of the month, saying:	21 Habla a Zorobabel, gobernador de Judá, y dile: Yo haré estremecer el cielo y la tierra,
22 Speak to Zerubbabel the governor of Judah, saying: I will move both heaven and earth.	22 derribaré el trono de los reinos y destruiré el poder de los reinos de las naciones; derribaré los carros y sus conductores, los caballos y sus jinetes caerán abatidos, cada uno bajo la espada de su hermano.
23 And I will overturn the throne of kingdoms, and I will crush the strength of the kingdom of the Gentiles. And I will overturn the four-horse chariot, and its rider; and the horses and their riders shall be brought down, a man by the sword of his brother.	23 Aquel día –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos– yo te tomaré a ti, Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, mi servidor –oráculo del Señor– y haré de ti un anillo para sellar, porque yo te he elegido –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos
24 In that day, says the Lord of hosts, I will take you, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, my servant, says the Lord, and will set you like a seal, for I have chosen you, says the Lord of hosts.
