Hosea 8

1 Let there be a trumpet in your throat, like an eagle over the house of the Lord, on behalf of those who have transgressed my covenant and violated my law.	1 ¡Lleva a tu boca la trompeta! Como un águila, se abate la desgracia sobre la casa del Señor, porque ellos han transgredido mi alianza y se han rebelado contra mi Ley.
2 They will call on me: “O my God, we, Israel, know you.”	2 Ellos gritan hacia mí: «¡Dios mío, nosotros, los de Israel, te conocemos!».
3 Israel has thrown away goodness; the enemy will overtake him.	3 Pero Israel ha rechazado el bien: el enemigo lo perseguirá.
4 They have reigned, but not by me. Leaders have emerged, and I did not recognize them. Their silver and their gold, they have made into idols for themselves, so that they might cross over.	4 Entronizaron reyes pero sin contar conmigo; designaron príncipes, pero sin mi aprobación. Se hicieron ídolos con su plata y su oro, para su propio exterminio.
5 Your calf, Samaria, has been rejected. My fury has been enraged against them. How long will they be incapable of being cleansed?	5 Yo rechazo tu ternero, Samaría; mi ira se ha encendido contra ellos. ¿Hasta cuándo no podrán recobrar la inocencia?
6 For it is itself also from Israel: a workman made it, and it is not God. For the calf of Samaria will be used for the webs of spiders.	6 Porque ese ternero proviene de Israel: lo hizo un artesano, y no es Dios. Sí, el ternero de Samaría quedará hecho pedazos.
7 For they will sow wind and reap a whirlwind. It does not have a firm stalk; the bud will yield no grain. But if it does yield, strangers will eat it.	7 Porque siembran vientos, recogerán tempestades. Tallos sin espiga no produce harina, y si la produce, se la tragarán los extranjeros.
8 Israel has been devoured. Now, among the nations, it has become like an unclean vessel.	8 ¡Israel ha sido tragado! Ahora están entre las naciones como un objeto sin valor,
9 For they have gone up to Assur, a wild ass alone by himself. Ephraim has given presents to his lovers.	9 porque ellos subieron a Asiria. El asno salvaje se queda solo, pero Efraím paga los amores con regalos.
10 But even when they will have brought the nations together for the sake of money, now I will assemble them. And they will rest for a little while from the burden of the king and the leaders.	10 Aunque hagan regalos entre las naciones, ahora los voy a reunir, y dentro de poco se retorcerán bajo el peso del rey de los príncipes.
11 For Ephraim multiplied altars to sin, and sanctuaries have become an offense for him.	11 Efraím multiplicó los altares para expiar el pecado, pero esos altares le han servido sólo para pecar.
12 I will write to him my intricate laws, which have been treated like strangers.	12 Por más que escriba para él mis prescripciones de mi Ley, se las tendría por una cosa extraña.
13 They will offer victims, they will immolate flesh and will eat, and the Lord will not accept them. For now he will remember their iniquity, and he will repay their sins: they will be turned back to Egypt.	13 En cuanto a los sacrificios que me ofrecen, ¡que los inmolen, que se coman la carne! ¡El Señor no los aceptará! 14 And Israel has forgotten his Maker and has built shrines. And Judah has increased its fortified cities.
