Leviticus 19

1 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	1 Le Seigneur parla à Moïse et lui dit:
2 Speak to the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: Be holy, for I, the Lord your God, am holy.	2 Parlez à toute l'assemblée des enfants d'Israël et dites-leur: Soyez saints, parce que Je suis saint, Moi qui suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
3 Let each one fear his father and his mother. Observe my Sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.	3 Que chacun respecte avec crainte son père et sa mère. Gardez Mes jours de sabbat. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
4 Do not be willing to convert to idols, neither should you make molten gods for yourselves. I am the Lord your God.	4 Ne vous tournez point vers les idoles, et ne vous faites point de dieux jetés en fonte. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
5 If you immolate a victim of peace offerings to the Lord, so that he may be appeased,	5 Si vous immolez au Seigneur une hostie pacifique, afin qu'il vous soit favorable,
6 you shall eat it on the same day as when it was immolated, and the next day. Then whatever will remain on the third day you shall burn with fire.	6 Vous la mangerez le même jour, et le jour d'après qu'elle aura été immolée; et vous consumerez par le feu tout ce qui en restera le troisième jour.
7 If anyone, after two days, will have eaten from it, he shall be profane and guilty of impiety.	7 Si quelqu'un en mange après les deux jours, il sera profane et coupable d'impiété;
8 And he shall bear his iniquity, for he has polluted what is holy to the Lord. And that soul shall perish from his people.	8 Il portera la peine de son iniquité, parce qu'il a souillé ce qui est consacré au Seigneur, et cet homme périra du milieu de son peuple.
9 When you will have harvested the grain fields of your land, you shall not cut it down to the surface of the land, even to the ground, nor shall you gather the remaining ears of grain.	9 Lorsque vous ferez la moisson dans vos champs, vous ne couperez point jusqu'au pied ce qui aura crû sur la terre, et vous ne ramasserez point les épis qui seront restés.
10 Neither shall you gather the clusters or individual grapes which fall down in your vineyard, but you shall leave them for paupers and travelers to take. I am the Lord your God.	10 Vous ne recueillerez point aussi dans votre vigne les grappes qui restent, ni les grains qui sont tombés; mais vous les laisserez prendre aux pauvres et aux étrangers. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
11 You shall not steal. You shall not lie. Neither shall anyone deceive his neighbor.	11 Vous ne déroberez point. Vous ne mentirez point, et nul ne trompera son prochain.
12 You shall not commit perjury in my name, nor shall you pollute the name of your God. I am the Lord.	12 Vous ne jurerez point faussement en mon nom, et vous ne profanerez pas le nom de votre Dieu. Je suis le Seigneur.
13 You shall not slander your neighbor, nor shall you oppress him by violence. The wages of a hired hand, you shall not delay with you until tomorrow.	13 Vous ne calomnierez pas votre prochain, et vous ne l'opprimerez point par violence. Le salaire du mercenaire qui vous donne son travail ne demeurera point chez vous jusqu'au matin.
14 You shall not speak evil of the deaf, nor shall you place a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall fear the Lord your God, for I am the Lord.	14 Vous ne maudirez point le sourd, et vous ne mettrez rien devant l'aveugle pour le faire tomber; mais vous craindrez le Seigneur votre Dieu, parce que Je suis le Seigneur.
15 You shall not do what is unjust, nor shall you judge unjustly. You shall not consider the reputation of the poor, nor shall you honor the countenance of the powerful. Judge your neighbor justly.	15 Vous ne ferez rien contre l'équité, et vous ne jugerez point injustement. N'ayez point d'égard contre la justice à la personne du pauvre, et ne respectez point contre la justice la personne de l'homme puissant. Jugez votre prochain selon la justice.
16 You shall not be a detractor, nor a whisperer, among the people. You shall not stand against the blood of your neighbor. I am the Lord.	16 Vous ne serez point parmi votre peuple ni un calomniateur public ni un médisant secret. Vous ne ferez point d'entreprises contre le sang de votre prochain. Je suis le Seigneur.
17 You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but reprove him openly, lest you have sin over him.	17 Vous ne haïrez point votre frère dans votre coeur, mais vous le reprendrez publiquement, de peur que vous ne péchiez vous-même à son sujet.
18 Do not seek revenge, neither should you be mindful of the injury of your fellow citizens. You shall love your friend as yourself. I am the Lord.	18 Ne cherchez point à vous venger, et ne conservez point le souvenir de l'injure de vos concitoyens. Vous aimerez votre prochain comme vous-même. Je suis le Seigneur.
19 Observe my laws. You shall not cause your cattle to breed with other kinds of animals. You shall not sow your field with diverse seeds. You shall not be clothed with a garment which has been woven from two things.	19 Gardez Mes lois. Vous n'accouplerez point une bête domestique avec des animaux d'une autre espèce. Vous ne sèmerez point votre champ de semences différentes. Vous ne vous revêtirez point d'un vêtement tissé de fils diffêrents.
20 If a man will have slept in sexual intercourse with a woman, who is a servant and who is also able to be married, and yet he has not redeemed her with a price, nor paid to set her free, they both shall be beaten, but they shall not die, for she was not a free woman.	20 Si un homme dort avec une femme, et abuse de celle qui était esclave et en âge d'être mariée, mais qui n'a point été rachetée à prix d'argent, et à qui on n'a point donné la liberté, ils seront battus tous deux, mais ils ne mourront pas, parce que ce n'était point une femme libre.
21 But, for his offense, he shall offer a ram to the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.	21 L'homme offrira au Seigneur pour sa faute un bélier à l'entrée du tabernacle du témoignage;
22 And the priest shall pray for him, and for his sin, before the Lord, and he shall win his favor again for him, and the sin shall be forgiven.	22 Le prêtre priera pour lui et pour son péché devant le Seigneur, et il rentrera en grâce devant le Seigneur, et son péché lui sera pardonné.
23 When you will have entered into the land, and will have planted in it fruit trees, you shall take away their first-fruits; the fruit that germinates shall be unclean to you, neither shall you eat from these.	23 Lorsque vous serez entrés dans la terre que Je vous ai promise, et que vous y aurez planté des arbres fruitiers, vous aurez soin de les circoncire, c'est-à-dire que les premiers fruits qui en sortiront vous étant impurs, vous n'en mangerez point.
24 But in the fourth year, all their fruit shall be sanctified for the praise of the Lord.	24 La quatrième année tout leur fruit sera sanctifié et consacré à la gloire du Seigneur;
25 And in the fifth year you shall eat the produce, gathering the fruits which are brought forth. I am the Lord your God.	25 Et la cinquième année vous en mangerez les fruits, en recueillant ce que chaque arbre aura porté. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
26 You shall not eat with blood. You shall not practice divination, nor the observation of dreams.	26 Vous ne mangerez rien avec le sang. Vous n'userez point d'augures, et vous n'observerez point les songes.
27 And you shall not cut the hair of your head circularly, nor shave your beard.	27 Vous ne couperez point vos cheveux en rond, et vous ne raserez point les coins de votre barbe.
28 You shall not cut your flesh for the dead, and you shall not make other figures or marks on yourself. I am the Lord.	28 Vous ne ferez point d'incisions dans votre chair en pleurant les morts, et vous ne ferez aucune figure ni aucune marque sur votre corps. Je suis le Seigneur.
29 Do not prostitute your daughter, lest the land be contaminated and filled with crimes.	29 Ne prostituez point votre fille, de peur que la terre ne soit souillée, et qu'elle ne soit remplie d'impiété.
30 Observe my Sabbaths, and be apprehensive toward my Sanctuary. I am the Lord.	30 Gardez Mes jours de sabbats, et tremblez devant Mon sanctuaire. Je suis le Seigneur.
31 Do not turn aside to astrologers, nor consult with soothsayers, so as to be polluted through them. I am the Lord your God.	31 Ne vous détournez point de votre Dieu pour aller chercher des magiciens, et ne consultez point les devins, de peur de vous souiller en vous adressant à eux. Le suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
32 Rise up in the presence of a gray-haired head, and honor the reputation of an elder, and fear the Lord your God. I am the Lord.	32 Levez-vous devant ceux qui ont les cheveux blancs, honorez la personne du vieillard; et craignez le Seigneur votre Dieu. Je suis le Seigneur.
33 If a newcomer lives in your land and abides among you, do not reproach him,	33 Si un étranger habite dans votre pays et demeure au milieu de vous, ne lui faites aucun reproche;
34 but let him be among you like one native born. And you shall love him as yourselves. For you were also newcomers in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.	34 Mais qu'il soit parmi vous comme s'il était né dans votre pays, et aimez-le comme vous-mêmes; car vous avez été aussi vous-mêmes étrangers dans l'Egypte. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
35 Do not be willing to accomplish iniquity in judgment, in lengths, in weights, in quantities.	35 Ne faites rien contre l'équité, ni dans les jugements, ni dans ce qui sert de règle, ni dans les poids, ni dans les mesures.
36 Let the scales be just and the weights equal, let the dry measure be just and the liquid measure be equal. I am the Lord your God, who led you away from the land of Egypt.	36 Que la balance soit juste, et les poids tels qu'ils doivent être; que le boisseau soit juste, et que le setier ait sa mesure. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu, qui vous ai tirés de l'Egypte.
37 Keep all my precepts, and all my judgments, and accomplish them. I am the Lord.	37 Gardez tous Mes préceptes et toutes Mes ordonnances, et exécutez-les. Je suis le Seigneur.
