Isaiah 16

1 O Lord, send forth the Lamb, the Ruler of the earth, from the Rock of the desert to the mountain of the daughter of Zion.	1 Mandate l’agnello di colui che domina nel paese, da Sela, che è inverso il deserto, al monte della figliuola di Sion.
2 And this shall be: like a bird fleeing away, and like fledglings flying from the nest, so will the daughters of Moab be at the passage of Arnon.	2 Ed egli avverrà, che le figliuole di Moab saranno a’ guadi dell’Arnon, come un uccello ramingo, come una nidiata scacciata.
3 Form a plan. Call a council. Let your shadow be as if it were night, even at midday. Conceal the fugitives, and do not betray the wanderers.	3 Prendi un consiglio, o Moab, fa’ un decreto; fa’ che la tua ombra, in pien mezzodì, sia come la notte; nascondi quelli che sono scacciati, non palesare i fuggitivi.
4 My fugitives will live with you. Become a hiding place, O Moab, from the face of the destroyer. For the dust is at its end; the miserable one has been consumed. He who trampled the earth has failed.	4 Que’ del mio popolo che sono scacciati, dimorino appresso di te; o Moab, sii loro un nascondimento dal guastatore; perciocchè colui che usava storsioni verrà meno, e il guastamento finirà, e coloro che calpestavano gli altri saran consumati d’in su la terra.
5 And a throne will be prepared in mercy, and One shall sit upon it in truth, in the tabernacle of David, judging and seeking judgment, and quickly repaying what is just.	5 E il trono sarà stabilito in benignità; e sopra quello sederà stabilmente, nel tabernacolo di Davide, uno che giudicherà, e ricercherà la ragione, e sarà pronto a far giustizia
6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud. His pride and his arrogance and his indignation is more than his strength.	6 Noi abbiamo intesa la superbia di Moab, grandemente superbo; il suo orgoglio, e la sua alterezza, e la sua indegnazione; le sue menzogne non saranno cosa ferma.
7 For this reason, Moab will wail to Moab; each one will wail. Speak of their wounds to those who rejoice upon the brick walls.	7 Perciò, l’un Moabita urlerà all’altro; tutti quanti urleranno; voi gemerete per li fondamenti di Chir-hareset, essendo voi stessi feriti.
8 For the suburbs of Heshbon are deserted, and the lords of the Gentiles have cut down the vineyard of Sibmah. Its vines have arrived even at Jazer. They have wandered in the desert. Its seedlings have been abandoned. They have crossed over the sea.	8 Perciocchè le campagne di Hesbon, e le vigne di Sibma languiscono; i padroni delle nazioni hanno tritate le viti eccellenti di essa, le quali arrivavano infino a Iazer, e scorrevano qua e là per lo deserto; e le sue propaggini, che si spandevano, e passavano di là dal mare.
9 I will weep with the tears of Jazer over this, the vineyard of Sibmah. I will inebriate you with my tears, Heshbon and Elealeh! For the sound of those who trample has rushed over your vintage and over your harvest.	9 Perciò, io piangerò le vigne di Sibma del pianto di Iazer; o Hesbon, ed Eleale, io ti righerò delle mie lagrime; perciocchè le grida di allegrezza per li tuoi frutti di state, e per la tua ricolta, son venute meno.
10 And so, rejoicing and exultation will be taken away from Carmel, and there will be no jubilation or exultation in the vineyards. He who was accustomed to tread will not tread out the wine in the winepress. I have taken away the sound of those who tread.	10 E la letizia, e la festa è tolta via dal campo fertile; e non si canta, nè si giubila più nelle vigne; il pigiatore non pigia più il vino ne’ tini; io ho fatte cessare, dice il Signore, le grida da inanimare.
11 Over this, my heart will resonate like a harp for Moab, and my inner most being for the brick wall.	11 Perciò, le mie viscere romoreggeranno a guisa di cetera, per cagion di Moab; e le mie interiora, per cagion di Chir-heres.
12 And this shall be: when it is seen that Moab has struggled upon his high places, he will enter his holy places to pray, but he will not prevail.	12 Ed avverrà che, quantunque Moab si presenti, e si affatichi sopra il suo alto luogo, e venga al suo santuario, per fare orazione; pur non potrà avanzar nulla.
13 This is the word that the Lord has spoken to Moab concerning that time.	13 Quest’è la parola che il Signore ha detta contro a Moab, ab antico.
14 And now the Lord has spoken, saying: In three years, like the years of a hired hand, the glory of Moab concerning the entire multitude of the people will be taken away, and what is left behind will be small and weak and not so numerous.	14 Ed ora il Signore ha parlato, dicendo: Infra tre anni, quale è il termine degli anni d’un servitore tolto a prezzo, la gloria di Moab sarà avvilita, insieme con tutta la sua gran moltitudine di popolo; e il rimanente sarà in poco numero, piccolo, e non grande.
