1 Love justice, you who judge the land. Think of the Lord in goodness and seek him in simplicity of heart.	1 Amate la giustizia, voi che giudicate la terra; sentite del Signore in bontade, e cercate di lui in simplicitate di cuore.
2 For he is found by those who do not test him, yet he reveals himself to those who have faith in him.	2 Però ch' egli è trovato da coloro che non lo tentano; e lui apparisce a coloro che hanno fede in lui.
3 For perverse thoughts separate from God. But his virtue, when it is tested, corrects the foolish.	3 Le perverse cogitazioni dividono da Dio; e la provata virtude castiga li matti.
4 For wisdom will not enter into a malicious soul, nor dwell in a body subdued by sin.	4 Però che nella malevola anima non entrerae sapienza, e non abiterae nel corpo soggetto alli peccati.
5 For the holy spirit of instruction will flee from falsehood, and he will withdraw himself from thoughts that are without understanding, and he will not be reached when iniquity overcomes.	5 Lo spirito santo della disciplina fuggirae l'uomo doppio, e torrassi dallo intelletto che è stolto, e sarà castigato delle sopravegnenti iniquitadi (sue).
6 For the spirit of wisdom is benevolent, and will not release the evil speaker from his talk, because God is a witness of his temperament, and a true examiner of his heart, and an auditor of his words.	6 Lo spirito della sapienza è (buono e) benigno; e non libererae il maladetto de' suoi labri; però che Dio è testimonio delle reni di colui, e sì è vero cercatore del suo cuore, e auditore della lingua di colui.
7 For the spirit of the Lord has filled the world, and he who contains all things, retains knowledge of every voice.	7 Però che lo spirito (di colui, cioè) del Signore sì riempiè il mondo; e quello che contiene tutte le cose ha scienza delle parole di tutti.
8 Therefore, he who speaks unjust things cannot escape notice, nor will the chastising judgment pass him by.	8 E per questo colui che parla cose inique, non si puote celare; e colui che corregge nel giudicio non lo lascerà impunito.
9 For inquiry will be made into the thoughts of the impious, his conversation also will reach the hearing of God, to the chastising of his iniquities.	9 Nelli pensieri del malvagio sarà fatta domanda; l'udita delli sermoni di colui perviene a Dio, a correzione della iniquitade di colui.
10 For the zealous ear hears all things, and the disturbance of complaining will not be hidden.	10 Però che l'orecchio del zelo odé tutte le cose; e lo rumore de' mormoranti non si nasconderae.
11 Therefore, keep yourselves from complaining, which benefits nothing, and refrain your tongue from slander, because secret conversation will not pass into nothingness, and the mouth that deceives kills the soul.	11 Guardatevi dunque dal mormorare, lo quale nulla giova, e non consentite alla lingua di biasimare, però che la oscura parola non anderae in vôto; la lingua che mente uccide l'anima.
12 Do not court death by the error of your life, nor procure your destruction by the works of your hands,	12 Non amate la morte in errore di vostra vita, e non acquistate perdimento nell' opere delle mani vostre.
13 because God did not make death, nor does he rejoice in the loss of the living.	13 Però che Iddio non fece la morte, e non si rallegra nel perdimento de' vivi.
14 For he created all things that they might exist, and he made the nations of the world curable, and there is no medicine of extermination in them, nor a kingdom of hell upon the earth.	14 Iddio creoe, acciò che fussono, tutte le cose; e fece sanabili le nazioni del mondo; non è in quelle medicamento di esterminio, nè in terra è regno delli infernali.
15 For justice is perpetual and immortal.	15 La giustizia è perpetua e immortale; (ma la ingiustizia è acquisto di morte).
16 But the impious, with hands and words, have called death to them, and, esteeming it a friend, they have fallen away and have made a covenant with death, because they deserved to take part in it.	16 Li malvagi chiamarono la morte colle mani e con le parole; estimando loro essere amica, discorsono, e puosono promissioni a quella; però ch' elli sono degni di morte coloro che sono dalla sua parte.
