1 The impious flees, though no one pursues. But the just, like a confident lion, shall be without dread.	1 - Il malvagio fugge senza che alcuno lo insegua, mentre il giusto, sicuro come il leone, starà.
2 Because of the sins of the land, it has many princes. And because of the wisdom of a man, and the knowledge of those things that are said, the life of the leader shall be prolonged.	2 Per i peccati d'un pa ese molti sono i principi; ma per la sapienza d'un che sa quel che si dice, la vita dolce sarà più diuturna.
3 A poor man slandering the poor is like a violent rainstorm in advance of a famine.	3 Un personaggio povero che opprime i poveriè simile a una pioggia violenta portatrice di carestia.
4 Those who abandon the law praise the impious. Those who guard it are inflamed against him.	4 I disertori della legge inneggiano l'empio e gli osservanti s'infiammano contro.
5 Evil men do not intend judgment. But those who inquire after the Lord turn their souls toward all things.	5 Gli uomini malvagi giustizia non ne intendono, a quelli che cercano il Signore considerano tutto.
6 Better is the pauper walking in his simplicity, than the rich walking in ways of depravity.	6 È meglio un povero che cammina nella sua semplicitàche un ricco di perversa condotta.
7 Whoever keeps the law is a wise son. But whoever feeds gluttons brings shame to his father.	7 Chi osserva la legge è un figlio giudizioso, ma chi fa vita coi crapuloni, disonora suo padre.
8 Whoever piles up riches by usury and profit gathers them for him who will give freely to the poor.	8 Chi ammassa le ricchezze cogli interessi e colle usurele raduna per chi largheggia coi poverelli.
9 Whoever turns away his ears from listening to the law: his prayer will be detestable.	9 Chi torce l'orecchio per non udire la leggesarà esecrabile fin anche nella sua preghiera.
10 Whoever deceives the just in a malicious way will fall into his own perdition. And the simple shall possess his goods.	10 Chi svia i giusti per la malvagia strada precipita nella rovina che aveva preparata, e gl'innocenti possederanno i suoi beni.
11 The rich one seems wise to himself. But the poor one, being prudent, shall evaluate him.	11 L'uomo ricco si crede sapiente, ma il povero intelligente lo sottoporrà ad esame.
12 In the exultation of the just, there is great glory. When the impious reign, men are brought to ruin.	12 Nel trionfare dei giusti v'è molta gloria, e dove regnano gli empi c'è la ruina degli uomini.
13 Whoever hides his crimes will not be guided. But whoever will have confessed and abandoned them shall overtake mercy.	13 Chi nasconde le sue colpe non riuscirà, e chi le confessa e le lascia, otterrà misericordia.
14 Blessed is the man who is ever fearful. Yet truly, whoever is hardened in mind will fall into evil.	14 Beato l'uomo che è sempre timoroso, ma chi indura il cuore cadrà nel male.
15 An impious leader over a poor people is like a roaring lion and a hungry bear.	15 Un leone che rugge e un orso affamatoè un principe empio sopra un popolo povero.
16 A leader destitute of prudence will oppress many through false accusations. But whoever hates avarice shall prolong his days.	16 Un capo scemo di prudenza opprimerà molti con vessazioni, ma chi è nemico dell'avarizia avrà lunghi giorni.
17 A man who slanders the blood of a life, even if he flees to the pit, no one will tolerate him.	17 L'uomo ch'è reo di sangue umano, se fugge verso la fossa nessuno lo trattenga.
18 Whoever walks simply shall be saved. Whoever is perverse in his steps will fall all at once.	18 Chi cammina con semplicità sarà salvo, chi va per vie torte, verrà la volta che cadrà.
19 Whoever works his land shall be satisfied with bread. But whoever pursues leisure will be filled with need.	19 Chi lavora il suo terreno avrà pane da saziarsie chi seguita ad oziare, sarà pieno di miseria.
20 A faithful man shall be greatly praised. But whoever rushes to become rich will not be innocent.	20 Il galantuomo sarà molto lodato, e chi ha fretta di farsi ricco non sarà senza colpe.
21 Whoever shows favoritism in judgment does not do well; even if it is for a morsel of bread, he forsakes the truth.	21 Chi in giudizio è accettator di persone, non fa bene; costui, anche per un tozzo di pane, metterà in non cale la verità.
22 A man who hurries to become rich, and who envies others, does not know that destitution will overwhelm him.	22 L'uomo che ha fretta di arricchire e agogna a quel degli altri, non sa che lo incoglierà la penuria.
23 Whoever corrects a man, afterward he shall find favor with him, more so than he who deceives him with a flattering tongue.	23 Chi riprende una persona troverà in fine maggior grazia presso di essache colui che la inganna con le adulazioni della sua lingua.
24 Whoever takes away anything from his father or mother, and who says, “This is not a sin,” is the associate of a murderer.	24 Chi deruba suo padre e sua madre e dice: «Non c'è peccato»fa la parte dell'assassino.
25 Whoever boasts and enlarges himself stirs up conflicts. Yet truly, whoever trusts in the Lord will be healed.	25 Chi si dilata in boriose parole, attizza le contese, ma chi spera nel Signore sarà salvo.
26 Whoever trusts in his own heart is a fool. But whoever treads wisely, the same shall be saved.	26 Chi si confida nel proprio cuore è uno stolto, e chi procede con saggezza se ne andrà salvo.
27 Whoever gives to the poor shall not be in need. Whoever despises his petition will suffer scarcity.	27 Chi dà al povero non impoveriràe chi disprezza chi chiede, soffrirà penuria.
28 When the impious rise up, men will hide themselves. When they perish, the just shall be multiplied.	28 Quando gli empi alzeranno il capo, la gente si nasconderà e quando saranno periti, si moltiplicheranno i giusti.
