Psalms 32

1 A Psalm of David. Exult in the Lord, you just ones; together praise the upright.	1 Exultai no Senhor, ó justos, pois aos retos convém o louvor.
2 Confess to the Lord with stringed instruments; sing psalms to him with the psaltery, the instrument of ten strings.	2 Celebrai o Senhor com a cítara, entoai-lhe hinos na harpa de dez cordas.
3 Sing to him a new song. Sing psalms to him skillfully, with loud exclamation.	3 Cantai-lhe um cântico novo, acompanhado de instrumentos de música,
4 For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his works are in faith.	4 porque a palavra do Senhor é reta, em todas as suas obras resplandece a fidelidade:
5 He loves mercy and judgment. The earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.	5 ele ama a justiça e o direito, da bondade do Senhor está cheia a terra.
6 By the word of the Lord, the heavens were established, and all their power, by the Spirit of his mouth:	6 Pela palavra do Senhor foram feitos os céus, e pelo sopro de sua boca todo o seu exército.
7 gathering together the waters of the sea, as if in a container, placing the depths in storage.	7 Ele junta as águas do mar como num cantil, e em reservatórios encerra as ondas.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord, and may all the inhabitants of the world quake before him.	8 Tema ao Senhor toda a terra; reverenciem-no todos os habitantes do globo.
9 For he spoke, and they became. He commanded, and they were created.	9 Porque ele disse e tudo foi feito, ele ordenou e tudo existiu.
10 The Lord scatters the counsels of the nations. Moreover, he reproves the thoughts of the people, and he rejects the counsels of the leaders.	10 O Senhor desfaz os planos das nações pagãs, reduz a nada os projetos dos povos.
11 But the counsel of the Lord remains for eternity, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.	11 Só os desígnios do Senhor permanecem eternamente e os pensamentos de seu coração por todas as gerações.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his inheritance.	12 Feliz a nação que tem o Senhor por seu Deus, e o povo que ele escolheu para sua herança.
13 The Lord has looked down from heaven. He has seen all the sons of men.	13 O Senhor olha do céu, vê todos os filhos dos homens.
14 From his well-prepared dwelling place, he has gazed upon all who dwell on the earth.	14 Do alto de sua morada observa todos os habitantes da terra;
15 He has formed the hearts of each one of them; he understands all their works.	15 ele, que formou o coração de cada um, está atento a cada uma de suas ações.
16 The king is not saved by great power, nor will the giant be saved by his many powers.	16 Não vence o rei pelo numeroso exército, nem se livra o guerreiro pela grande força.
17 The horse is false safety; for he will not be saved by the abundance of his powers.	17 O cavalo não é penhor de vitória, nem salva pela sua resistência.
18 Behold, the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him and on those who hope in his mercy,	18 Eis os olhos do Senhor pousados sobre os que o temem, sobre os que esperam na sua bondade,
19 so as to rescue their souls from death and to feed them during famine.	19 a fim de livrar-lhes a alma da morte e nutri-los no tempo da fome.
20 Our soul remains with the Lord. For he is our helper and protector.	20 Nossa alma espera no Senhor, porque ele é nosso amparo e nosso escudo.
21 For in him, our heart will rejoice, and in his holy name, we have hoped.	21 Nele, pois, se alegra o nosso coração, em seu santo nome confiamos.
22 Let your mercy be upon us, O Lord, just as we have hoped in you.	22 Seja-nos manifestada, Senhor, a vossa misericórdia, como a esperamos de vós.
