¹ A Psalm of David. Exult in the Lord, you just ones; together praise the upright.	¹ Exultai no Senhor, ó justos, pois aos retos convém o louvor.
² Confess to the Lord with stringed instruments; sing psalms to him with the psaltery, the instrument of ten strings.	² Celebrai o Senhor com a cítara, entoai-lhe hinos na harpa de dez cordas.
³ Sing to him a new song. Sing psalms to him skillfully, with loud exclamation.	³ Cantai-lhe um cântico novo, acompanhado de instrumentos de música,
⁴ For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his works are in faith.	⁴ porque a palavra do Senhor é reta, em todas as suas obras resplandece a fidelidade:
⁵ He loves mercy and judgment. The earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.	⁵ ele ama a justiça e o direito, da bondade do Senhor está cheia a terra.
⁶ By the word of the Lord, the heavens were established, and all their power, by the Spirit of his mouth:	⁶ Pela palavra do Senhor foram feitos os céus, e pelo sopro de sua boca todo o seu exército.
⁷ gathering together the waters of the sea, as if in a container, placing the depths in storage.	⁷ Ele junta as águas do mar como num cantil, e em reservatórios encerra as ondas.
⁸ Let all the earth fear the Lord, and may all the inhabitants of the world quake before him.	⁸ Tema ao Senhor toda a terra; reverenciem-no todos os habitantes do globo.
⁹ For he spoke, and they became. He commanded, and they were created.	⁹ Porque ele disse e tudo foi feito, ele ordenou e tudo existiu.
¹⁰ The Lord scatters the counsels of the nations. Moreover, he reproves the thoughts of the people, and he rejects the counsels of the leaders.	¹⁰ O Senhor desfaz os planos das nações pagãs, reduz a nada os projetos dos povos.
¹¹ But the counsel of the Lord remains for eternity, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.	¹¹ Só os desígnios do Senhor permanecem eternamente e os pensamentos de seu coração por todas as gerações.
¹² Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his inheritance.	¹² Feliz a nação que tem o Senhor por seu Deus, e o povo que ele escolheu para sua herança.
¹³ The Lord has looked down from heaven. He has seen all the sons of men.	¹³ O Senhor olha do céu, vê todos os filhos dos homens.
¹⁴ From his well-prepared dwelling place, he has gazed upon all who dwell on the earth.	¹⁴ Do alto de sua morada observa todos os habitantes da terra;
¹⁵ He has formed the hearts of each one of them; he understands all their works.	¹⁵ ele, que formou o coração de cada um, está atento a cada uma de suas ações.
¹⁶ The king is not saved by great power, nor will the giant be saved by his many powers.	¹⁶ Não vence o rei pelo numeroso exército, nem se livra o guerreiro pela grande força.
¹⁷ The horse is false safety; for he will not be saved by the abundance of his powers.	¹⁷ O cavalo não é penhor de vitória, nem salva pela sua resistência.
¹⁸ Behold, the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him and on those who hope in his mercy,	¹⁸ Eis os olhos do Senhor pousados sobre os que o temem, sobre os que esperam na sua bondade,
¹⁹ so as to rescue their souls from death and to feed them during famine.	¹⁹ a fim de livrar-lhes a alma da morte e nutri-los no tempo da fome.
²⁰ Our soul remains with the Lord. For he is our helper and protector.	²⁰ Nossa alma espera no Senhor, porque ele é nosso amparo e nosso escudo.
²¹ For in him, our heart will rejoice, and in his holy name, we have hoped.	²¹ Nele, pois, se alegra o nosso coração, em seu santo nome confiamos.
²² Let your mercy be upon us, O Lord, just as we have hoped in you.	²² Seja-nos manifestada, Senhor, a vossa misericórdia, como a esperamos de vós.
