Unto the end. A Psalm of David according to an ecstasy.1 εις το τελος ψαλμος τω δαυιδ εκστασεως
In you, Lord, I have hoped; let me never be confounded. In your justice, deliver me.2 επι σοι κυριε ηλπισα μη καταισχυνθειην εις τον αιωνα εν τη δικαιοσυνη σου ρυσαι με και εξελου με
Incline your ear to me. Hasten to rescue me. Be for me a protector God and a house of refuge, so as to accomplish my salvation.3 κλινον προς με το ους σου ταχυνον του εξελεσθαι με γενου μοι εις θεον υπερασπιστην και εις οικον καταφυγης του σωσαι με
For you are my strength and my refuge; and for the sake of your name, you will lead me and nourish me.4 οτι κραταιωμα μου και καταφυγη μου ει συ και ενεκεν του ονοματος σου οδηγησεις με και διαθρεψεις με
You will lead me out of this snare, which they have hidden for me. For you are my protector.5 εξαξεις με εκ παγιδος ταυτης ης εκρυψαν μοι οτι συ ει ο υπερασπιστης μου
Into your hands, I commend my spirit. You have redeemed me, O Lord, God of truth.6 εις χειρας σου παραθησομαι το πνευμα μου ελυτρωσω με κυριε ο θεος της αληθειας
You have hated those who practice emptiness to no purpose. But I have hoped in the Lord.7 εμισησας τους διαφυλασσοντας ματαιοτητας δια κενης εγω δε επι τω κυριω ηλπισα
I will exult and rejoice in your mercy. For you have looked upon my humility; you have saved my soul from needfulness.8 αγαλλιασομαι και ευφρανθησομαι επι τω ελεει σου οτι επειδες την ταπεινωσιν μου εσωσας εκ των αναγκων την ψυχην μου
And you have not enclosed me in the hands of the enemy. You have set my feet in a spacious place.9 και ου συνεκλεισας με εις χειρας εχθρου εστησας εν ευρυχωρω τους ποδας μου
Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am troubled. My eye has been disturbed by wrath, along with my soul and my gut.10 ελεησον με κυριε οτι θλιβομαι εταραχθη εν θυμω ο οφθαλμος μου η ψυχη μου και η γαστηρ μου
For my life has fallen into sorrow, and my years into sighing. My virtue has been weakened in poverty, and my bones have been disturbed.11 οτι εξελιπεν εν οδυνη η ζωη μου και τα ετη μου εν στεναγμοις ησθενησεν εν πτωχεια η ισχυς μου και τα οστα μου εταραχθησαν
I have become a disgrace among all my enemies, and even more so to my neighbors, and a dread to my acquaintances. Those who catch sight of me, flee away from me.12 παρα παντας τους εχθρους μου εγενηθην ονειδος και τοις γειτοσιν μου σφοδρα και φοβος τοις γνωστοις μου οι θεωρουντες με εξω εφυγον απ' εμου
I have become forgotten, like one dead to the heart. I have become like a damaged utensil.13 επελησθην ωσει νεκρος απο καρδιας εγενηθην ωσει σκευος απολωλος
For I have heard the harsh criticism of many who linger in the area. While assembled together against me in that place, they deliberated on how to take away my life.14 οτι ηκουσα ψογον πολλων παροικουντων κυκλοθεν εν τω επισυναχθηναι αυτους αμα επ' εμε του λαβειν την ψυχην μου εβουλευσαντο
But I have hoped in you, O Lord. I said, “You are my God.”15 εγω δε επι σε ηλπισα κυριε ειπα συ ει ο θεος μου
My fate is in your hands. Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who are persecuting me.16 εν ταις χερσιν σου οι καιροι μου ρυσαι με εκ χειρος εχθρων μου και εκ των καταδιωκοντων με
Shine your face upon your servant. Save me in your mercy.17 επιφανον το προσωπον σου επι τον δουλον σου σωσον με εν τω ελεει σου
Do not let me be confounded, Lord, for I have called upon you. Let the impious be ashamed and be drawn down into Hell.18 κυριε μη καταισχυνθειην οτι επεκαλεσαμην σε αισχυνθειησαν οι ασεβεις και καταχθειησαν εις αδου
May deceitful lips be silenced: those that speak iniquity against the just, in arrogance and in abusiveness.19 αλαλα γενηθητω τα χειλη τα δολια τα λαλουντα κατα του δικαιου ανομιαν εν υπερηφανια και εξουδενωσει
How great is the multitude of your sweetness, O Lord, which you keep hidden for those who fear you, which you have perfected for those who hope in you, in the sight of the sons of men.20 ως πολυ το πληθος της χρηστοτητος σου κυριε ης εκρυψας τοις φοβουμενοις σε εξειργασω τοις ελπιζουσιν επι σε εναντιον των υιων των ανθρωπων
You hide them in the concealment of your face, from the disturbance of men. You protect them in your tabernacle, from the contradiction of tongues.21 κατακρυψεις αυτους εν αποκρυφω του προσωπου σου απο ταραχης ανθρωπων σκεπασεις αυτους εν σκηνη απο αντιλογιας γλωσσων
Blessed is the Lord. For he has shown his wonderful mercy to me, in a fortified city.22 ευλογητος κυριος οτι εθαυμαστωσεν το ελεος αυτου εν πολει περιοχης
But I said in the excess of my mind: “I have been cast away from the glance of your eyes.” And so, you heeded the voice of my prayer, while I was still crying out to you.23 εγω δε ειπα εν τη εκστασει μου απερριμμαι αρα απο προσωπου των οφθαλμων σου δια τουτο εισηκουσας της φωνης της δεησεως μου εν τω κεκραγεναι με προς σε
Love the Lord, all you his saints. For the Lord will require truth, and he will abundantly repay those who act with arrogance.24 αγαπησατε τον κυριον παντες οι οσιοι αυτου οτι αληθειας εκζητει κυριος και ανταποδιδωσιν τοις περισσως ποιουσιν υπερηφανιαν
Act manfully, and let your heart be strengthened, all you who hope in the Lord.25 ανδριζεσθε και κραταιουσθω η καρδια υμων παντες οι ελπιζοντες επι κυριον
