1 I will not rouse him, as the cruel would do, for who is able to withstand my countenance?	1 Ninguém se atreve a provocá-lo, nem sequer pode estar firme, diante dele.
2 Who has given to me beforehand, so that I should repay him? All things that are under heaven are mine.	2 Quem me deu a mim alguma coisa antes, para que eu lenha de retribuir-lhe? Tudo o que hã debaixo do céu, é meu.
3 I will not spare him, nor his powerful words and counterfeit attempts at supplication.	3 Não calarei (a glória de) seus membros, direi o seu vigor incomparável.
4 Who can reveal the beauty of his garment? And who can enter the middle of his mouth?	4 Quem, jamais, ergueu os bordos de sua couraça, ou explorou a dupla fila doe seus dentes?
5 Who can open the doors of his face? I gave fear to the circle of his teeth.	5 Quem abriu as portas da sua boca? Em volta dos seus dentes está o terror.
6 His body is like shields fused together, like dense scales pressed over one another.	6 O seu dorso é uma armação de escudos, apinhoado de escamas que se apertam.
7 One is joined to another, and not even air can pass between them.	7 Uma está unida à outra, de sorte que nem o vento passa por entre elas:
8 They adhere to one another, and they hold themselves in place and will not be separated.	8 uma adere à outra, tão perfeitamente, que, de maneira nenhuma, se separarão.
9 His sneezing has the brilliance of fire, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.	9 O seu espirrar é flamejante os seus olhos como pálpebras da aurora.
10 Lamps proceed from his mouth, like torches of fire burning brightly.	10 Da sua boca saem chamas, saltam centelhas de fogo.
11 Smoke passes out of his nostrils, like a pot that is heated and boiling.	11 Das suas narinas sai fumo, como duma panela que ferve entre chamas.
12 His breath causes coal to burn, and a flame comes forth from his mouth.	12 O seu hálito faz incendiar os carvões, da sua boca sai uma chama.
13 Strength dwells in his neck, and destitution goes before his presence.	13 No seu pescoço está a força, e diante dele salta o terror.
14 The parts of his body work in harmony together. He will send lightning bolts against him, and they will not be carried to another place.	14 Os membros do seu corpo estão bem unidos entre si; cairão raios sobre ele, e não o farão mover para outro lugar.
15 His heart will be as hard as a stone and as dense as a blacksmith’s anvil.	15 O seu coração é duro como pedra, sólido como a mó inferior dum moinho.
16 When he will be raised up, the angels will be afraid, and, because they are terrified, they will purify themselves.	16 Quando se levanta (sobre as águas) temem os mais fortes, o terror os faz desfalecer.
17 When a sword catches up with him, it will not be able to settle in, nor a spear, nor a breastplate.	17 Se alguém o assalta, a espada (que o toca) não resiste, nem a lança, nem o dardo, nem a flecha,
18 For he will consider iron as if it were chaff, and brass as if it were rotten wood.	18 pois o ferro é para ele como palha, e o bronze como um pau podre.
19 The archer will not cause him to flee; the stones of the sling have been turned into stubble for him.	19 Não o fará fugir o frecheiro, as pedras da funda se tornarão para ele em palhas.
20 He will treat the hammer as if it were stubble, and he will ridicule those who brandish the spear.	20 Reputará o martelo como palheira, e rir-se-á do brandir da lança,
21 The beams of the sun will be under him, and he will dispense gold to them as if it were clay.	21 O seu ventre é guarnecido como que de bocados ponteagudos de telha, é como uma grade que passa sobre o lodo.
22 He will make the depths of the sea boil like a pot, and he will set it to bubble just as ointments do.	22 Fará ferver o abismo como uma panela, e o torna como um vaso de perfumes em ebulição.
23 A path will shine after him; he will esteem the abyss as if it were weakening with age.	23 Deixa atrás de si uma esteira branca, faz parecer que o abismo (das águas que ele atravessa) tem cabelos brancos.
24 There is no power on the earth that is being compared to him, who has been made so that he fears no one.	24 Não há poder sobre a terra que se compare, pois foi feito para não ler medo de nada.
25 He sees every prominent thing; he is king over all the sons of arrogance.	25 Olha sobranceiramente tudo o que é elevado, ele é o rei dos mais altivos animais.
