1 And the Lord said to Moses: “Now you will see what I shall do to Pharaoh. For through a strong hand he will release them, and by a mighty hand he will cast them from his land.”	1 Le Seigneur dit à Moïse : (C'est maintenant que) Tu verras maintenant ce que je vais faire au (à) Pharaon. Car je le contraindrai par la force de mon bras à laisser aller les Israélites, et ma main puissante l'obligera de les chasser de son pays.
2 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “I am the Lord,	2 Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse, et lui dit : Je suis le Seigneur,
3 who appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as Almighty God. And I did not reveal to them my name: ADONAI.	3 qui ai apparu à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob comme le Dieu tout-puissant ; mais je ne leur ai point fait connaître mon nom de Jéhovah (Adonaï, note).
4 And I formed a covenant with them, in order to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their sojourning, in which they were newcomers.	4 Et j'ai fait alliance avec eux en leur promettant de leur donner la terre de Chanaan, la terre de leurs pérégrinations, où ils ont demeuré comme étrangers.
5 I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, with which the Egyptians have oppressed them. And I have remembered my covenant.	5 J'ai entendu les gémissements des enfants d'Israël parmi les travaux dont les Egyptiens les accablent, et je me suis souvenu de mon alliance.
6 For this reason, say to the sons of Israel: I am the Lord who will lead you away from the work house of the Egyptians, and rescue you from servitude, and also redeem you with an exalted arm and great judgments.	6 C'est pourquoi dis aux enfants d'Israël : Je suis le Seigneur : c'est moi qui vous tirerai de la prison des Egyptiens, qui vous délivrerai de la servitude et qui vous rachèterai par la force de mon bras et par des jugements éclatants (grands).
7 And I will take you to myself as my people, and I will be your God. And you will know that I am the Lord your God, who led you away from the work house of the Egyptians,	7 (Et) Je vous prendrai pour mon peuple et je serai votre Dieu, et (ainsi) vous saurez que c'est moi qui suis le Seigneur votre Dieu lorsque je vous aurai délivrés de la prison des Egyptiens ;
8 and who brought you into the land, over which I lifted up my hand in order to grant it to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And I will grant it to you as a possession. I am the Lord.”	8 et que je vous aurai fait entrer dans cette terre que j'ai juré de donner à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob ; car je vous la donnerai et vous en mettrai en possession, moi qui suis le Seigneur.
9 And so, Moses explained all these things to the sons of Israel, who did not agree with him, because of their anguish of spirit and very difficult work.	9 Moïse rapporta donc tout cela aux enfants d'Israël ; mais ils ne l'écoutèrent point, à cause de leur extrême angoisse et de leurs rudes travaux.
10 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	10 Dieu parla ensuite à Moïse et lui dit :
11 “Enter and speak to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, so that he may release the sons of Israel from his land.”	11 Va trouver (le) Pharaon, le roi d'Egypte, et parle-lui, afin qu'il permette aux enfants d'Israël de sortir de son pays.
12 Moses responded in the sight the Lord: “Behold, the sons of Israel do not listen to me. And how will Pharaoh listen to me, especially since I am of uncircumcised lips?”	12 Moïse répondit au Seigneur : Vous voyez que les enfants d'Israël ne m'écoutent point ; comment donc le Pharaon m'écouterait-il, d'autant plus que je suis incirconcis des lèvres ?
13 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, and he gave them a commandment for the sons of Israel, and for Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, that they should lead the sons of Israel away from the land of Egypt.	13 Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse et à Aaron ; il leur donna ordre d'aller trouver les enfants d'Israël et le Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, pour faire sortir d'Egypte les enfants d'Israël.
14 These are the leaders of the houses by their families. The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi.	14 Voici les noms des princes (chefs) des maisons selon leurs familles. Les enfants (fils) de Ruben, fils aîné d'Israël, furent Hénoch, Phallu, Hesron et Charmi.
15 These are the kindred of Reuben. The sons of Simeon: Jemuel and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul, the son of a Canaanite women. These are the progeny of Simeon.	15 Ce sont là les familles de Ruben. Les enfants de Siméon furent Jamuel, Jamin, Ahod, Jachin, Soar et Saül, fils d'une femme de Chanaan. Ce sont là les familles de Siméon.
16 And these are the names of the sons of Levi by their kindred: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari. Now the years of the life of Levi were one hundred and thirty-seven.	16 (Et) Voici les noms des enfants de Lévi et la suite de leurs familles. Ses enfants (fils) furent Gerson, Caath et Mérari. Le temps de la vie de Lévi fut de cent trente-sept ans.
17 The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, by their kindred.	17 Les enfants (fils) de Gerson furent Lobni et Séméi, qui eurent chacun (selon) leurs familles (parentés).
18 The sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron and Uzziel. Likewise, the years of the life of Kohath were one hundred and thirty-three.	18 Les enfants (fils) de Caath furent Amram, Isaar, Hébron et Oziel. Le temps de la vie de Caath fut de cent trente-trois ans.
19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the kindred of Levi by their families.	19 Les enfants (fils) de Mérari furent Moholi et Musi. Ce sont là les enfants sortis (la parenté) de Lévi, chacun dans sa famille.
20 Now Amram took as a wife Jochebed, his paternal aunt, who bore for him Aaron and Moses. And the years of the life of Amram were one hundred and thirty-seven.	20 Or Amram épousa Jochabed, fille de son oncle paternel, dont il eut Aaron et Moïse ; et le temps que vécut Amram fut de cent trente-sept ans.
21 Likewise, the sons of Izhar: Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.	21 Les enfants (fils) d'Isaar furent Coré, Népheg et Zéchri.
22 Likewise, the sons of Uzziel: Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Sithri.	22 Les enfants (fils) d'Oziel furent Misaël, Elisaphan et Séthri.
23 Now Aaron took as a wife Elizabeth, the daughter of Amminadab, sister of Nahshon, who bore for him Nadab, and Abihu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.	23 (Or) Aaron épousa Elisabeth, fille d'Aminadab, sœur de Nahasson, dont il eut Nadab, Abiu, Eléazar et Ithamar.
24 Likewise, the sons of Korah: Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph. These are the kindred of the Korahites.	24 Les enfants (fils) de Coré furent Aser, Elcana et Abiasaph. Ce sont là les familles sorties de Coré (la parenté des Corites).
25 And truly Eleazar, the son of Aaron, took a wife from the daughters of Putiel. And she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the Levitical families by their kindred.	25 Eléazar, fils d'Aaron, épousa une des filles de Phutiel, dont il eut Phinées. Ce sont là les chefs des familles de Lévi, qui eurent chacun leurs enfants (selon leur parenté).
26 These are Aaron and Moses, whom the Lord instructed to lead the sons of Israel away from the land of Egypt by their companies.	26 Aaron et Moïse sont ceux auxquels le Seigneur commanda de faire sortir de l'Egypte les enfants d'Israël, selon leurs troupes (bandes, note).
27 These are those who speak to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, in order to lead the sons of Israel out of Egypt. These are Moses and Aaron,	27 Ce sont eux qui parlèrent au (à) Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, pour faire sortir de l'Egypte les enfants d'Israël. Ce sont là (ce) Moïse et (cet) Aaron
28 in the day when the Lord spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt.	28 auxquels le Seigneur donna ses ordres dans l' (la terre d') Egypte.
29 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “I am the Lord. Speak to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, all that I speak to you.”	29 Car (Et) le Seigneur parla à Moïse, et il lui dit : Je suis le Seigneur ; dis au (à) Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, tout ce que je t'ordonne de lui dire (moi-même je te dis).
30 And Moses said in the sight of the Lord: “Lo, I am of uncircumcised lips, how will Pharaoh listen to me?”	30 Et Moïse répondit au Seigneur : Vous voyez que je suis incirconcis des lèvres ; comment (le) Pharaon m'écoutera-t-il ?
