2 Samuel 22

1 And David spoke to the Lord the words of this verse, in the day that the Lord freed him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.	1 E DAVIDE proferì al Signore le parole di questo cantico, al giorno che il Signore l’ebbe riscosso dalla mano di tutti i suoi nemici, e dalla mano di Saulle;
2 And he said: “The Lord is my rock, and my strength, and my Savior.	2 e disse: Il Signore è la mia rocca, e la mia fortezza, e il mio liberatore;
3 I will hope in him. God is my strong one, my shield, and the horn of my salvation. He lifts me up, and he is my refreshment. You, O my Savior, will free me from iniquity.	3 Egli è l’Iddio della mia rupe, io spererò in lui; Egli è il mio scudo, e il corno della mia salute; Il mio alto ricetto, il mio rifugio; Il mio Salvatore, che mi salva di violenza.
4 I will call upon the Lord, who is praiseworthy; and I will be saved from my enemies.	4 Io invocai il Signore, al quale appartiene ogni lode, E fui salvato da’ miei nemici.
5 For the pangs of death have encircled me. The torrents of Belial have terrified me.	5 Perciocchè onde di morte mi aveano intorniato, Torrenti di scellerati mi aveano spaventato.
6 The ropes of Hell have encompassed me. The snares of death have intercepted me.	6 Legami di sepolcro, mi aveano circondato, Lacci di morte mi aveano incontrato.
7 In my tribulation, I will call upon the Lord, and I will cry out to my God. And he will heed my voice from his temple, and my outcry will reach his ears.	7 Mentre io era distretto, io invocai il Signore, E gridai all’Iddio mio; Ed egli udì la mia voce dal suo Tempio, E il mio grido pervenne a’ suoi orecchi.
8 The earth was shaken, and it quaked. The foundations of the mountains were struck together and violently shaken, because he was angry with them.	8 Allora la terra fu smossa, e tremò; I fondamenti de’ cieli furono crollati e scossi; Perciocchè egli era acceso nell’ira.
9 Smoke ascends from his nostrils, and fire from his mouth will devour; coals have been kindled by it.	9 Fumo gli saliva per le nari, E fuoco consumante per la bocca; Da lui procedevano brace accese.
10 He bent down the heavens, and it descended; and a fog was beneath his feet.	10 Ed egli abbassò i cieli, e discese, Avendo una caligine sotto a’ suoi piedi.
11 And he climbed upon the cherubim, and he flew; and he slid upon the wings of the wind.	11 E cavalcava sopra Cherubini, e volava, Ed appariva sopra le ale del vento.
12 He set darkness as a hiding place around himself, with waters sifted from the clouds of the heavens.	12 Ed avea poste d’intorno a sè, per tabernacoli, tenebre, Viluppi d’acque, e nubi dell’aria,
13 By means of the brightness of his glance, coals of fire were kindled.	13 Dallo splendore che scoppiava davanti a lui, Procedevano brace accese.
14 The Lord will thunder from heaven; and the Most High will utter his voice.	14 Il Signore tonò dal cielo, E l’Altissimo mandò fuori la sua voce;
15 He shot arrows, and he scattered them; lightning, and he consumed them.	15 Ed avventò saette, e disperse coloro; Folgore, e li mise in rotta.
16 And the overflow of the sea appeared, and the foundations of the globe were revealed, at the rebuke of the Lord, at the exhale of the breath of his fury.	16 E, per lo sgridare del Signore, E per lo soffiar dell’alito delle sue nari, I canali del mare furon veduti, I fondamenti del mondo furono scoperti.
17 He sent from on high, and he took me up. And he drew me out of many waters.	17 Egli da alto distese la mano, Mi prese, mi trasse fuori di grandi acque.
18 He freed me from my most powerful enemy and from those who had hated me. For they were too strong for me.	18 Egli mi riscosse dal mio potente nemico, Da quelli che mi odiavano; perciocchè erano più forti di me.
19 He went before me in the day of my affliction, and the Lord became my firmament.	19 Essi mi erano venuti incontro al giorno della mia calamità; Ma il Signore fu il mio sostegno.
20 And he led me out to a wide-open place. He freed me, because I was pleasing to him.	20 E mi trasse fuori in luogo largo; Egli mi liberò; perciocchè egli mi gradisce.
21 The Lord will reward me according to my justice. And he will repay me according to the cleanness of my hands.	21 Il Signore mi ha fatta la retribuzione secondo la mia giustizia; Egli mi ha renduto secondo la purità delle mie mani.
22 For I have kept to the ways of the Lord, and I have not acted impiously before my God.	22 Perciocchè io ho osservate le vie del Signore, E non mi sono empiamente rivolto dall’Iddio mio.
23 For all his judgments are in my sight. And I have not removed his precepts from me.	23 Perciocchè io ho tenute davanti agli occhi tutte le sue leggi, E non mi son rivolto da’ suoi statuti.
24 And I shall be perfect with him. And I shall guard myself from my own iniquity.	24 E sono stato intiero inverso lui, E mi son guardato dalla mia iniquità.
25 And the Lord will recompense me according to my justice, and according to the cleanness of my hands in the sight of his eyes.	25 E il Signore mi ha fatta la retribuzione secondo la mia giustizia, Secondo la purità che io ho guardata davanti agli occhi suoi.
26 With the holy one, you will be holy, and with the strong one, you will be perfect.	26 Tu ti mostri pietoso inverso il pio, Intiero inverso l’uomo intiero.
27 With the elect one, you will be elect, and with the perverse one, you will be perverse.	27 Puro inverso il puro, E ritroso inverso il perverso;
28 And you will bring to salvation the poor people, and you will humble the exalted with your eyes.	28 E salvi la gente afflitta, E bassi gli occhi in su gli altieri.
29 For you are my lamp, O Lord. And you, O Lord, will illuminate my darkness.	29 Perciocchè tu sei la mia lampana, o Signore; E il Signore allumina le mie tenebre.
30 For in you, I will run girded. In my God, I will leap over the wall.	30 Perciocchè per te io rompo tutta una schiera; Per l’Iddio mio io salgo sopra il muro.
31 God, his way is immaculate; the eloquence of the Lord is an exacting fire. He is the shield of all who hope in him.	31 La via di Dio è intiera; La parola del Signore è purgata col fuoco; Egli è scudo a tutti coloro che sperano in lui.
32 Who is God except the Lord? And who is strong except our God?	32 Perciocchè, chi è Dio, fuor che il Signore? E chi è Rocca, fuor che l’Iddio nostro?
33 God, he has girded me with fortitude, and he has made my way perfect:	33 Iddio è la mia forza; e il mio valore; Ed ha renduta spedita e appianata la mia via.
34 making my feet like the feet of the stag, and stationing me upon my exalted places,	34 Egli rende i miei piedi simili a quelli delle cerve, E mi fa star ritto in su i miei alti luoghi.
35 teaching my hands to do battle, and making my arms like a bow of brass.	35 Egli ammaestra le mie mani alla battaglia, E con le mie braccia un arco di rame è spezzato.
36 You have given me the shield of your salvation. And your mildness has multiplied me.	36 Tu mi hai ancora dato lo scudo della tua salvezza, E la tua benignità mi ha accresciuto.
37 You will enlarge my steps under me, and my ankles will not fail.	37 Tu hai allargati i miei passi sotto me, E le mie calcagna non son vacillate.
38 I will pursue my enemies, and crush them. And I will not turn back, until I consume them.	38 Io ho perseguiti i miei nemici, e li ho sterminati; E non me ne son tornato indietro, finchè non li avessi distrutti.
39 I will consume them and break them apart, so that they cannot rise up; they will fall under my feet.	39 Io li ho distrutti, e li ho trafitti, e non son potuti risorgere; E mi son caduti sotto a’ piedi.
40 You have girded me with strength for the battle. Those who resisted me, you have bent down under me.	40 E tu mi hai cinto di prodezza per la guerra; Tu hai abbassati sotto me quelli che si levavano contro a me.
41 You have caused my enemies to turn their back to me; they have hatred for me, and I shall destroy them.	41 Ed hai fatte voltar le spalle a’ miei nemici, Ed a coloro che mi odiavano, davanti a me; Ed io li ho sterminati.
42 They will cry out, and there will be no one to save; to the Lord, and he will not heed them.	42 Essi riguardavano in qua ed in là, ma non vi fu chi li salvasse; Riguardarono al Signore, ma egli non rispose loro.
43 I will wipe them away like the dust of the earth. I will break them apart and crush them, like the mud of the streets.	43 Ed io li ho stritolati minuto come polvere della terra; Io li ho calpestati, schiacciati, come il fango delle strade.
44 You will save me from the contradictions of my people. You will preserve me to be the head of the Gentiles; a people I do not know shall serve me.	44 Tu mi hai ancora scampato dalle brighe del mio popolo; Tu mi hai guardato per esser capo di genti; Il popolo che io non conosceva, mi è divenuto servo.
45 The sons of foreigners, who will resist me, at the hearing of the ear they will be obedient to me.	45 Gli stranieri si sono infinti inverso me; Al solo udire degli orecchi, si son renduti ubbidienti a me.
46 The foreigners flowed away, but they will be drawn together in their anguishes.	46 Gli stranieri son divenuti fiacchi, Ed hanno tremato di paura fin dentro i lor ricetti chiusi.
47 The Lord lives, and my God is blessed. And the strong God of my salvation shall be exalted.	47 Viva il Signore, e benedetta sia la mia Rocca; E sia esaltato Iddio, ch’è la Rocca della mia salvezza.
48 God gives me vindication, and he casts down the peoples under me.	48 Iddio è quel che mi dà modo di far le mie vendette, E che abbassa i popoli sotto me.
49 He leads me away from my enemies, and he lifts me up from those who resist me. You will free me from the iniquitous man.	49 Ed è quel che mi trae fuori da’ miei nemici; Tu mi levi ad alto d’infra coloro che mi assaltano, E mi riscuoti dagli uomini violenti.
50 Because of this, I will confess to you, O Lord, among the Gentiles, and I will sing to your name:	50 Perciò, o Signore, io ti celebrerò fra le nazioni, E salmeggerò al tuo Nome;
51 magnifying the salvation of his king, and showing mercy to David, his Christ, and to his offspring forever.”	51 Il quale rende magnifiche le vittorie del suo re, Ed usa benignità inverso Davide, suo Unto, E inverso la sua progenie, in sempiterno
