Ezekiel 21

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
2 'Son of man, turn to the right; utter your word towards the south, prophesy against the forest land ofthe Negeb.	2 "Figlio dell'uomo, volgi la faccia verso il mezzogiorno, parla alla regione australe e predici contro la selva del mezzogiorno.
3 Say to the forest of Negeb, "Hear the word of Yahweh! The Lord Yahweh says this: Listen; I am aboutto kindle a fire in you which wil burn up every green tree in you as wel as every dry one; it wil be anunquenchable blaze and every face wil be scorched by it from the Negeb to the north.	3 Dirai alla selva del mezzogiorno: Ascolta la parola del Signore: Dice il Signore Dio: Ecco, io accenderò in te un fuoco che divorerà in te ogni albero verde e ogni albero secco: la fiamma ardente non si spegnerà e ogni sembiante sarà bruciato dal mezzogiorno al settentrione.
4 Al humanity wil see that it was I, Yahweh, who kindled it, and it wil not be extinguished." '	4 Ogni vivente vedrà che io, il Signore, l'ho incendiato e non si spegnerà".
5 I said, 'Lord Yahweh, they say of me, "He does nothing but speak in riddles!"'	5 Io dissi: "Ah! Signore Dio, essi vanno dicendo di me: Non è forse costui uno che racconta delle favole?".
6 Then the word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	6 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
7 'Son of man, turn towards Jerusalem, utter your word towards the sanctuary and prophesy against theland of Israel.	7 "Figlio dell'uomo, volgi la faccia verso Gerusalemme e parla contro i suoi santuari, predici contro il paese d'Israele.
8 Say to the land of Israel, "Yahweh says this: Now I am against you; I am about to unsheathe my swordand rid you of the upright and the wicked alike.	8 Tu riferirai al paese d'Israele: Così dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi contro di te. Sguainerò la spada e ucciderò in te il giusto e il peccatore.
9 Since I am going to rid you of upright and wicked alike, I shal unsheathe my sword against everyonealive, from the Negeb to the north,	9 Se ucciderò in te il giusto e il peccatore, significa che la spada sguainata sarà contro ogni carne, dal mezzogiorno al settentrione.
10 so that everyone alive wil know that I, Yahweh, am the one who has unsheathed my sword; it wil notgo back again."	10 Così ogni vivente saprà che io, il Signore, ho sguainato la spada ed essa non rientrerà nel fodero.
11 'Son of man, groan as though your heart were breaking. Utter your bitter groans where they can seeyou.	11 Tu, figlio dell'uomo, piangi: piangi davanti a loro con il cuore infranto e pieno d'amarezza.
12 And if they say, "Why these groans?" reply, "Because of the news which is about to come, all hearts wil sink, al hands grow weak, all spirits grow faint and al knees turn to water. It is coming now, it is here!-declares Lord Yahweh." '	12 Quando ti domanderanno: Perché piangi?, risponderai: Perché è giunta la notizia che il cuore verrà meno, le mani s'indeboliranno, lo spirito sarà costernato, le ginocchia vacilleranno. Ecco è giunta e si compie". Parola del Signore Dio.
13 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	13 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
14 'Son of man, prophesy. Say, "The Lord says this. Say: The sword, the sword has been sharpenedand polished,	14 "Figlio dell'uomo, profetizza e di' loro: Così dice il Signore Dio: Spada, spada aguzza e affilata,
15 sharpened for slaughter, polished to flash like lightning . . .	15 aguzza per scannare, affilata per lampeggiare!
16 He has had it polished to be wielded, this sword sharpened and polished to put in the slaughterer'shand!	16 L'ha fatta affilare perché la si impugni, l'ha aguzzata e affilata per darla in mano al massacratore!
17 Shout and wail, son of man, for it wil come on my people, on all the chief men of Israel doomed likemy people to the sword! So beat your breast,	17 Grida e lamèntati, o figlio dell'uomo, perché essa pesa sul mio popolo, su tutti i prìncipi d'Israele: essi cadranno di spada insieme con il mio popolo. Perciò battiti il fianco,
18 for this wil be an ordeal . . . declares the Lord Yahweh.	18 perché è una prova: che cosa accadrebbe se nemmeno un bastone sprezzante ci fosse Parola del Signore Dio.
19 So prophesy, son of man, and clap your hands! Let the sword pass three times, that sword forvictims, that sword for a great victim, threatening them from every side!	19 Tu, o figlio dell'uomo, predici e batti le mani: la spada si raddoppi e si triplichi, è la spada dei massacri, la grande spada del massacro che li circonda.
20 To make hearts sink and make sure many fall, I have posted the slaughtering sword at every gate toflash like lightning, polished for slaughter.	20 Perché i cuori si struggano e si moltiplichino le vittime, ho messo ad ogni porta la punta della spada, fatta per lampeggiare, affilata per il massacro.
21 Be sharp, on the right, be ready on the left, whichever way your blade is needed!	21 Volgiti a destra, volgiti a sinistra, ovunque si diriga la tua lama.
22 I too shal clap my hands and sate my fury! I, Yahweh, have spoken." '	22 Anch'io batterò le mani e sazierò la mia ira. Io, il Signore, ho parlato".
23 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	23 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
24 'Son of man, mark out two roads for the sword of the king of Babylon to come along, making both ofthem begin from the same country. Then put up a signpost, put it where the road leaves for the city,	24 "Figlio dell'uomo, traccia due strade per il passaggio della spada del re di Babilonia; proverranno tutte e due dallo stesso paese; tu metti un segnale a capo della strada che conduce nella città.
25 trace the route which the sword should take for Rabbah-of-the-Ammonites, and for Judah, to thefortress of Jerusalem.	25 Traccia la strada per cui la spada giunga a Rabbà degli Ammoniti e in Giuda, a Gerusalemme nella città fortificata.
26 For the king of Babylon has halted at the fork where these two roads diverge, to take the omens. Hehas shaken the arrows, questioned the household gods, inspected the liver.	26 Infatti il re di Babilonia è fermo al bivio, all'inizio delle due strade, per interrogare le sorti: agita le frecce, interroga gli dèi domestici, osserva il fegato.
27 The lot marked 'Jerusalem' is in his right hand: there to set up battering-rams, give the word forslaughter, raise the war cry, level battering-rams against the gates, cast up earthworks, build entrenchments.	27 Nella sua destra è uscito il responso: Gerusalemme, per porre contro di essa gli arieti, per farle udire l'ordine del massacro, echeggiare grida di guerra, disporre gli arieti contro le sue porte, innalzare terrapieni, costruire trincee.
28 The inhabitants wil believe that these omens are idle, for they have received sworn guarantees, buthe wil bring their guilt to mind and capture them.	28 Ma questo non è che un vano presagio agli occhi di quelli che hanno fatto loro solenni giuramenti. Egli però ricorda loro l'iniquità per cui saranno catturati".
29 And so the Lord Yahweh says this, "Since you have brought your guilt to mind by parading yourmisdeeds and flaunting your sins in everything you do: because you have drawn attention to yourselves, you willbe captured.	29 Perciò dice il Signore: "Poiché voi avete fatto ricordare le vostre iniquità, rendendo manifeste le vostre trasgressioni e palesi i vostri peccati in tutto il vostro modo di agire, poiché ve ne vantate, voi resterete presi al laccio.
30 As for you, impious and wicked prince of Israel, whose doom is approaching to put an end to yourcrimes,	30 A te, sconsacrato, empio principe d'Israele, di cui è giunto il giorno con il tempo della tua iniquità finale,
31 the Lord Yahweh says this: They will take away your diadem and remove your crown. Everything wilbe changed; the low wil be raised and the high brought low!	31 così dice il Signore Dio: Deponi il turbante e togliti la corona: tutto sarà cambiato: ciò che è basso sarà elevato e ciò che è alto sarà abbassato.
32 Ruin, ruin, I shal bring such ruin as never was before, until the rightful ruler comes, on whom I shalbestow it."	32 In rovina, in rovina, in rovina la ridurrò e non si rialzerà più finché non giunga colui al quale appartiene di diritto e al quale io la darò".
33 'Son of man, prophesy and say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: In reply to the Ammonites and theirjeers, say: The sword, the sword is drawn for slaughter, polished to devour, to flash like lightning-	33 Tu, figlio dell'uomo, profetizza e annunzia: "Così dice il Signore Dio agli Ammoniti e riguardo ai loro insulti. Di' dunque: La spada, la spada è sguainata per la strage, è affilata per sterminare, per lampeggiare,
34 while you have empty visions and consult lying omens-to cut the throats of the wicked, whose doomis approaching to put an end to their crimes.	34 mentre tu hai false visioni e ti si predicono sorti bugiarde, la spada sarà messa alla gola degli empi perversi, il cui giorno è venuto, al colmo della loro malvagità.
35 Put it back in the scabbard. The place where you were created, the land of your origin, wil be where Ijudge you.	35 Rimettila nel fodero. Nel luogo stesso in cui tu fosti creato, nella terra stessa in cui sei nato, io ti giudicherò;
36 I shal vent my fury on you, breathe the fire of my rage against you and hand you over to barbarousmen whose trade is destruction.	36 rovescerò su di te il mio sdegno, contro di te soffierò nel fuoco della mia ira e ti abbandonerò in mano di uomini violenti, portatori di distruzione.
37 You wil be fuel for the fire, your blood wil flow through the country, you wil leave no memory behindyou; for I, Yahweh, have spoken!" '	37 Sarai preda del fuoco, del tuo sangue sarà intrisa la terra, non ti si ricorderà più perché io, il Signore, ho parlato".
