Jeremiah 8

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 'When that time comes, Yahweh declares, the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of its chief men,the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, wil be takenfrom their tombs.	1 In quel tempo, oracolo del Signore, si estrarranno dai loro sepolcri le ossa di tutti i re di Giuda e le ossa dei suoi prìncipi, le ossa dei sacerdoti e le ossa dei profeti e le ossa degli abitanti di Gerusalemme,
2 They wil be spread out before the sun, the moon, the whole array of heaven, whom they have loved andserved, fol owed, consulted and worshipped. They wil not be gathered or reburied but will be left lying on thesurface like dung.	2 e saranno esposte al sole e alla luna e a tutto l'esercito celeste che hanno prediletto e che hanno servito, ai quali sono andati dietro e che hanno consultato e ai quali si sono prostrati; non saranno raccolte né saranno seppellite, ma saranno come letame sulla superficie della terra.
3 And death will seem preferable to life to al the survivors of this wicked race, wherever I have driventhem, Yahweh Sabaoth declares.	3 Allora sarà preferibile la morte alla vita per tutto il resto che sopravvivrà di questa malvagia famiglia in ogni luogo dove li avrò dispersi, oracolo del Signore degli eserciti.
4 'You are to tel them, "Yahweh says this: If someone fal s, can he not stand up again? If people stray,can they not turn back?	4 Dunque dirai loro: "Così dice il Signore: Chi cade, forse che non si rialza? O chi si svia, forse non ritorna?
5 Why does this people persist in acts of infidelity, why does Jerusalem persist in continuous infidelity?They cling to il usion, they refuse to turn back.	5 Perché s'è sviato questo popolo, Gerusalemme, con una ribellione perpetua? Sono attaccati all'inganno, rifiutano di ritrarsi indietro.
6 I have listened attentively: they have never said anything like that. Not one repents of wickednesssaying: What have I done? Each one keeps returning to the course like a horse charging into battle.	6 Ho prestato attenzione e ho ascoltato: non parlano rettamente; nessuno si pente della sua malvagità, dicendo: "Cosa abbiamo fatto?". Ognuno torna alla propria corsa, qual cavallo lanciato alla battaglia!
7 Even the stork in the sky knows the appropriate season; turtledove, swal ow and crane observe theirtime of migration. But my people do not know Yahweh's laws!" '	7 Perfino la cicogna nel cielo conosce i tempi suoi, e la colomba, la rondine e la gru osservano il tempo del loro ritorno; ma il popolo mio non conosce il giudizio del Signore!
8 How can you say, 'We are wise, since we have Yahweh's Law?' Look how it has been falsified by thelying pen of the scribes!	8 Come potete dire: "Noi siamo saggi e la legge del Signore è con noi"? Certo, ecco: a menzogna l'ha ridotta la penna menzognera degli scribi.
9 The wise are put to shame, alarmed, caught out because they have rejected Yahweh's word. What pricetheir wisdom now?	9 Saranno svergognati i saggi, sconcertati e intrappolati. Ecco: la parola del Signore han rigettato: che cosa è, dunque, sapienza per loro?
10 So I shal give their wives to other men, their fields to new masters, for, from the least to greatest, theyare al greedy for gain; prophet no less than priest, al of them practise fraud.	10 Per questo consegnerò le loro donne a stranieri, i loro campi ai conquistatori, perché dal piccolo al grande tutti essi compiono frode; dal profeta al sacerdote, tutti essi praticano la menzogna.
11 Without concern they dress the wound of the daughter of my people, saying, 'Peace! Peace!' whereasthere is no peace.	11 Essi curano la ferita del mio popolo alla leggera. Dicono: "Salute, salute", ma salute non c'è.
12 They should be ashamed of their loathsome deeds. Not they! They feel no shame, they do not evenknow how to blush. And so as others fall, they too wil fal , will be thrown down when the time for punishing themcomes, Yahweh says.	12 Arrossiscano, perché compiono abominazioni! Di nessuna onta arrossiscono più né sanno più vergognarsi! Per questo cadranno tra coloro che cadono, saranno prostrati quando io li visiterò. Oracolo del Signore.
13 I shal put an end to them, Yahweh declares, no more grapes on the vine, no more figs on the fig treeonly withered leaves: I have found them people to trample on them!	13 Vorrei raccogliere il loro raccolto, oracolo del Signore, ma non c'è uva nella vigna e non ci sono fichi sulla ficaia; anche il fogliame è avvizzito! Ho procurato loro, quindi, chi li calpesti!".
14 Why are we sitting still? Mobilise! Take to the fortified towns and there fall silent, since Yahweh ourGod means to silence us by giving us poisoned water to drink because we have sinned against him.	14 "Perché ce ne stiamo seduti? Radunatevi ed entriamo nelle città fortificate e ivi saremo distrutti: tanto il Signore, Dio nostro, ci vuole distruggere e farci bere acque avvelenate perché abbiamo peccato contro il Signore!
15 We are hoping for peace -- no good came of it! For the time of healing -- nothing but terror!	15 Aspettavamo la salvezza, ma senza profitto; il tempo della guarigione ed ecco il terrore".
16 From Dan you can hear the snorting of his horses; at the neighing of his stal ions the whole countryquakes; they are coming to devour the country and its contents, the town and those that live in it.	16 Da Dan si ode lo sbuffare dei suoi cavalli; per lo strepito dei nitriti dei suoi stalloni trema tutto il paese; arrivano e divorano il paese e quanto contiene, la città e i suoi abitanti.
17 Yes, now I am sending you poisonous snakes against which no charm exists; and they wil bite you,Yahweh declares.	17 "Sì, eccomi a mandare contro di voi serpenti velenosi contro i quali non avete incantesimo, cosicché vi morderanno". Oracolo del Signore.
18 Incurable sorrow overtakes me, my heart fails me.	18 Senza rimedio cresce il dolore, dentro di me il mio cuore languisce.
19 Hark, from the daughter of my people the cry for help, ringing far and wide throughout the land! 'IsYahweh no longer in Zion, her King no longer there?' (Why have they provoked me with their idols, with theirfutile foreign gods?)	19 Ecco un clamore: è il grido della figlia del mio popolo da terra di vasta estensione! "Forse che il Signore non sta in Sion, ovvero il suo re non è in essa?". Perché mi hanno irritato con i loro idoli con nullità straniere?
20 'Harvest is over, summer at an end, and we have not been saved!'	20 E' passata la mietitura, terminata l'estate, e noi non siamo stati salvati.
21 The wound of the daughter of my people wounds me too, all looks dark to me, terror grips me.	21 Per la ferita della figlia del mio popolo sono ferito, sono costernato, lo spavento mi afferra.
22 Is there no balm in Gilead any more? Is no doctor there? Then why is there no progress in the cure ofthe daughter of my people?	22 Non c'è più balsamo in Gàlaad? non c'è più ivi alcun medico? Perché, allora, non migliora la ferita della figlia del mio popolo?
23 Who wil turn my head into a fountain, and my eyes into a spring of tears, that I can weep day and nightover the slain of the daughter of my people?	23 Chi renderà la mia testa una fonte e i miei occhi una sorgente di lacrime, perché io pianga giorno e notte gli uccisi della figlia del popolo mio?
