NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne and he reigned for twenty-nine yearsin Jerusalem. His mother's name was Abijah daughter of Zechariah.	1 - Ezechia cominciò dunque a regnare a venticinque anni e regnò ventinove anni in Gerusalemme. Ebbe per madre Abia figlia di Zaccaria,
2 He did what Yahweh regards as right, just as his ancestor David had done.	2 e fece quanto era accetto al cospetto del Signore, imitando in tutto le opere di Davide suo padre.
3 In the first month of the first year of his reign, he opened the doors of the Temple of Yahweh, havingrepaired them.	3 Nel primo mese del primo anno del suo regno aprì le porte del tempio e le restaurò.
4 He then brought in the priests and the Levites, assembled them in the eastern square,	4 Fece venire i sacerdoti e i leviti e riunitili nella piazza orientale,
5 and said to them, 'Listen to me, Levites! First sanctify yourselves, then sanctify the Temple ofYahweh, God of your ancestors, and remove the filth from the sanctuary.	5 disse loro: «Ascoltatemi, o leviti, e santificatevi. Mondate la casa del Signore Dio de' padri vostri e levate ogni contaminazione dal santuario.
6 Our ancestors were unfaithful, and did what is displeasing to Yahweh our God. They abandoned him,turned their faces away from Yahweh's home and turned their backs on him.	6 I nostri padri hanno peccato e hanno operato il male al cospetto del Signore Dio nostro, abbandonandolo; distolsero il loro sguardo dal tabernacolo del Signore e gli han voltato le spalle.
7 They even closed the doors of the portico, put out the lamps and stopped burning incense and makingburnt offerings in the sanctuary of the God of Israel.	7 Chiusero le porte, che davano sotto il portico, estinsero le lampade, non bruciarono incensi, nè offrirono olocausti nel santuario al Dio di Israele;
8 This was why Yahweh's anger fel on Judah and Jerusalem and he made them an object of terror,astonishment and derision, as you can see for yourselves.	8 perciò sopra Giuda e Gerusalemme si riversò il furore del Signore, il quale li abbandonò alla rovina e alla morte e agli obbrobrii come voi stessi potete vedere cogli occhi vostri.
9 Yes, our ancestors were put to the sword, and our sons, our daughters and our wives were takencaptive because of this.	9 Ecco i padri nostri caddero sotto la spada; i figli nostri e le nostre figlie e le mogli furono, a cagione di queste iniquità, condotte prigioniere.
10 I am now determined to make a covenant with Yahweh, God of Israel, so that his fierce anger mayturn away from us.	10 Io voglio adunque che facciamo un patto col Signore Dio d'Israele, perchè allontani da noi il furore della sua collera.
11 Now, my sons, do not be remiss, for Yahweh has chosen you to stand in his presence and serve himby conducting his worship and offering him incense.'	11 Figliuoli miei, non trascurate nulla; il Signore vi ha eletto a stare dinanzi a lui per servirlo, e onorarlo e per bruciare a lui incensi».
12 The Levites set about it -- Mahath son of Amasai and Joel son of Azariah, from the Kohathites; Kishson of Abdi and Azariah son of Jehal el, from the Merarites; Joah son of Zimmah and Eden son of Joah, from theGershonites;	12 Sorsero allora i leviti, Maat, figlio di Amasai, Joel, figlio di Azaria della stirpe di Caat; Cis, figlio di Abdi e Azaria, figlio di Jalaleel della stirpe di Merari; e della stirpe di Gersom: Joa, figlio di Zemma ed Eden figlio di Joa.
13 Shimri and Jeuel, of the sons of Elizaphan; Zechariah and Mattaniah of the sons of Asaph;	13 Inoltre Samri e Jaiel dei discendenti di Elisafan; Zaccaria e Matania dei discendenti di Asaf;
14 Jehiel and Shimei of the sons of Heman; Shemaiah and Uzziel of the sons of Jeduthun-	14 Jaiel e Semai dei discendenti di Eman; Semeia e Oziel dei discendenti di Iditun.
15 and gathered their brothers together; they sanctified themselves, and in obedience to the king'sorder, in accordance with the words of Yahweh, they came to purify the Temple of Yahweh.	15 Essi riunirono i loro fratelli, si santificarono e conforme al comando del re e al volere del Signore entrarono nella casa del Signore per purificarla.
16 The priests went into the inner part of the Temple of Yahweh to purify it. They brought al the uncleanthings which they found in Yahweh's sanctuary, out into the court of the Temple of Yahweh, where the Levitescol ected them and took them out to the Kidron Val ey.	16 Anche i sacerdoti, entrati nel tempio del Signore per santificarlo, ne asportarono tutte le immondezze, che avevano trovato nel vestibolo della casa del Signore; i leviti infatti le tolsero e le trasportarono fuori nel torrente Cedron.
17 They began sanctifying on the first day of the first month, and by the eighth day of the month hadreached Yahweh's portico; thus they took eight days to sanctify the Temple of Yahweh, and by the sixteenth dayof the first month everything was finished.	17 Avevano cominciato questa purificazione nel primo giorno del primo mese e l'ottavo giorno dello stesso mese entrarono nel portico del tempio del Signore e per otto giorni purificarono il tempio, cosicchè nel sedicesimo giorno dello stesso mese posero fine al lavoro.
18 They then waited on King Hezekiah and said, 'We have purified the whole Temple of Yahweh, thealtar of burnt offering with al its equipment and the table for the loaves of permanent offering with al theirequipment.	18 Andarono allora dal re Ezechia, e gli dissero: «Abbiamo santificato tutta la casa del Signore, l'altare degli olocausti, i suoi vasi, la mensa della proposizione con tutti i suoi utensili,
19 We have also got ready and sanctified al the equipment which King Ahaz in his infidelity hadremoved during his reign. It is al ready in front of Yahweh's altar.'	19 e tutta la suppellettile del tempio, che era stata profanata dal re Acaz, durante il suo regno, dopo ch'ebbe prevaricato. Ed ecco ormai tutte le cose disposte dinanzi all'altare del Signore».
20 King Hezekiah lost no time but cal ed the officials of the city together and went up to the Temple ofYahweh.	20 Levatosi allora il re Ezechia di buon mattino e riuniti tutti i principi della città, salì alla casa del Signore,
21 They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs and seven goats as a sin sacrifice for the royalhouse, for the sanctuary and for Judah, and he ordered the Aaronite priests to offer them on Yahweh's altar.	21 e tutti insieme offrirono sette tori, sette arieti, sette agnelli e sette capri per il peccato, per il regno, pel santuario e per Giuda, e disse ai sacerdoti figli di Aronne di fare l'offerta sull'altare del Signore.
22 So they slaughtered the bul s and the priests took the blood and sprinkled it over the altar. They thenslaughtered the rams and sprinkled the blood over the altar; and they slaughtered the lambs and sprinkled theblood over the altar.	22 I sacerdoti adunque immolarono i tori, e preso del sangue lo effusero sull'altare; parimenti immolarono gli arieti ed effusero il loro sangue sull'altare; immolarono inoltre gli agnelli e anche il loro sangue venne effuso sull'altare.
23 Then they brought the goats, the sacrifice for sin, before the king and the assembly who laid theirhands on them.	23 Fatti venire poi i capri espiatori dinanzi al re e a tutta la moltitudine, imposero le loro mani sopra di essi,
24 The priests slaughtered them and made a sacrifice for sin with their blood at the altar to expiate foral Israel, since the king had ordered the burnt offering and the sacrifice for sin on behalf of al Israel.	24 e dopo averli immolati, i sacerdoti ne aspersero il sangue dinanzi all'altare in espiazione dei peccati di tutto Israele, poichè per tutto Israele il re aveva voluto che fosse fatto l'olocausto e il sacrificio di espiazione.
25 He positioned the Levites in the Temple of Yahweh with cymbals, lyres and harps, in accordancewith the ordinance of David, of Gad the king's seer and of Nathan the prophet, for such was Yahweh's orderconveyed through his prophets.	25 Stabilì ancora nella casa del Signore dei leviti con cembali, salteri, e cetre secondo le disposizioni del re Davide, del veggente Gad, e del profeta Natan; perchè così il Signore aveva comandato per mezzo de' suoi profeti.
26 When the Levites stood with David's musical instruments, and the priests with the trumpets,	26 I leviti pertanto presero il loro posto cogli strumenti di Davide e i sacerdoti colle loro trombe;
27 Hezekiah ordered the burnt offering to be presented on the altar. And as the burnt offering began,the hymns of Yahweh began too, and the trumpets sounded, to the accompaniment of the instruments of Davidking of Israel,	27 Ezechia comandò che si offrissero olocausti sopra l'altare, e mentre si offrivano tali olocausti si cominciò a lodare il Signore, a sonare con trombe e con i vari strumenti fatti preparare da Davide, re d'Israele.
28 while the whole congregation worshipped, the singers singing and the trumpeters sounding thetrumpets, continuously until the burnt offering was over.	28 Mentre la turba se ne stava in adorazione, i cantori e quei che avevano le trombe attendevano al loro ufficio, sino alla fine dell'olocausto.
29 When the burnt offering was finished, the king and al those present with him fell to their knees andworshipped.	29 Terminata che fu l'offerta, il re e tutti quelli che stavano con lui si prostrarono e adorarono,
30 Then King Hezekiah and the officials told the Levites to sing praise to Yahweh in the words of Davidand Asaph the seer; and joyfully they sang their praises, then knelt in worship.	30 ed Ezechia ed i principi ordinarono ai leviti, di lodare il Signore colle parole stesse di Davide e del veggente Asaf; ed essi lo lodarono con trasporti di gioia, e messisi ginocchioni lo adorarono.
31 Hezekiah spoke again, 'Now that you have consecrated yourselves to Yahweh, come forward andbring thanksgiving sacrifices to the Temple of Yahweh.' Then the congregation brought thanksgiving sacrificesand those who were generous brought burnt offerings.	31 Ezechia poi aggiunse anche queste parole: «Voi avete riempite le vostre mani con regali per il Signore; accostatevi e offrite vittime e lodi nella casa del Signore»; e tutta la moltitudine offrì vittime e lodi e olocausti con cuore divoto.
32 The number of burnt offerings brought by the congregation was seventy bul s, a hundred rams andtwo hundred lambs, al as burnt offerings for Yahweh.	32 Ora il numero degli olocausti offerti dalla moltitudine fu questo: Settanta tori, cento arieti, duecento agnelli;
33 The consecrated gifts amounted to six hundred bul s and three thousand sheep.	33 e al Signore furono consacrati seicento buoi e tremila pecore.
34 The priests were too few, however, and were unable to dismember al the burnt offerings, so theirbrothers, the Levites, helped them until the work was finished and the priests had sanctified themselves; for theLevites had been more conscientious about sanctifying themselves than the priests had.	34 I sacerdoti però erano pochi, nè potevano levare le pelli dagli olocausti, perciò anche i leviti, loro fratelli, vennero in loro aiuto fino a che non fu compiuta l'azione e non furono santificati i sacerdoti; poichè i leviti erano santificati con un rito più semplice che non i sacerdoti.
35 In addition to the abundance of burnt offerings, there were also the fatty pieces for communionsacrifices and the libations for the burnt offerings. And so the liturgy of Yahweh's Temple was restored,	35 Gli olocausti furono adunque moltissimi, come pure i grassi delle ostie pacifiche e le libazioni degli olocausti. Così fu compìto il culto della casa del Signore;
36 and Hezekiah and al the people rejoiced over what God had provided for the people, sinceeverything had happened so suddenly.	36 ed Ezechia e tutto il popolo furono contenti di aver ristabilito il culto del Signore e di aver fatto ciò con tanta prestezza.
