NEW AMERICAN BIBLEDOUAI-RHEIMS
Then I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven wrapped in a cloud, with a halo around his head; his face was like the sun and his feet were like pillars of fire.1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud, and a rainbow was on his head, and his face was as the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire.
In his hand he held a small scroll that had been opened. He placed his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot upon the earth.
and then he cried out in a loud voice as a lion roars. When he cried out, the seven thunders raised their voices, too.3 And he cried with a loud voice as when a lion roareth. And when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
When the seven thunders had spoken, I was about to write it down; but I heard a voice from heaven say, "Seal up what the seven thunders have spoken, but do not write it down."4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying to me: Seal up the things which the seven thunders have spoken; and write them not.
Then the angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven5 And the angel, whom I saw standing upon the sea and upon the earth, lifted up his hand to heaven,
and swore by the one who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and earth and sea and all that is in them, "There shall be no more delay.6 And he swore by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things which are therein; and the earth, and the things which are in it; and the sea, and the things which are therein: That time shall be no longer.
At the time when you hear the seventh angel blow his trumpet, the mysterious plan of God shall be fulfilled, as he promised to his servants the prophets."7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound the trumpet, the mystery of God shall be finished, as he hath declared by his servants the prophets.
Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, "Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land."8 And I heard a voice from heaven again speaking to me, and saying: Go, and take the book that is open, from the hand of the angel who standeth upon the sea, and upon the earth.
So I went up to the angel and told him to give me the small scroll. He said to me, "Take and swallow it. It will turn your stomach sour, but in your mouth it will taste as sweet as honey."9 And I went to the angel, saying unto him, that he should give me the book. And he said to me: Take the book, and eat it up: and it shall make thy belly bitter, but in thy mouth it shall be sweet as honey.
I took the small scroll from the angel's hand and swallowed it. In my mouth it was like sweet honey, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour.10 And I took the book from the hand of the angel, and ate it up: and it was in my mouth, sweet as honey: and when I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
Then someone said to me, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings."11 And he said to me: Thou must prophesy again to many nations, and peoples, and tongues, and kings.
