Deuteronomy 26

1 "When you have come into the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you as a heritage, and have occupied it and settled in it,	1 E quando sarai entrato nella terra di cui il Signore io tuo sta per darti il possesso, quando l'avrai conquistata e vi abiterai,
2 you shall take some first fruits of the various products of the soil which you harvest from the land which the LORD, your God, gives you, and putting them in a basket, you shall go to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses for the dwelling place of his name.	2 prenderai le primizie di tutti i tuoi frutti, e, messele in un paniere, andrai al luogo dal Signore Dio tuo eletto, perchè vi sia invocato il suo nome,
3 There you shall go to the priest in office at that time and say to him, 'Today I acknowledge to the LORD, my God, that I have indeed come into the land which he swore to our fathers he would give us.'	3 e, presentandoti al sacerdote che vi sarà allora, gli dirai: Confesso davanti al Signore Dio tuo d'essere entrato nella terra ch'egli giurò ai nostri padri di darci.
4 The priest shall then receive the basket from you and shall set it in front of the altar of the LORD, your God.	4 E il sacerdote, preso dalla tua mano il paniere, lo porrà davanti all'altare del Signore Dio tuo.
5 Then you shall declare before the LORD, your God, 'My father was a wandering Aramean who went down to Egypt with a small household and lived there as an alien. But there he became a nation great, strong and numerous.	5 E tu dirai al cospetto del Signore Dio tuo: Il Siro perseguitava mio padre, il quale disceso in Egitto con pochissimi dei suoi, vi dimorò come forestiero e vi divenne una nazione grande e forte e infinita di numero.
6 When the Egyptians maltreated and oppressed us, imposing hard labor upon us,	6 Ma gli Egiziani ci afflissero e ci perseguitarono, imponendoci servizi gravissimi;
7 we cried to the LORD, the God of our fathers, and he heard our cry and saw our affliction, our toil and our oppression.	7 e noi gridammo al Signore Dio dei padri nostri, il quale ci esaudì, e vista la nostra umiliazione, gli affanni e le angustie,
8 He brought us out of Egypt with his strong hand and outstretched arm, with terrifying power, with signs and wonders;	8 ci trasse dall'Egitto con mano forte e braccio steso, con grande spavento, con segni e portenti,
9 and bringing us into this country, he gave us this land flowing with milk and honey.	9 e c'introdusse in questo luogo, e ci diede una terra che stilla latte e miele.
10 Therefore, I have now brought you the first fruits of the products of the soil which you, O LORD, have given me.' And having set them before the LORD, your God, you shall bow down in his presence.	10 Per questo io offro le primizie dei frutti della terra che il Signore mi ha data. E le deporrai davanti al Signore Dio tuo, e dopo di avere adorato il Signore Dio tuo,
11 Then you and your family, together with the Levite and the aliens who live among you, shall make merry over all these good things which the LORD, your God, has given you.	11 di tutti i beni che il Signore Dio tuo avrà dato a te e alla tua casa, farai un banchetto tu col levita e col forestiero che è con te.
12 "When you have finished setting aside all the tithes of your produce in the third year, the year of the tithes, and you have given them to the Levite, the alien, the orphan and the widow, that they may eat their fill in your own community,	12 Quando avrai compita la decima di tutti i tuoi frutti, nel terzo anno delle decime la darai al levita, al forestiero, all'orfano, alla vedova, perchè ne mangino dentro le tue porte e ne sian satollati.
13 you shall declare before the LORD, your God, 'I have purged my house of the sacred portion and I have given it to the Levite, the alien, the orphan and the widow, just as you have commanded me. In this I have not broken or forgotten any of your commandments:	13 Poi tu dirai nel cospetto del Signore Dio tuo: Ho tolto di casa mia ciò che era consacrato, e l'ho dato al levita e al forestiero, all'orfano e alla vedova, come tu mi hai ordinato, non ho trascurato i tuoi comandamenti, nè ho dimonticato i tuoi precetti.
14 I have not eaten any of the tithe as a mourner; I have not brought any of it out as one unclean; I have not offered any of it to the dead. I have thus hearkened to the voice of the LORD, my God, doing just as you have commanded me.	14 Non ho mangiato di queste cose nel mio lutto, nè le ho riserbate per alcun uso immondo, non ne ho adoperato nulla per i funerali. Ho obbedito alla voce del Signore Dio mio ed ho fatto ogni cosa secondo i tuoi ordini.
15 Look down, then, from heaven, your holy abode, and bless your people Israel and the soil you have given us in the land flowing with milk and honey which you promised on oath to our fathers.'	15 Volgi il tuo sguardo dal tuo santuario e dalla tua eccelsa dimora dei cieli, benedici il tuo popolo d'Israele e la terra che tu ci hai data, come giurasti ai padri nostri, terra che stilla latte e miele.
16 "This day the LORD, your God, commands you to observe these statutes and decrees. Be careful, then, to observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.	16 Oggi il Signore Dio tuo t'ingiunge di osservare questi comandamenti e queste ordinazioni, di custodire e di metterle in pratica con tutto il tuo cuore e con tutta la tua anima.
17 Today you are making this agreement with the LORD: he is to be your God and you are to walk in his ways and observe his statutes, commandments and decrees, and to hearken to his voice.	17 Oggi tu hai eletto il Signore, perchè egli sia il tuo Dio, hai eletto di camminare nelle sue vie, di osservare le sue cerimonie, i suoi comandamenti e le sue ordinazioni, di obbedire al suo comando.
18 And today the LORD is making this agreement with you: you are to be a people peculiarly his own, as he promised you; and provided you keep all his commandments,	18 E il Signore oggi ha eletto te, affinchè tu gli sia un popolo tutto suo, come egli ha detto, e osservi tutti i suoi comandamenti;
19 he will then raise you high in praise and renown and glory above all other nations he has made, and you will be a people sacred to the LORD, your God, as he promised."	19 ond'egli ti renda eccelso sopra tutte le nazioni che ha create, a lode, rinomanza e gloria sua, e fucsia il popolo santo del Signore Dio tuo, come egli ha detto.
