1 While he was going through a field of grain on a sabbath, his disciples were picking the heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands, and eating them.	1 Als er am [zweitersten] Sabbat durch die Saatfelder ging, geschah es, daß seine Jünger Ähren abrupften und aßen, wobei sie diese mit den Händen zerrieben.
2 Some Pharisees said, "Why are you doing what is unlawful on the sabbath?"	2 Da sprachen einige von den Pharisäern: "Warum tut ihr, was am Sabbat nicht erlaubt ist?"
3 Jesus said to them in reply, "Have you not read what David did when he and those (who were) with him were hungry?	3 Jesus erwiderte ihnen: "Habt ihr denn nicht gelesen, was David tat, als ihn und seine Begleiter hungerte?
4 (How) he went into the house of God, took the bread of offering, which only the priests could lawfully eat, ate of it, and shared it with his companions."	4 Wie er in das Haus Gottes hineinging, die Schaubrote nahm und aß und auch seinen Begleitern gab, obwohl sie doch niemand essen darf als nur die Priester?" (1Sam 21,2-7).
5 Then he said to them, "The Son of Man is lord of the sabbath."	5 Und er sprach zu ihnen: "Herr ist der Menschensohn auch über den Sabbat!"
6 On another sabbath he went into the synagogue and taught, and there was a man there whose right hand was withered.	6 Es begab sich, daß er an einem anderen Sabbat in die Synagoge ging und lehrte. Es war dort ein Mann, dessen rechte Hand war gelähmt.
7 The scribes and the Pharisees watched him closely to see if he would cure on the sabbath so that they might discover a reason to accuse him.	7 Die Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer gaben acht auf ihn, ob er am Sabbat heilen würde, damit sie etwas fänden, ihn anzuklagen.
8 But he realized their intentions and said to the man with the withered hand, "Come up and stand before us." And he rose and stood there.	8 Er aber wußte ihre Gedanken und sprach zu dem Mann mit der gelähmten Hand: "Steh auf und stelle dich in die Mitte!" Und er stand auf und stellte sich hin.
9 Then Jesus said to them, "I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?"	9 Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Ich frage euch: Ist es erlaubt, am Sabbat Gutes zu tun oder Böses? Ein Leben zu retten oder zugrunde gehen zu lassen?"
10 Looking around at them all, he then said to him, "Stretch out your hand." He did so and his hand was restored.	10 Und er blickte sie alle ringsum an und sprach dann zu ihm: "Strecke deine Hand aus!" Er tat es, und seine Hand wurde wiederhergestellt.
11 But they became enraged and discussed together what they might do to Jesus.	11 Sie aber wurden von blinder Wut erfüllt und beredeten miteinander, was sie tun könnten gegen Jesus.
12 In those days he departed to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God.	12 In diesen Tagen war es, daß er hinwegging auf den Berg, um zu beten, und er verbrachte die Nacht im Gebete zu Gott.
13 When day came, he called his disciples to himself, and from them he chose Twelve, whom he also named apostles:	13 Als es Tag wurde, rief er seine Jünger zu sich und wählte aus ihnen zwölf, die er auch Apostel nannte:
14 Simon, whom he named Peter, and his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,	14 Simon, den er auch Petrus nannte, und seinen Bruder Andreas, Jakobus und Johannes, Philippus und Bartholomäus,
15 Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called a Zealot,	15 Matthäus und Thomas, Jakobus, den Sohn des Alphäus, und Simon, mit dem Beinamen der Eiferer,
16 and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.	16 Judas, den Bruder des Jakobus, und Judas Iskarioth, der zum Verräter wurde.
17 And he came down with them and stood on a stretch of level ground. A great crowd of his disciples and a large number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon	17 Er stieg herab mit ihnen und blieb an einem ebenen Platze stehen, zusammen mit einer großen Schar seiner Jünger und einer großen Menge Volkes aus ganz Judäa und Jerusalem und aus dem Küstengebiet von Tyrus und Sidon,
18 came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases; and even those who were tormented by unclean spirits were cured.	18 die gekommen waren, um ihn zu hören und sich heilen zu lassen von ihren Krankheiten; auch die von unreinen Geistern Geplagten wurden geheilt.
19 Everyone in the crowd sought to touch him because power came forth from him and healed them all.	19 Alles Volk suchte ihn anzurühren; denn es ging eine Kraft von ihm aus und heilte alle.
20 And raising his eyes toward his disciples he said: "Blessed are you who are poor, for the kingdom of God is yours.	20 Er richtete seine Augen auf seine Jünger und sprach: "Selig ihr Armen, denn euer ist das Reich Gottes.
21 Blessed are you who are now hungry, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who are now weeping, for you will laugh.	21 Selig ihr, die ihr jetzt hungert, denn ihr werdet gesättigt werden. Selig ihr, die ihr jetzt weint, denn ihr werdet lachen.
22 Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude and insult you, and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man.	22 Selig seid ihr, wenn euch die Menschen hassen und wenn sie euch ausstoßen, euch schmähen und euren Namen als etwas Böses verwerfen um des Menschensohnes willen.
23 Rejoice and leap for joy on that day! Behold, your reward will be great in heaven. For their ancestors treated the prophets in the same way.	23 Freut euch an jenem Tag und jubelt, denn seht, euer Lohn ist groß im Himmel; geradeso taten ihre Väter den Propheten.
24 But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation.	24 Doch wehe euch, ihr Reichen, denn ihr habt schon euren Trost.
25 But woe to you who are filled now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will grieve and weep.	25 Wehe euch, die ihr jetzt gesättigt seid, denn ihr werdet hungern. Wehe euch, die ihr jetzt lacht, denn ihr werdet klagen und weinen.
26 Woe to you when all speak well of you, for their ancestors treated the false prophets in this way.	26 Wehe euch, wenn euch alle Menschen umschmeicheln; geradeso taten ihre Väter den falschen Propheten.
27 "But to you who hear I say, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,	27 Euch aber, die ihr auf mich hört, sage ich: Liebt eure Feinde; tut Gutes denen, die euch hassen!
28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.	28 Segnet, die euch fluchen; betet für sie, die euch schmähen!
29 To the person who strikes you on one cheek, offer the other one as well, and from the person who takes your cloak, do not withhold even your tunic.	29 Dem, der dich auf die Wange schlägt, halte auch die andere hin, und dem, der dir den Mantel nimmt, dem verweigere auch den Rock nicht!
30 Give to everyone who asks of you, and from the one who takes what is yours do not demand it back.	30 Jedem, der dich bittet, gib, und von dem, der das Deine nimmt, fordere es nicht zurück!
31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.	31 Und wie ihr wollt, daß euch die Menschen tun, so sollt auch ihr ihnen tun.
32 For if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.	32 Wenn ihr die liebt, die euch lieben, was für ein Dank steht euch zu? Denn auch die Sünder lieben jene, die sie lieben.
33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same.	33 Wenn ihr denen Gutes tut, die euch Gutes tun, was für ein Dank steht euch zu? Denn auch die Sünder tun dasselbe.
34 If you lend money to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit (is) that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, and get back the same amount.	34 Wenn ihr denen leiht, von denen ihr hofft, es wiederzubekommen, was für ein Dank steht euch zu? Auch die Sünder leihen Sündern, um Gleiches wiederzuerhalten.
35 But rather, love your enemies and do good to them, and lend expecting nothing back; then your reward will be great and you will be children of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.	35 Nein, liebt eure Feinde; tut Gutes und leiht, ohne etwas zurückzuerhoffen, und euer Lohn wird groß sein, und ihr werdet Söhne des Allerhöchsten sein; denn er ist gütig gegen die Undankbaren und Bösen.
36 Be merciful, just as (also) your Father is merciful.	36 Seid barmherzig, wie euer Vater barmherzig ist!
37 "Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven.	37 Richtet nicht, und ihr werdet nicht gerichtet werden; verurteilt nicht, und ihr werdet nicht verurteilt werden; sprecht frei, und ihr werdet freigesprochen werden.
38 Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you."	38 Gebt, und es wird euch gegeben werden; ein gutes, vollgedrücktes, gerütteltes und gehäuftes Maß wird man euch geben in euren Schoß; denn mit dem Maß, mit dem ihr meßt, wird euch wieder gemessen werden."
39 And he told them a parable, "Can a blind person guide a blind person? Will not both fall into a pit?	39 Auch ein Gleichnis sagte er ihnen: "Kann wohl ein Blinder einen Blinden führen? Werden sie nicht beide in die Grube fallen?
40 No disciple is superior to the teacher; but when fully trained, every disciple will be like his teacher.	40 Der Jünger ist nicht über dem Meister; wenn er voll ausgebildet ist, wird jeder sein wie sein Meister.
41 Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own?	41 Was siehst du den Splitter im Auge deines Bruders, den Balken aber in deinem eigenen Auge beachtest du nicht?
42 How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me remove that splinter in your eye,' when you do not even notice the wooden beam in your own eye? You hypocrite! Remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter in your brother's eye.	42 Wie kannst du deinem Bruder sagen: Bruder, laß mich den Splitter in deinem Auge herausziehen, und siehst selber den Balken in deinem Auge nicht? Du Heuchler! Zieh zuerst den Balken aus deinem Auge, dann magst du sehen, daß du den Splitter im Auge deines Bruders herausziehst.
43 "A good tree does not bear rotten fruit, nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit.	43 Denn es gibt nicht einen guten Baum, der schlechte Frucht bringt, und auch nicht einen schlechten Baum, der gute Frucht bringt.
44 For every tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not pick figs from thornbushes, nor do they gather grapes from brambles.	44 Denn jeden Baum erkennt man an seiner Frucht. Man sammelt doch von Disteln nicht Feigen, und von einem Dornstrauch pflückt man keine Traube.
45 A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good, but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil; for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.	45 Der gute Mensch bringt aus dem guten Schatz seines Herzens das Gute hervor, und der böse bringt aus dem bösen das Böse hervor; denn wovon das Herz voll ist, davon redet sein Mund.
46 "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' but not do what I command?	46 Was ruft ihr mich: Herr, Herr! und tut nicht, was ich sage?
47 I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, listens to my words, and acts on them.	47 Jeder, der zu mir kommt und meine Worte hört und sie tut, wem der gleicht, will ich euch zeigen.
48 That one is like a person building a house, who dug deeply and laid the foundation on rock; when the flood came, the river burst against that house but could not shake it because it had been well built.	48 Er gleicht einem Mann, der ein Haus baute, in die Tiefe grub und den Grund auf den Felsen legte. Als nun das Hochwasser kam, brandete der Strom gegen jenes Haus und vermochte es nicht zu erschüttern, denn gar trefflich war es gebaut.
49 But the one who listens and does not act is like a person who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the river burst against it, it collapsed at once and was completely destroyed."	49 Wer aber hört und nicht tut, der gleicht einem Mann, der ein Haus auf das Erdreich baute, ohne festen Grund. Als der Strom dagegen brandete, brach es sogleich zusammen, und der Zusammenbruch jenes Hauses war gewaltig."
