1 See, upon the mountains there advances the bearer of good news, announcing peace! Celebrate your feasts, O Judah, fulfill your vows! For nevermore shall you be invaded by the scoundrel; he is completely destroyed.	1 IL dissipatore è salito contro a te, o Ninive; guarda pur ben la fortezza, considera le vie, rinforzati i lombi, fortifica grandemente la tua forza.
2 The hammer comes up against you; guard the rampart, Keep watch on the road, gird your loins, marshall all your strength!	2 Perciocchè il Signore ha restituita a Giacobbe la sua gloria, quale è la gloria d’Israele; conciossiachè de’ vendemmiatori li abbiano vendemmiati, ed abbiano guasti i lor tralci.
3 The LORD will restore the vine of Jacob, the pride of Israel, Though ravagers have ravaged them and ruined the tendrils.	3 Gli scudi degli uomini prodi di colui son tinti di rosso, i suoi uomini di guerra son vestiti di scarlatto; nel giorno ch’egli ordinerà la battaglia, i carri si muoveranno con fuoco di faci, e gli abeti saranno scossi.
4 The shields of his warriors are crimsoned, the soldiers colored in scarlet; Fiery steel are the chariots on the day of his mustering. The horses are frenzied;	4 I carri smanieranno per le strade, e faranno un grande scalpiccio per le piazze; gli aspetti di coloro saran simili a torchi accesi, essi scorreranno come folgori.
5 the chariots dash madly through the streets And wheel in the squares, looking like firebrands, flashing like lightning bolts.	5 Egli chiamerà per nome i suoi bravi guerrieri, essi s’intopperanno camminando, correranno in fretta al muro di essa, e la difesa sarà apparecchiata.
6 His picked troops are called, ranks break at their charge; To the wall they rush, the mantelet is set up.	6 Le cateratte de’ fiumi saranno aperte, e i palazzi scoscenderanno.
7 The river gates are opened, the palace shudders,	7 E le dame del serraglio saran menate in cattività, e tratte fuori; e le lor serventi le accompagneranno con voci, simili a quelle delle colombe, picchiandosi i petti come tamburi.

10 "Plunder the silver, plunder the gold!" There is no end to the treasure, to their wealth in precious things of every kind!	10 Ella è vuotata, e spogliata, e desolata; ed ogni cuore è strutto, e tutte le ginocchia si battono, e vi è doglia in tutti i lombi, e le facce di tutti sono impallidite
11 Emptiness, desolation, waste; melting hearts and trembling knees, Writhing in every frame, every face blanched!	11 Dov’è il ricetto de’ leoni, e quel ch’era il pasco de’ leoncelli, dove andava il leone, il fiero leone, e il leoncello, senza che alcuno li spaventasse?
12 Where is the lions' cave, the young lions' den, Where the lion went in and out, and the cub, with no one to disturb them?	12 Quivi rapiva il leone per li suoi leoncelli abbastanza, e strangolava per le sue leonesse; ed empieva le sue grotte di preda, e i suoi ricetti di rapina.
13 The lion snatched enough for his cubs, and strangled for his lionesses; He filled his dens with prey, and his caves with plunder.	13 Eccomi a te, dice il Signor degli eserciti; io arderò, e ridurrò in fumo i tuoi carri, e la spada divorerà i tuoi leoncelli; e sterminerò dalla terra la tua preda, e la voce de’ tuoi messi non sarà più udita
14 I come against you, says the LORD of hosts; I will consume in smoke your chariots, and the sword shall devour your young lions; Your preying on the land I will bring to an end, the cry of your lionesses shall be heard no more.
