1 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron:	1 El Señor dijo a Moisés y a Aarón:
2 "Among the Levites take a total of the Kohathites, by clans and ancestral houses, all the men of the Kohathites	2 Realiza un censo especial de los levitas hijos de Quehat, por clanes y por familias.
3 between thirty and fifty years of age; these are to undertake obligatory tasks in the meeting tent.	3 Registra a todos los que puedan entrar en servicio, para ejercer funciones en la Carpa del Encuentro, es decir, a los que tengan entre treinta y cincuenta años.
4 "The service of the Kohathites in the meeting tent concerns the most sacred objects.	4 Los quehatitas serán los responsables, en la Carpa del Encuentro, de los objetos más santos.
5 In breaking camp, Aaron and his sons shall go in and take down the screening curtain and cover the ark of the commandments with it.	5 Cuando haya que levantar campamento, Aarón y sus hijos irán a descolgar el velo protector y cubrirán con él el Arca del Testimonio.
6 Over these they shall put a cover of tahash skin, and on top of this spread an all-violet cloth. They shall then put the poles in place.	6 Sobre él pondrán una funda de cuero fino, y encima extenderán una tela, toda de púrpura violeta. Luego le ajustarán las andas.
7 On the table of the Presence they shall spread a violet cloth and put on it the plates and cups, as well as the bowls and pitchers for libations; the established bread offering shall remain on the table.	7 En seguida extenderán una tela de púrpura violeta sobre la mesa de los panes de la ofrenda, y depositarán sobre ella las fuentes, los vasos, las tazas y los jarros para la libación. El pan de la ofrenda perpetua estará sobre la mesa.
8 Over these they shall spread a scarlet cloth and cover all this with tahash skin. They shall then put the poles in place.	8 Encima de todo esto, extenderán una tela de púrpura escarlata y la envolverán con una funda de cuero fino. Luego le ajustarán las andas.
9 They shall use a violet cloth to cover the lampstand with its lamps, trimming shears, and trays, as well as the various containers of oil from which it is supplied.	9 Asimismo, tomarán una tela de púrpura violeta y cubrirán el candelabro, sus lámparas, sus tenazas, sus platillos, y todas las vasijas de aceite que se emplean para el servicio del candelabro.
10 The lampstand with all its utensils they shall then enclose in a covering of tahash skin, and place on a litter.	10 Lo pondrán, junto con todos sus enseres, en una funda de cuero fino, y después lo depositarán sobre angarillas.
11 Over the golden altar they shall spread a violet cloth, and cover this also with a covering of tahash skin. They shall then put the poles in place.	11 Luego extenderán una tela de púrpura violeta sobre el altar de oro, lo cubrirán con una funda de cuero fino y le ajustarán las andas.
12 Taking the utensils of the sanctuary service, they shall wrap them all in violet cloth and cover them with tahash skin. They shall then place them on a litter.	12 Recogerán todos los utensilios que se emplean en el culto del Santuario, les pondrán una tela de púrpura violeta, los cubrirán con una funda de cuero fino, y finalmente los depositarán sobre unas angarillas.
13 After cleansing the altar of its ashes, they shall spread a purple cloth over it.	13 Después de haber limpiado las cenizas del altar, extenderán sobre él una tela de púrpura escarlata
14 On this they shall put all the utensils with which it is served: the fire pans, forks, shovels, basins, and all the utensils of the altar. They shall then spread a covering of tahash skin over this, and put the poles in place.	14 y pondrán encima todos los enseres que se usan para su servicio: los braseros, los tenedores, las palas y los aspersorios, o sea, todos los enseres del altar. Luego extenderán sobre él una funda de cuero fino y le ajustarán las andas.
15 "Only after Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sacred objects and all their utensils on breaking camp, shall the Kohathites enter to carry them. But they shall not touch the sacred objects; if they do they will die. These, then, are the objects in the meeting tent that the Kohathites shall carry.	15 Y al levantarse el campamento, una vez que Aarón y sus hijos hayan terminado de cubrir los objetos sagrados y todos sus accesorios, vendrán los hijos de Quehat para transportarlos, pero no tocarán los objetos sagrados, porque morirían. Estos son los objetos de la Carpa del Encuentro, que deberán ser transportados por los hijos de Quehat.
16 "Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, shall be in charge of the oil for the light, the fragrant incense, the established cereal offering, and the anointing oil. He shall be in charge of the whole Dwelling with all the sacred objects and utensils that are in it."	16 El sacerdote Eleazar, hijo de Aarón, será el encargado del aceite para iluminación, del incienso aromático, de la ofrenda perpetua y del óleo de la unción; ejercerá la supervisión de toda la Morada, con todos los objetos sagrados y todos los utensilios que hay en ella.
17 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron:	17 El Señor dijo a Moisés y a Aarón:
18 "Do not let the group of Kohathite clans perish from the body of the Levites.	18 No permitan que el grupo de los clanes de los quehatitas sea eliminado del número de los levitas.
19 That they may live and not die when they approach the most sacred objects, this is what you shall do for them: Aaron and his sons shall go in and assign to each of them his task and what he must carry;	19 Por eso, para que puedan vivir y no mueran cuando se acerquen a los objetos más santos, procedan con los quehatitas de la siguiente manera: vendrán Aarón y sus hijos, y asignarán a cada uno de ellos su oficio y su carga;
20 but the Kohathites shall not go in to look upon the sacred objects, even for an instant; if they do, they will die."	20 pero los quehatitas no entrarán a ver los objetos sagrados ni siguiera un momento, no sea que mueran.
21 The LORD said to Moses,	21 Luego el Señor dijo a Moisés:
22 "Take a total among the Gershonites also, by ancestral houses and clans,	22 Realiza también un censo de los gersonitas, por clanes y por familias.
23 of all the men between thirty and fifty years of age; these are to undertake obligatory tasks in the meeting tent.	23 Registra a todos los que puedan entrar en servicio para ejercer funciones en la Carpa del Encuentro, es decir, a los que tengan entre treinta y cincuenta años.
24 This is the task of the clans of the Gershonites, what they must do and what they must carry:	24 Los clanes de los gersonitas serán los responsables de los siguientes oficios y cargas:
25 they shall carry the sheets of the Dwelling, the meeting tent with its covering and the outer wrapping of tahash skin, the curtain at the entrance of the meeting tent,	25 ellos llevarán los tapices de la Morada, la Carpa del Encuentro y su tolda, el cortinado que está a la entrada de la Carpa del Encuentro;
26 the hangings of the court, the curtain at the entrance of the court that encloses both the Dwelling and the altar, together with their ropes and all other objects necessary in their use. Whatever is to be done with these things shall be their task.	26 las cortinas del atrio, la cortina de la entrada del atrio que rodea la Morada y el altar, y también sus cuerdas y todos los accesorios que se emplean en su servicio: ellos se encargarán de hacer todo lo necesario.
27 The service of the Gershonites shall be entirely under the direction of Aaron and his sons, with regard to what they must do and what they must carry; you shall make each man of them responsible for what he is to carry.	27 Los gersonitas harán su trabajo bajo las órdenes de Aarón y de sus hijos, tanto lo que se refiere al transporte cuanto al servicio: ustedes los harán responsables del cuidado de toda su carga.
28 This, then, is the task of the Gershonites in the meeting tent; and they shall be under the supervision of Ithamar, son of Aaron the priest.	28 Estas son las obligaciones de los clanes de los gersonitas, respecto de la Carpa del Encuentro. Las cumplirán bajo la dirección de Itamar, hijo del sacerdote Aarón.
29 "Among the Merarites, too, you shall enroll by clans and ancestral houses	29 En cuanto a los meraritas, deberás registrar, por clanes y por familias,
30 all their men between thirty and fifty years of age; these are to undertake obligatory tasks in the meeting tent.	30 a todos los que puedan entrar en servicio para ejercer funciones en la Carpa del Encuentro, es decir, a los que tengan entre treinta y cincuenta años.
31 This is what they shall be responsible for carrying, all the years of their service in the meeting tent: the boards of the Dwelling with its bars, columns and pedestals,	31 Ellos tendrán a su cargo, en la Carpa del Encuentro, todos los oficios relacionados con el traslado de los siguientes objetos: los bastidores de la Morada, con sus travesaños, columnas y bases;
32 and the columns of the surrounding court with their pedestals, pegs and ropes. You shall designate for each man of them all the objects connected with his service, which he shall be responsible for carrying.	32 las columnas que rodean el atrio, con sus bases, estacas y cuerdas, con todos sus accesorios y todo su equipamiento. Además, deberán tener un inventario de los objetos que tienen la obligación de transportar.
33 This, then, is the task of the clans of the Merarites during all their service in the meeting tent under the supervision of Ithamar, son of Aaron the priest."	33 Estos son los oficios de los clanes de los meraritas, con todas las obligaciones que deberán cumplir en la Carpa del Encuentro, bajo la dirección de Itamar, hijo del sacerdote Aarón.
34 So Moses and Aaron and the princes of the community made a registration among the Kohathites, by clans and ancestral houses,	34 De esta manera, Moisés, Aarón y los jefes de la comunidad hicieron el censo de los quehatitas, por clanes y por familias,
35 of all the men between thirty and fifty years of age. These were to undertake obligatory tasks in the meeting tent;	35 registrando a todos los que podían entrar en servicio para ejercer funciones en la Carpa del Encuentro, es decir, a los que tenían entre treinta y cincuenta años.
36 as registered by clans, they numbered two thousand seven hundred and fifty.	36 Los registrados por clanes fueron en total 2.750 hombres.
37 Such was the census of all the men of the Kohathite clans who were to serve in the meeting tent, which Moses took, together with Aaron, as the LORD bade him.	37 Estos fueron los inscritos en el registro de los clanes de los quehatitas, todos los que prestaban servicio en la Carpa del Encuentro. Moisés y Aarón los registraron, según la orden que el Señor había dado por medio de Moisés.
38 The registration was then made among the Gershonites, by clans and ancestral houses,	38 Los inscritos en el registro de los gersonitas, por clanes y por familias,
39 of all the men between thirty and fifty years of age. These were to undertake obligatory tasks in the meeting tent;	39 todos los que podían entrar en servicio para ejercer funciones en el Carpa del Encuentro, es decir, los que tenían entre treinta y cincuenta años,
40 as registered by clans and ancestral houses, they numbered two thousand six hundred and thirty.	40 fueron en total 2.630 hombres.
41 Such was the census of all the men of the Gershonite clans who were to serve in the meeting tent, which Moses took, together with Aaron, at the LORD'S bidding.	41 Estos fueron los registrados en el censo de los clanes de los gersonitas, todos los que prestaban servicio en la Carpa del Encuentro, y que Moisés y Aarón registraron por orden del Señor.
42 Then the registration was made among the Merarites, by clans and ancestral houses,	42 Los inscritos en el registro de los meraritas, por clanes y por familias,
43 of all the men from thirty up to fifty years of age. These were to undertake obligatory tasks in the meeting tent;	43 todos los que podían entrar en servicio para ejercer funciones en la Carpa del Encuentro, es decir, los que tenían entre treinta y cincuenta años,
44 as registered by clans, they numbered three thousand two hundred.	44 fueron en total 3.200 hombres.
45 Such was the census of the men of the Merarite clans which Moses took, together with Aaron, as the LORD bade him.	45 Estos fueron los inscritos en el registro de los clanes de los meraritas, que Moisés y Aarón registraron según la orden que el Señor había dado por medio de Moisés.
46 Therefore, when Moses and Aaron and the Israelites princes had completed the registration among the Levites, by clans and ancestral houses,	46 Todos los levitas que Moisés, Aarón y los jefes de Israel registraron por clanes y por familias
47 of all the men between thirty and fifty years of age who were to undertake tasks of service or transport of the meeting tent,	47 –los que debían prestar servicios en el culto y traslado de la Carpa del Encuentro, es decir, los que tenían entre treinta y cincuenta años–
48 the total number registered was eight thousand five hundred and eighty.	48 fueron 8.580 hombres.
49 According to the LORD'S bidding to Moses, they gave them their individual assignments for service and for transport; so the LORD had commanded Moses.	49 A cada uno le fue asignada una obligación en el servicio y el traslado de la Carpa, según la orden del Señor por medio de Moisés; y cada uno fue registrado como el Señor lo había ordenado a Moisés.
