Jeremiah 35

1 This word came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah:	1 Parola detta dal Signore a Geremia a tempo di Joachim figliuolo di Giosia, re di Giuda, quando gli disse:
2 Approach the Rechabites and speak to them; bring them into the house of the LORD, to one of the rooms, and give them wine to drink.	2 Va alla casa dei Recabiti, e parla con essi, e conducili nella casa del Signore in una delle camere del tesoro, e presenta loro da bere del vino.
3 So I went and brought Jaazaniah, son of Jeremiah, son of Habazziniah, his brothers and all his sons, the whole company of the Rechabites,	3 Ed io presi Jezonia figliuolo di Geremia, figliuolo di Habsania, e i suoi fratelli, e tutti i loro figliuoli, e tutta la famiglia de' Recabiti;
4 into the house of the LORD, to the room of the sons of Hanan, son of Igdaliah, the man of God, next to the princes' room, above the room of Maaseiah, son of Shallum, keeper of the doorway.	4 E li condussi nella casa del Signore, nella camera del tesoro, dove stavano i figliuoli di Hanan figliuolo di Jegedelia uomo di Dio, la qual camera era presso al tesoro de' principi, di là dalla tesoreria, di Maasia figliuolo di Sellimi, che era custode del vestibolo.
5 I set before these Rechabite men bowls full of wine and offered them cups to drink the wine.	5 E misi dinanzi a' figliuoli della casa de' Recabiti de' bicchieri, e delle tazze piene di vino, e dissi loro: Bevete del vino.
6 "We do not drink wine," they said to me: "Jonadab, Rechab's son, our father, forbade us in these words: 'Neither you nor your children shall ever drink wine.	6 Ma quegli risposero: Noi non berem vino, perchè Jonadab figliuolo di Rechab padre nostro ci diede quest'ordine: Non berete vino voi, e i vostri figliuoli in eterno:
7 Build no house and sow no seed; neither plant nor own a vineyard. You shall dwell in tents all your life, so that you may live long on the earth where you are wayfarers.'	7 E non fabbricherete case, e non seminerete biade, e non pianterete, nò avrete vigne; ma abiterete sotto le tende per tutti i vostri giorni, affinchè viviate lungamente sopra la terra in cui siete di pellegrinaggio.
8 Now we have heeded Jonadab, Rechab's son, our father, in all his prohibitions. All our lives we have not drunk wine, neither we, nor our wives, nor our sons, nor our daughters.	8 Abbiam dunque ubbidito alla voce di Jonadab figliuolo di Rechab padre nostro in tutto quello, che egli ci ha comandato, e perciò non beviam vino in tutta la nostra vita noi, e le nostre donne, e i figliuoli, e le figlie:
9 We build no houses to live in; we own no vineyards or fields or crops,	9 E non fabbrichiamo case per abitarvi, e non abbiamo né vigna, ne campo da seminare:
10 and we live in tents; we obediently do everything our father Jonadab commanded us.	10 Ma abitiamo sotto le tende, e siamo stati ubbidienti a tutti i comandamenti dati a noi da Jonadab padre nostro.
11 But when Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, invaded this land, we decided to come into Jerusalem to escape the army of the Chaldeans and the army of Aram; that is why we are now living in Jerusalem."	11 Ma essendo giunto Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia nella nostra terra, noi abbiam detto: Venite, entriamo in Gerusalemme per ischivare l'esercito de' Caldei, e l'esercito della Siria: e ci siam fermati in Gerusalemme.
12 Then this word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:	12 E il Signore parlò a Geremia, dicendo:
13 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Go, say to the men of Judah and to the citizens of Jerusalem: Will you not take correction and obey my words? says the LORD.	13 Queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Va, e di agli uomini di Giuda, e agli abitatori di Gerusalemme: Non vi emenderete voi, ubbidendo alle mie parole, dice il Signore?
14 The advice of Jonadab, Rechab's son, by which he forbade his children to drink wine, has been followed: to this day they have not drunk it; they obeyed their father's command. Me, however, you have not obeyed, although I spoke to you untiringly and insistently.	14 Sono state in piena osservanza le parole di Jonadab figliuolo di Rechab, colle quali ordinò a' suoi figliuoli di non ber vino, ed ei non ne hanno bevuto sino a quest'oggi, eseguendo il comando del padre loro: ma io parlai a voi di buon ora, e senza intermissione, e non mi avete ubbidito.
15 I kept sending you all my servants the prophets, telling you to turn back, all of you, from your evil way; to reform your conduct, and not follow strange gods or serve them, if you would remain on the land which I gave you and your fathers; but you did not heed me or obey me.	15 E mandai a voi i servi miei i profeti, di buon'ora li mandai, dicendo: Convertitevi ognun di voi dalla sua pessima vita, e rettificate i vostri affetti, e non andate dietro agli dei stranieri, e non gli onorate: e abiterete nella terra, ch'io diedi a voi, e a' padri vostri. Ma voi non mi porgeste orecchio, né mi ascoltaste.
16 Yes, the children of Jonadab, Rechab's son, observed the command which their father laid on them; but this people does not obey me!	16 I figli adunque di Jonadab han ritenuto costantemente il comandamento dato ad essi dal padre loro: ma questo popolo non ha ubbidito a me.
17 Now, therefore, says the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel: I will bring upon Judah and all the citizens of Jerusalem every evil that I threatened; because when I spoke they did not obey, when I called they did not answer.	17 Per questo così parla il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio a Israele: Ecco che io farò cader sopra Giuda, e sopra tutti gli abitatori di Gerusalemme tutti i disastri, che io ho lor minacciati, perchè ho parlato ad essi, e non mi hanno ascoltato; gli ho chiamati, e non mi hanno risposto.
18 But to the company of the Rechabites Jeremiah said: Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Since you have obeyed the command of Jonadab, your father, kept all his commands and done everything he commanded you,	18 Ma Geremia disse alla famiglia de' Recabiti: Queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Perchè voi avete ubbidito al comando di Jonadab padre vostro, e avete osservati tutti i suoi insegnamenti, e avete eseguito tutto quello, ch'egli v'impose:
19 thus therefore says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Never shall there fail to be a descendant of Jonadab, Rechab's son, standing in my service.	19 Per questo cosi dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio di Israele: Non mancherà della stirpe di Jonadab figliuolo di Rechab chi stia dinanzi a me per tutti i tempi.
