Leviticus 6

1 The LORD said to Moses,	1 Locutus est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
2 "Give Aaron and his sons the following command: This is the ritual for holocausts. The holocaust is to remain on the hearth of the altar all night until the next morning, and the fire is to be kept burning on the altar.	2 Anima quæ peccaverit, et contempto Domino, negaverit proximo suo depositum quod fidei ejus creditum fuerat, vel vi aliquid extorserit, aut calumniam fecerit,
3 The priest, clothed in his linen robe and wearing linen drawers on his body, shall take away the ashes to which the fire has reduced the holocaust on the altar, and lay them at the side of the altar.	3 sive rem perditam invenerit, et inficians insuper pejeraverit, et quodlibet aliud ex pluribus fecerit, in quibus solent peccare homines,
4 Then, having taken off these garments and put on other garments, he shall carry the ashes to a clean place outside the camp.	4 convicta delicti,
5 The fire on the altar is to be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest shall put firewood on it. On this he shall lay out the holocaust and burn the fat of the peace offerings.	5 reddet omnia, quæ per fraudem voluit obtinere, integra, et quintam insuper partem domino cui damnum intulerat.
6 The fire is to be kept burning continuously on the altar; it must not go out.	6 Pro peccato autem suo offeret arietem immaculatum de grege, et dabit eum sacerdoti, juxta æstimationem mensuramque delicti :
7 "This is the ritual of the cereal offering. One of Aaron's sons shall first present it before the LORD, in front of the altar.	7 qui rogabit pro eo coram Domino, et dimittetur illi pro singulis quæ faciendo peccavit.
8 Then he shall take from it a handful of its fine flour and oil, together with all the frankincense that is on it, and this he shall burn on the altar as its token offering, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.	8 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
9 The rest of it Aaron and his sons may eat; but it must be eaten in the form of unleavened cakes and in a sacred place: in the court of the meeting tent they shall eat it.	9 Præcipe Aaron et filiis ejus : Hæc est lex holocausti : cremabitur in altari tota nocte usque mane : ignis ex eodem altari erit.
10 It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it to them as their portion from the oblations of the LORD; it is most sacred, like the sin offering and the guilt offering.	10 Vestietur tunica sacerdos et feminalibus lineis : tolletque cineres, quos vorans ignis exussit, et ponens juxta altare,
11 All the male descendants of Aaron may partake of it as their rightful share in the oblations of the LORD perpetually throughout your generations. Whatever touches the oblations becomes sacred."	11 spoliabitur prioribus vestimentis, indutusque aliis, efferret eos extra castra, et in loco mundissimo usque ad favillam consumi faciet.
12 The LORD said to Moses,	12 Ignis autem in altari semper ardebit, quem nutriet sacerdos subjiciens ligna mane per singulos dies, et imposito holocausto, desuper adolebit adipes pacificorum.
13 "This is the offering that Aaron and his sons shall present to the LORD (on the day he is anointed): one tenth of an ephah of fine flour for the established cereal offering, half in the morning and half in the evening.	13 Ignis est iste perpetuus, qui numquam deficiet in altari.
14 It shall be well kneaded and fried in oil on a griddle when you bring it in. Having broken the offering into pieces, you shall present it as a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.	14 Hæc est lex sacrificii et libamentorum, quæ offerent filii Aaron coram Domino, et coram altari.
15 Aaron's descendant who succeeds him as the anointed priest shall do likewise. This is a perpetual ordinance: for the Lord the whole offering shall be burned.	15 Tollet sacerdos pugillum similæ, quæ conspersa est oleo, et totum thus, quod super similam positum est : adolebitque illud in altari in monimentum odoris suavissimi Domino :
16 Every cereal offering of a priest shall be a whole burnt offering; it may not be eaten."	16 reliquam autem partem similæ comedet Aaron cum filiis suis, absque fermento : et comedet in loco sancto atrii tabernaculi.
17 The LORD said to Moses,	17 Ideo autem non fermentabitur, quia pars ejus in Domini offertur incensum. Sanctum sanctorum erit, sicut pro peccato atque delicto.
18 "Tell Aaron and his sons: This is the ritual for sin offerings. At the place where holocausts are slaughtered, there also, before the LORD, shall the sin offering be slaughtered. It is most sacred.	18 Mares tantum stirpis Aaron comedent illud. Legitimum ac sempiternum erit in generationibus vestris de sacrificiis Domini : omnis qui tetigerit illa, sanctificabitur.
19 The priest who presents the sin offering may partake of it; but it must be eaten in a sacred place, in the court of the meeting tent.	19 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
20 Whatever touches its flesh shall become sacred. If any of its blood is spilled on a garment, the stained part must be washed in a sacred place.	20 Hæc est oblatio Aaron, et filiorum ejus, quam offerre debent Domino in die unctionis suæ. Decimam partem ephi offerent similæ in sacrificio sempiterno, medium ejus mane, et medium ejus vespere :
21 A clay vessel in which it has been cooked shall thereafter be broken; if it is cooked in a bronze vessel, this shall be scoured afterward and rinsed with water.	21 quæ in sartagine oleo conspersa frigetur. Offeret autem eam calidam in odorem suavissimum Domino
22 All the males of the priestly line may partake of the sin offering, since it is most sacred.	22 sacerdos, qui jure patri successerit, et tota cremabitur in altari.
23 But no one may partake of any sin offering of which some blood has been brought into the meeting tent to make atonement in the sanctuary; such an offering must be burned up in the fire.	23 Omne enim sacrificium sacerdotum igne consumetur, nec quisquam comedet ex eo.
	24 Locutus est autem Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
	25 Loquere Aaron et filiis ejus : Ista est lex hostiæ pro peccato : in loco ubi offertur holocaustum, immolabitur coram Domino. Sanctum sanctorum est.
	26 Sacerdos, qui offert, comedet eam in loco sancto, in atrio tabernaculi.
	27 Quidquid tetigerit carnes ejus, sanctificabitur. Si de sanguine illius vestis fuerit aspersa, lavabitur in loco sancto.
	28 Vas autem fictile, in quo cocta est, confringetur ; quod si vas æneum fuerit, defricabitur, et lavabitur aqua.
	29 Omnis masculus de genere sacerdotali vescetur de carnibus ejus, quia Sanctum sanctorum est.
	30 Hostia enim quæ cæditur pro peccato, cujus sanguis infertur in tabernaculum testimonii ad expiandum in sanctuario, non comedetur, sed comburetur igni.
