Isaiah 31

1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who depend upon horses: Who put their trust in chariots because of their number, and in horsemen because od their combined power, But look not to the Holy One of Israel nor seek the LORD!	1 ¡Ay, los que bajan a Egipto por ayuda! En la caballería se apoyan, y fían en los carros porque abundan y en los jinetes porque son muchos; mas no han puesto su mirada en el Santo de Israel, ni a Yahveh han buscado.
2 Yet he too is wise and will bring disaster; he will not turn from what he has threatened to do. He will rise up against the house of the wicked and against those who help evildoers.	2 Pero también él es sabio, hará venir el mal, y no retirará sus palabras; se levantará contra la casa de los malhechores y contra la ayuda de los que obran la iniquidad.
3 The Egyptians are men, not God, their horses are flesh, not spirit; When the LORD stretches forth his hand, the helper shall stumble, the one helped shall fall, and both of them shall perish together.	3 En cuanto a Egipto, es humano, no divino, y sus caballos, carne, y no espíritu; Yahveh extenderá su mano, tropezará el ayudador y caerá el ayudado y todos a una perecerán.
4 Thus says the LORD to me: As a lion or a lion cub growling over its prey, With a band of shepherds assembled against it, Is neither frightened by their shouts nor disturbed by their noise, So shall the LORD of hosts come down to wage war upon the mountain and hill of Zion.	4 Porque así me ha dicho Yahveh: Como ruge el león y el cachorro sobre su presa, y cuando se convoca contra él a todos los pastores, de sus voces no se intimida, ni de su tumulto se apoca: tal será el descenso de Yahveh Sebaot para guerrear sobre el monte Sión y sobre su colina.
5 Like hovering birds, so the LORD of hosts shall shield Jerusalem, To protect and deliver, to spare and rescue it.	5 Como pájaros que vuelan, así protegerá Yahveh Sebaot a Jerusalén, protegerá y librará, perdonará y salvará.
6 Return, O children of Israel, to him whom you have utterly deserted.	6 Volveos a aquel de quien profundamente os apartasteis, hijos de Israel.
7 On that day each one of you shall spurn his sinful idols of shlver and gold, which he made with his hands.	7 Porque aquel día repudiará cada uno las divinidades de plata y las divinidades de oro que hicieron vuestras manos pecadoras.
8 He shall rush past his crag in panic, and his princes shall flee in terror from his standard, Says the LORD who has a fire in Zion and a furnace in Jerusalem.	8 Caerá Asur por espada no de hombres, y por espada no humana serán devorados; se dará a la fuga ante la espada, y sus mejores guerreros serán destinados a trabajos.
	9 Aterrado, abandonará su tropa, y sus jefes espantados abandonarán su estandarte. Oráculo de Yahveh, que tiene fuego en Sión, y horno en Jerusalén.
