1 For the leader. A song; a psalm.	1 [Für den Chormeister. Ein Lied. Ein Psalm.] Jauchzt vor Gott, alle Länder der Erde!
2 Shout joyfully to God, all you on earth; sing of his glorious name; give him glorious praise.	2 Spielt zum Ruhm seines Namens! Verherrlicht ihn mit Lobpreis!
3 Say to God: "How awesome your deeds! Before your great strength your enemies cringe.	3 Sagt zu Gott: «Wie Ehrfurcht gebietend sind deine Taten; vor deiner gewaltigen Macht müssen die Feinde sich beugen.»
4 All on earth fall in worship before you; they sing of you, sing of your name!" Selah	4 Alle Welt bete dich an und singe dein Lob, sie lobsinge deinem Namen! [Sela]
5 Come and see the works of God, awesome in the deeds done for us.	5 Kommt und seht die Taten Gottes! Staunenswert ist sein Tun an den Menschen:
6 He changed the sea to dry land; through the river they passed on foot. Therefore let us rejoice in him,	6 Er verwandelte das Meer in trockenes Land, sie schritten zu Fuß durch den Strom; dort waren wir über ihn voll Freude.
7 who rules by might forever, Whose eyes are fixed upon the nations. Let no rebel rise to challenge! Selah	7 In seiner Kraft ist er Herrscher auf ewig; seine Augen prüfen die Völker. Die Trotzigen können sich gegen ihn nicht erheben. [Sela]
8 Bless our God, you peoples; loudly sound his praise,	8 Preist unsern Gott, ihr Völker; lasst laut sein Lob erschallen!
9 Who has kept us alive and not allowed our feet to slip.	9 Er erhielt uns am Leben und ließ unseren Fuß nicht wanken.
10 You tested us, O God, tried us as silver tried by fire.	10 Du hast, o Gott, uns geprüft und uns geläutert, wie man Silber läutert.
11 You led us into a snare; you bound us at the waist as captives.	11 Du brachtest uns in schwere Bedrängnis und legtest uns eine drückende Last auf die Schulter.
12 You let captors set foot on our neck; we went through fire and water; then you led us out to freedom.	12 Du ließest Menschen über unsere Köpfe schreiten. Wir gingen durch Feuer und Wasser. Doch du hast uns in die Freiheit hinausgeführt.
13 I will bring holocausts to your house; to you I will fulfill my vows,	13 Ich komme mit Opfern in dein Haus; ich erfülle dir meine Gelübde,
14 The vows my lips pronounced and my mouth spoke in distress.	14 die ich einst dir versprach, die dir mein Mund in der Not gelobte.
15 Holocausts of fatlings I will offer you and burnt offerings of rams; I will sacrifice oxen and goats. Selah	15 Fette Tiere bringe ich dir als Brandopfer dar, zusammen mit dem Rauch von Widdern; ich richte dir Rinder und Böcke zu. [Sela]
16 Come and hear, all you who fear God, while I recount what has been done for me.	16 Ihr alle, die ihr Gott fürchtet, kommt und hört; ich will euch erzählen, was er mir Gutes getan hat.
17 I called to the Lord with my mouth; praise was upon my tongue.	17 Zu ihm hatte ich mit lauter Stimme gerufen und schon konnte mein Mund ihn preisen.
18 Had I cherished evil in my heart, the Lord would not have heard.	18 Hätte ich Böses im Sinn gehabt, dann hätte der Herr mich nicht erhört.
19 But God did hear and listened to my voice in prayer.	19 Gott aber hat mich erhört, hat auf mein drängendes Beten geachtet.
20 Blessed be God, who did not refuse me the kindness I sought in prayer.	20 Gepriesen sei Gott; denn er hat mein Gebet nicht verworfen und mir seine Huld nicht entzogen.
